  1. we'll see. would love to be proven wrong.
  2. some idiot will find a way to stand up. you watch. (as i said, no faith in Humanity)
  3. because I have NO faith in humanity. . . I give it less than 1 day, until someone sits up and smacks the crap out of their head (or clotheslines themselves) on the 2nd set of Tunnels on the Mat Racer. so expect either a fully enclosed Mat Racer, or a fully exposed one, within 4 months of the opening.
  4. Have fun, and good luck with Lightning Rod. Maybe third year's the charm? hopefully. tho to be completely honest? . . I'm way more interested in Wild Eagle. (shocked he agreed to go, he won't ride vast majority of the coasters, and he is NOT a fan of Country Music. . but he says he likes Dolly, so is willing to go next summer)
  5. ^ ha.. I realized (even back then), that Dopey was probably being played by a young girl. . . (need them slim and short for Dopey).. . so didn't get too excited. but yeah, it was fun to experience that, and we got a huge kick out of it. it was during the taking of this pic: so of course, I got a hug pic after. . . we were busy laughing. it's a memory that stayed with me all these years later
  6. Still Millennium Force, 2nd to last row, bay side, on June 5th. and it's most likely going to stay that way until next summer. . when we're going to plan to go to Dollywood! (yep, I convinced my Spouse to go). tho, we are considering Six Flags passes, now that Fiesta Tx has announced Wonder Woman.. so if we do that, we'll buy during Holiday in the Park, and might get a new coaster in this current year
  7. Not surprised they shut down Shockwave. .as that area tends to flood (in particular the train track crossing walkway) in heavy rain: and the Bobsleds. . I think any type of Bobsled closes in the rain once the course gets wet. but I am a little surprised they didn't shut down Mine Train (those are the tracks peeking out in the pic above from 2015) glad you had a good visit! and very happy to hear Yosemite Sam got some love. . last time I was there, most of the animatronics were broken. . . but I'm predisposed to hate it, because I recall the ride when it was the miners, before it got the Warner Brothers make over
  8. are those the ones behind the stage? those were BUSY when we were there. . but it was during Brews & BBQ. . so that could be why.
  9. absolutely positive we rode Space Mountain (likely both sides). . but don't have any memory or pictures of it. weird. (I do have some from my trips to MK with my Hubby, Nick tho):
  10. Probably did. It's my age. And that's the excuse I'm sticking to.
  11. actually. .that would be Chip's "must do" my favorite then, and still my favorite, is Haunted Mansion (think I mentioned that in a caption, actually)
  12. my favorite, and most low traffic one when we were there? the ones next to the Arcade on the main midway, towards the CP Police station. not the cleanest restroom I've ever been in, but the stalls, in particular, were very low traffic and offered some privacy if needed during a day in the park. good question, and one most folks would not think to ever ask outloud. Hope I helped.
  13. Loved our trip to BGT. too bad you didn't make it up to Weekie Watchee to see the mermaids!
  14. the Hilton in Downtown Disney (tho it's called Disney Springs now, right?). They are the only non-Disney hotel in that area, that's considered a Disney property. . . so you get the benefits, and it tends to be cheaper than a Disney branded property. there's a Disney Store onsite (you can buy stuff in the parks and have shipped to your hotel), you get the Extra magic hours, and it's first stop on the Shuttle bus pickup/drop off from Magic Kingdom. Nick and I have stayed here several times as well, when we've gone to Disney. nope.. I only went because Chip wanted to (and it's Disney)
  15. keep in mind, this is not an official "Disney" event. (at least it was not at the time, and I do believe it still is not officially a Disney Sponsored thing). -- can't piss off the Religious folks, you know. but yeah, there are quite a few Cast members who are "family" and they really were thrilled to see us there. We were getting nice comments, winks and nods from Cast Members the whole weekend, even when it was just us walking together. (not to mention a butt grope from Dopey ) . .was great they got to march in the parade, even back in 2003, even if not official event.
  16. you had BETTER call me if you come to Texas!
  17. and Eeyore is sad, because I don't have any more pics from this flashback trip report to post.
  18. here's my final batch of pictures from this trip. . the big day: "Gay Day" at Magic Kingdom. a couple of notes: 1) you'll notice a lot of red. The organizers encourage (or at least did when we went on this trip back in 2003, and I assume they still do) members of the LGBTQ community and their allies to wear red to be visible. I'm pretty visible anyways, LOL, so i chose to wear my "Cub Master" shirt I had bought at Goodwill years before (which I thought was pretty damn funny). I did have my red hat on tho. 2) there were a couple things we really wanted to do: I really wanted to see the afternoon parade (which included some Gay Day organizers marching), as well as cast members really giving it their all for the adoring crowd. Chip wanted to do the Country Bear Jamboree, with the Bears (a term for large, hairy, gay men). It was so popular they ended up doing multiple showings, with the line of folks waiting to get in stretching all the way down the block. Funny story about that 2nd one, and a story I still tell: so we are in line with all these Men, and near us is a French family, Father, Mother and a little girl. they don't seem phased at all, that they are the only male/female couple in the line to get in with us, but I/we noticed them as the father just happened to be wearing a red shirt (LOL. . what a day to wear red!). once we got into the theater and the show started, this wonderful family absolutely lit up with confusion and delight, at a theater full of big, gay, men, singing along to every song! Seriously, I spent more time watching them react (and it was delight) than I did watching the show. You should have heard the doors blow off the place when Teddi Berra drops down from the ceiling on her swing. if YouTube had been a thing at the time? Someone would have filmed it and this would have gone viral. . .LOL. hope you enjoy the pics! my spirit animal URSULA we had lunch at Cinderella's castle. . but first had to pose in the throne! so butch. . over the years, eaten here many times. Not the greatest steakhouse, but honestly? you can't beat the ambiance here, especially if Cinderella is wandering around interacting with the diners (which she often is) we stood in line to meet, Pooh. . . Tigger Chip doing "chestburster" one of my all time favorite pics of him. and, of course, Mickey! in line with the Bears to see the Country Bears Here comes Teddi Berra Steamboat bert! Splash Mountain Daytime Parade on gay day. . . the cast really went all out and interacted a lot with the crowd (always with a huge smile on their faces). sexy! take on a whole new look during gay days. . . LOL. . .those are BROOMS. . right??? Castle at night. . .pretty! ooooo Electric Light Parade and fireworks over the castle. again, impressed how well some of these came out, using crappy, disposable cameras.
  19. but if you START in Pittsburg, the car rental is way cheaper, and you can start off with Kennywood. that's why I was wondering ?
  20. weird you didn't just do what we did, and fly into Pittsburgh, and rent a car and then drive to Philly. hope you had a great time, but at least the fact you're posting, proves you made it thru!
  21. I think they are going to just put in 4 of these guys to fill up the space:
  22. but back to the more "important" question. . you skipped the haunted house???
  23. see. . you have to go into the Mining Museum next door. that's why you were confused
  24. um. . ."weird" in what way? it's named after Wonder Woman's lasso (because the yellow track looks like her lasso). . and the supports / train appear to be painted to match her colors - the same colors as Superman (always have been): Red, Blue, and Yellow (tho Wondy has some white in her boots, and stars on shorts)
