^ that's plenty of time. . especially if you don't do the haunts (as that will be where the lines are). keep in mind - not everything is going to be open (in particular, White Water Bay area is closed for season already (the prior weekend is the last, tho they are short staffed now anyways so a lot in there isn't running), and at least one coaster (Pandemonium) will shut down WAY early, as they use the queue area for a haunt . . same is true of Roadrunner Express (tho the haunt goes behind the queue area). but yes, that's more than enough time, even without flash pass. expect big lines for Iron Rattler (tho will be back to two trains by then), Wonder Woman (capacity), & Joker (new Hotness) ETA: Texas is really big on "church". . so the best ride time you have will be Sunday Morning. so if were me? I'd just go all day Sat & then back on Sunday until about 2pm. but if you're there? hit Friday night too, and if the Fright Fest shows are already running (not sure they started yet that early in Sept), make sure to catch a couple, they are good fun - tho they are almost all just "monsters" singing catchy 80's / "spooky" tunes

Coaster wise, I agree with you: American Thunder was my favorite in the park, followed closely by Screamin Eagle & Mr. Freeze. the River King Mine Train was surprisingly fun (fast & smooth) Supergirl is fantastic, make sure to get a ride or two. we also greatly enjoyed Colossus (the giant ferris wheel), the Log Flume, and Superman (used to be Dungeon Drop at Astroworld) -

Those are some great pics, looks like a lovely day you were there. and bwaaa-haaa-haaa. . another convert to the cult of Cedar Downs! (when you next go back, ask at the counter in the Museum, they will give you a neat little souvenir button - even tho it will be your 2nd time) and ya GOTTA go by the petting zoo to get a pic with Samson -

^yep. it's a classic, and as noted, I was stunned how badly it's maintained. granted, I'm a Carousel junkie, and I have pics of me smiling while riding. . but I also walked away from our 1 (only 1 !!!) ride, really sad. the carriages on this thing are beautiful too. .and also in terrible shape -

Yeah and at least in this park the ride is very popular. People do enjoy it a lot and that whole side of the park is always busy. It’s been a very good addition. for the love of G-d tho. . PLEASE tell Mgmt to refurb the Carousel. it's embarrassing they've let it get that bad. I was horrified during our 1st visit (ever) to the park in June. and if Supergirl is drawing that many people to that area? THIS is the representation of SFStL that folks like me (1st time visitors) are coming away with. -

Got a lovely postcard in the Mail from Give Kids the World Village, thanking me for participating (it was my pleasure). Steven also wrote a lovely personal note on the postcard regarding how proud he was of Team TPR, so wanted to share. so glad we were able to raise so much money for this wonderful Charity at SFFT for Team TPR I worried it was tacky to share, but my Spouse pointed out it was on a postcard, so really anyone during it's mailing, had read it, so it wasn't like I was sharing something super personal. so . . . sharing (the napkin is covering address label)

did they ever complete and/or open that new Bird section? "Aviary Safari". . it was at the top of the park maps when we were there in May of 2018. -
you know. . . thinking on this more and more . . it's PROBABLY a flat (which would be great regardless, since CrackAxle Canyon area - which seems to be where "Sam" implies it's gonna be based - could really use a flat over there. . all they got are kiddie flats). BUT. . . . know what really does fit every clue thus far? S&S Steeplechase re-imagining. [youtu_be] [/youtu_be] -- there's not one in the USA -- the vehicles could be themed - just imagine Horse on 1 track, Steam Train on the other. . so a "race" of horsepower vs steam engine -- the above themeing would fit in perfectly in CrackAxle -- capacity would be terrible, so great for a smaller park like Fiesta Texas -- IF the boomerang is leaving, then replacing with another coaster, and a family one at that, would make sense. as I noted, most likely just a flat. .but wouldn't this be amazing?

the best part was she claimed she was "racially profiled" because they found a vape pen in her bag. so I responded, "really? racially profiled?" and she responded, losing her S#!t, and calling me a Trump supporter. Bwaaa-haaaa-haaaaa didn't even bother pointing out to her that there is ZERO chance she would have gotten removed from the park if they found a vape pen in her bag during check that she forgot to leave in the car. she obviously was doing something she shouldn't have been doing, in a space she shouldn't have been doing it. but special people feel they have special privileges and damn the rest of us, right?

I'm thinking something like "HangTime" at Knott's.. would look PERFECT in that space. (but there's that Gerstlauer question mark). they HAVE worked a bunch with S&S tho (including the 1st Freespin installation). . hmmmm. . .maybe something like El Loco? that *would* have a "dive" element, tho not being a "dive" coaster.

oh, just to clarify, I didn't mean YOU thought we were nuts re: our Pennsylvania trip. I meant the folks we met at the parks we stopped at. the conversation always came up this way: them: where are you from? us: we're from Texas them: oh (a sad, knowing oh) us: no, from Austin them: OH! (happy, surprised, pleasant oh) so you're just visiting this park? us: no, we flew into Pittsburgh, rented a car, and are driving to Philadelphia for the Historic sites, but stopping for Amusement Park fun along the way. them: OMG.. that's SO far to drive, y'all are nuts. almost every time we got in a conversation with someone, that's how it went. so that's what I was meaning. being from Texas, and being used to driving in Texas - even just within the city of Houston or Dallas, we're well used to an hour commute to get anywhere. so the 40 minute drive from our hotel to SFStl was nothing, and if we had wanted to go back the next day, easily could have too. (but as you note, it's not really a 2 day park) -

^ LOL> . remember, I'm from Texas, so that 40 minute drive was *nothing*. . that's closer than I travel to get to work on days I drive in. it reminds me of folks reacting like we were nuts when we drove across Pennsylvania (from Pitts. to Philly, hitting parks along the way).. to us, that was no longer than a trip from Austin to Dallas
