but we just got a giant flat, in Joker. if Jeffrey Siebert is playing "fair" (and he usually does), and they take out the theater next to Boomerang, as well as boomerang? that's a nice plot of land to put in a coaster of some sort. tho honestly? wouldn't surprise me, if they end up using that area for a new Kids section, and then the 2021 addition is something in the current kidzopolis spot.. which, could easily be made into something new for the DCU area. so really who knows? the park really does need a classic woodie, so still hoping someday to get an out & back woodie off of the boardwalk, going along the canyon wall into the parking lot. I've been wishing for a while for a new flat over where the radio station is in CrackAxle - they really need another attraction in this area, and either an outwards facing trabant, or the next gen Enterprises, would easily fit in this area, with a "wagon wheel" theme. but that's not what this area is that Jeffrey is teasing.

glad you had such a great time, and looks like you had incredible weather for it. nice pics. only one ride on Cedar Downs tho? . . my favorite flat in the park. (and it's best if you're a bit buzzed. . shhhhhh) -
Jeffery Siebert has been all over FB Texas Thrill Seekers group this morning, teasing the SFFT 2020 addition. he's implying heavily that Boomerang, and the adjacent theater (not Lone Star Lil's, but the one that sits across from Roadrunner, and backs up to Bommerang's spires), are not long for this world. So might be an actual ride, rather than simply a re-theme of Kidzopolis to a DC hero themed area! he also said whatever is coming, there is not one currently in Texas. let the excitement begin

I go to parks all the time alone, and have no issue doing it. however, I DO try to watch myself when chatting with others in line around me (as I often get into conversations with folks around me in lines). But I don't want to be *that* guy, so while I might recommend a ride in the park as fun, I don't go into details about which seat to ride in, or why a B&M is best in the back, or any of that stuff. I've been stuck next to *that* guy before, and it's not fun. . so I try to not be that guy! -

agreed! thanks DerekRx for the coverage. -
they really did treat us all fantastic, and Jeffrey really does know how to run a park! Ron did a fantastic job leading our Cliff Walk tour too! was so happy I got to raise $$ for such a great cause, and have a fantastic time while doing it. (and since the links stay active, maybe all the participants will get a few more donations in the future, and SFFT can beat SFOT's total . . LOL) as to the endurance. . WW really takes it out of you since it's so intense in the back! I needed a quick standing break after 4 rides, then after 2 more, then again after 2. . LOL. But it was so incredible that we pretty much had it to ourselves for an hour! With all 3 trains on the track, it's about 3 minutes total to get one ride complete and to the lift hill again without leaving the train - so we did pretty good getting that many rides in the 50 minutes or so ERT (since we had to leave to walk over to IR). we certainly got enough rides in that once the park opened to all, I didn't feel any urge to get back on WW this visit

Rollo is Nestle.... nope - in the USA, it's Hershey Even looked it up on Wiki just now to make sure I'm not crazy: Rolo (pronounced /ˈrəʊləʊ/), referring to the roll-styled candy, is a brand of truncated-cone-shaped or frustum-shaped chocolates with a caramel middle. First manufactured in the United Kingdom by Mackintosh's in 1937 (followed by Rowntree's after the takeover in 1969), they are made by Nestlé, except in the United States where production has been licensed to The Hershey Company. -

part of the reason we booked our trip to St Louis was SFStL (the other reasons were City Museum and the Gateway Arch). we didn't go to any other parks, we went to Six Flags. -

I love the layout, I like the color a lot (the brown track grew on me). . the name is throwing me a bit. Six Flags has kind of made Pandemonium synonymous with a family spinning coaster in my head, so "CandyMonium" is throwing me a little bit. It's a GREAT name for a HersheyPark ride, but not 100% sure it "fits" I would have called this something like "the Full Bar" or, hell: "Hershey's Rollo Coaster" but they didn't ask ME. . LOL. Regardless, it's gonna be great, and a hit for the park. -

bert goes to Texas Theme Parks (mega thread)

so I spent Sat. at SFFT participating in Coasting for Kids in the morning, and did a separate TR for that: https://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=76951 but I didn't want to taint that TR with the worst food that I have EVER gotten at a Six Flags Park (and yes, when they emailed me the anonymous survey, I told them all about my food experience). honestly, they should have been ashamed to serve it to me. basically, after singing the praises of Chop Six for several visits (in particular the pre-made Asian Salad, which is likely the healthiest thing offered at the park, at only ~950 calories), I made the decision that I would go to Chop Six to make use of my meal plan. I wasn't that hungry, as had gotten a nice meal at the morning event, and had gotten an Oreo Shake (snack credit) at Johnny Rockets around 1pm. So I had planned to get the Salad, and if I wasn't that hungry, would just make use of the way it's packaged to bring the remainder home with me. the line was not SHORT, but it was not *massive* - as everything else over in CrackAxle was. Bubba's had a line that stretched all the way into the walkway, as did Totally Kickin Chicken, and the bar was even crowded to overflowing. in thinking about it, I think it's because Iron Rattler is doing 1-train operations, so lots of folks were hanging out in this area waiting for people who were in line to ride IR. Ended up meaning a lot of folks sticking around this section of the park. so the line didn't look too bad - but note, this was close to 3pm, and the line took me at least 35 minutes to get thru. With 3 registers open. Really pretty inexcusable. | and then when I finally got up to the window, and ordered the Asian Salad, I was told they were "out" Ok.. well, it was close to 3:30, so I had to use my dining plan for lunch by then, or lose it. So went for the only thing that was kind of healthy as an option: Beef and Broccoli (at least it's a veg) This is what I got. it's so. . . BROWN. And kind of looks like someone puked on the plate, and then a bit of mold started growing on it, as it had no big chunks of Broccoli (tho a couple of tiny pieces) - but rather it looked was sprinkled with a broccoli dust, after they had pulverized a few stems in a blender. not at all appetizing, and the guy at the window looked ashamed to give it to me. (he didn't offer me any other option tho, and really, there isn't any other "healthy-ish" option. *and* he had already scanned my card, so the lunch credit was applied. I took it hoping it would taste better than it looked (also taking several packs of Soy Sauce, Sriracha, and Sweet and Sour), and headed to a table to eat. it was VILE. I mean, truly vile, and nasty. The Beef did not appear to be stir-fried, but rather boiled. and boiled to death too, it was stringy and chewy at the same time. Absolutely disgusting. the Lo Mein had zero flavor, and also was overcooked. took two bites of the beef, and then dumped all my "sauces" on the Lo-Mein to give it SOME flavor and just ate some of that, before dumping the plate in the trash. greatly disappointed, and SFFT should be embarrassed to be serving ANYTHING of this low quality (at least it was "free" for me, the plate would have cost $15.99 for someone not on the dining plan. oh..and it gave me horrific sewer farts for about 5 hours after, even tho i didn't eat much of it. if ChopSix has the salad? I recommend it. Otherwise? avoid, avoid, avoid. all in all tho, was a *great* day, and I had a hell of a good time on the rides, for a great cause. here's a shot of me on Wonder Woman Golden Lasso (taken by the station agent, since there was no one else in queue for it during our ERT). Shows a good pic of the restraint system and how one sits on this coaster. -
thanks for that I try not to let the little stuff get to me - not always successful, but I try, since I'm out at a theme park. That's the main thing, so try to focus on that and have a good time regardless. glad you enjoyed the pics. although it was hot, I had a great time and it was for a great cause. I'm sure I'll be back real soon too, since I wanna ride the swings again (Whirlygig has been down a *long* time since they announced the retheme) - not to mention Joker when it opens!
