Hersheypark (HP) Discussion Thread
Masquerade replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
On one hand, I'm kinda bummed this means the end of the Rhineland plaza / thruway. On the other hand, they could just take my money already for 2020. -
Knoebels Discussion Thread
Masquerade replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm thinking of hitting up Knoebels to see what the hub's about (and get some research on a classified project). How are crowds on a Thursday or Friday, and how weird would it be taking a three hour drive by myself to get there (because people suck / don't have my days off / think crossing state lines for a park that's not Hershey is lame)? -
Had to be my f*cking luck that I went the day after Pompeii set itself on fire. Really a bummer as it's not a kind of ride you see outside of Universal or Disney (on the Western Hemisphere at least). Hopefully they don't turn down the pyrotechnics because of this (I first rode it in 2006 with the fire turned off and it felt incomplete compered to when I went in 2013 when the fire and effects were on). Avoided the rain at least for the most part (ducked for cover in San Marco for about an hour, but nothing more than that). Still pissed that DarKastle's facade was kinda just lying there, and Alpengeist being closed for the day was meh. The good news at least was that Nessie's got some strobe and sound effects in the tunnel, and it took me by surprise that something as small as Invadr could pack as much of a punch as it does. This and Verbolten are probably my current favorites (the two most unsuspecting ones).

Tokyo Disney Resort Discussion Thread

Totally! They do say they are going to use land in the area, but they can easily add land too! It just takes longer if they add it, because it has to settle and be compacted. Or (if it is DisneySky), have it "float" over the bay. -
Tokyo Disney Resort Discussion Thread

I've been predicting / drawing concept sketches for a Tokyo DisneySky park for years. It kinda freaks me out that it might be happening. Or not. Land/Sea/Sky is such a logical progression its almost hilarious. -

I went this past year on the 3rd weekend of August. Was a Saturday: Aside from Valravn the wait times weren't too bad actually. -

^ You know, I've lived in northern NJ all my life and I've never been up there. Obviously my life's a mistake. -
Carnival in the parking lot of a church. A couple unstable looking flat rides, some games, that was about it. Try to avoid all carnivals and fairs, personally. Even the State Fair, which might have one roller coaster (usually a wild mouse) but a ton of spinning flat rides. I'll whore myself to any coaster, but put me on a spinning flat ride and it will NOT end well for me.

Six Flags Food

The KFC down the road. I ain't spending $19 for shitty Six Flags food. Give me the $5 Fill-Up box. -
What defunct park intrigues you the most?
Masquerade replied to coaster57's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Freedomland. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freedomland_U.S.A. It'd been interesting to see how the park would have looked like if it were around today. I don't doubt the idea of Disney's America was partly inspired by this. -
Worst Ride Name

I'm of the camp that went to BGW first, so the following year when I went to BGT I was a little disappointed. I had fun mind you, but to me BGT felt like a mix of stuff you'd find in other Central Florida parks while BGW felt so unique and unlike anywhere else I'd been to before. Then again, it could all come down to which park popped your Busch Gardens cherry first.

Mean Streak about three weeks before it closed (1st visit ever to Cedar Point). I've had to up my Lexapro dosage to subside the PTSD symptoms.
