  1. Pretty much any Schwarzkopf Wildcat model...a lot have warning signs about how sudden they stop. I saw someone comment on Raptor's stop, it doesn't really stop quickly, it's just that the last turn is so close to the brake run that the laterals slam you into the headrest when the breaks engage.
  2. Everybody seemed convinced that the trains would be inverted, even though the concept drawings showed a design basically like what you see in the video. Glad to see I was right as usual.
  3. ^ I don't think a regular Morgan hyper train would work on SD2000 because their giga coaster design uses a different wheel system and track gauge than their hyper designs. And Goliath is an Intamin, so yeah, that's not gonna work either. What I think will happen (assuming it does reopen at some point) is that Morgan will just make modifications to the old train designs when they build the new trains. SD2000 is a lot trickier to fix than Wild Thing, because the accident was caused by a flaw in the train designs if I'm not mistaken, so Morgan has to be extra careful to make sure it's not a recurring thing. Wild Thing's accident was caused by a track/mounting bracket problem that should've been caught by maintenance, so it was just a matter of fixing the one train and working out whatever happened with the track.
  4. It was a semi-generic spinning ride that had a woman standing on the middle of it. The name is German, i dunno what it means though.
  5. ^ Nah, Kinzel actually said in the press release about Paramount that an announcement would be made in August.
  6. It's a lot better than a Morgan randomly chucking a wheel into a swimming pool!
  7. A shuttle coaster with 6 inversions is only counted as 6 inversions, not 12. Vekoma boomerangs have 3, even though they go through each one twice.
  8. I doubt they have a fence in front of the pond the footers are sitting in, it looks to me like they just put a fence up around the former entrance area to White Water Landing.
  9. Would a Wingwalker even be a 4D? The cars don't spin or anything, they're just way out past the edge of the track.
  10. When did Port Aventura's Wingwalker coaster become inverted? It's been listed as a sit-down on RCDB since it was announced, and all the concept drawings show it sitting above the track...
  11. "New for 2006! Mission Space: Choose Your Own Death...err...Experience!" ^I'm sure some media outlet that blows everything out of proportion will come up with some nifty slogan like that in the next couple days.
  12. A Wingwalker doesn't HAVE to be launched...all Intamin sitdown coasters use basically the same track design, maybe the one in Port Aventura will be a Stealth-type coaster with the new train design, and this one will have that type of train but possibly be a huge multilooper. I was really convinced this was gonna be a B&M...perhaps Intamin has come up with a flying coaster design? Anyoen know if they've worked on one?
  13. Selling a park doesn't mean wiping it off the face of the earth completely. The five parks are all too large and profitable to just be torn down, it's not going to happen.
  14. This looks to be the best Accelerator coaster so far, in my opinion.
  15. I think this will actually be good for Wyandot Lake. It's a nice little park with a lot of potential, it just gets overshadowed by the bigger parks in Ohio. It'd help bring more people to the zoo as well.
  16. ^ Sounds kinda like when Dragster first opened, when it would rollback they'd be all "OMG ROLLBACK SHUT IT DOWN AND INSPECT" and now they're just kinda like "meh..." and have it back up within a couple minutes.
  17. The stuff I read on the incident said he hadn't met the height requirement, so if that's not true, my bad. I agree though, the media loves taking a shot at Disney over anything, even a minor incident like that guy who got stuck between the boat and the dock on the riverboat ride a while back.
  18. If the ride was really dangerous and the killing machine that the media is trying to make it out to be, don't you think that the deaths would consist of more than one boy who DIDN'T MEET THE HEIGHT REQUIREMENT and had a PRE-EXISTING CONDITION, and one woman who presumably had a pre-existing condition as well? Confuscius say Mission Space no do anything bad to you if you healthy!
  19. High-maintenance ride at a park with a history of poor maintenance on their rides. I'm really not surprised.
  20. Well, from looking at pictures that a friend of mine obtained by err...questionable methods...I can say that right now there isn't really much to see, save a few footers (maybe a dozen maximum) and LOTS of dirt piles. Yeah, I know...YAY DIRT PILE PICS! I might be heading up there on May 21st, I'll post a photo TR if I do.
  21. For me it's a pretty generalized, common-sense type thing...I don't count powered coasters, but for anything else, I just think that the track/vehicle design has to bear some resemblence to a coaster. 1st gen freefalls, log flumes, etc., aren't really designed or marketed as coasters, so I don't count them even though some people do.
  22. As long as it's powered by gravity at some point, it doesn't matter if it has a lift or not.
  23. Maybe the residents are just anti-Vekoma.
  24. I dunno why, but for some reason I think somebody really, REALLY wants me to email Dan.
  25. It's always been my opinion that if it isn't on your property, you shouldn't be able to do anything about it.
