  1. Great report! Sounds like an awesome trip. Thoroughly enjoyed reading your opinions and the photos!
  2. I'm not sure how they're going to pull this off. Not because of staffing, but because of lack of attendance during the slow weeks. I wouldn't be surprised if they bleed some money on this one. But I do wish them luck with this decision!
  3. Buy your 2018 platinum pass at Carowinds and you will get 1 free ticket for Carowinds for 2017 (not Scarowinds). A 2018 pass is not good for unlimited visits in 2017. What is the advantage to buying it at Kings Dominion? (Unless you planned on using the free ticket for this year at Kings Dominion instead of Carowinds)
  4. They turned that into the fast lane staircase, no more single rider line.
  5. Yes I'm aware it's one time use for previous season. I actually purchased at Wonderland due to the exchange rate savings. I'm just excited enough that I blew hundreds of dollars 9 months before I'll get to actually ride the thing. lol
  6. errr... uhhh... (taken at Wonderland, lol) -- so ridiculous. also: we watched the the Cirque Canadien show, it was absolutely hilarious. The stereotypes, just, wow... hockey players making music with their sticks? Check. Raccoons doing sketch comedy? Check. Lumberjacks doing flips? Check.
  7. Stop quoting yourself. Stop quoting yourself. They took down the website shortly after putting it up and me taking that screenshot, but I'm 100% sure they are fixing this and they will have Sunday haunts after all. Mainly because if you go to buy a fright lane you can purchase it for super cheap on Sundays (like previous years) because there is nobody there
  8. Awesome report! Looks like a great park that I knew very little about. Might try to make a Texas trip next year...
  9. Not a Carowinds expert but crowds won't be as bad as you think. It's a Saturday so it won't be as empty as a Sunday, but it's also a Scarowinds day so most people riding adult rides will probably be there in the evening. In my opinion. We did a weekend in October and lines were non existent during the day, granted that was a Sunday, but September is a great time to go to parks across the country if they have a separate admission evening event.
  10. : sigh : Hope everyone is alright. Disgusting comments. I wish my curiosity didn't get the best of me. It would have been one thing if it was just one idiot, but seriously, what the hell? Makes me sad.
  11. Last year Labor Day Saturday we got there an hour early (oops! Time change!) and processed our new season passes at opening time which took about 15 minutes and then got our platinum flash passes which we pre-paid for but the line was still about 15 min to pick it up from the prepay line (the regular line seemed the same, or possibly shorter to be honest with you). No video. Remember there is also a discount for not prepaying with a season pass. Doesn't have to be your home park. Also check your coupons in the six flags app... my brother had an 'add a person free' coupon good for ANY parks flash pass (though it didn't specify regular/gold/platinum) so that could save you a boatload of money. It wasn't on my GrAM pass, however, it was on his SFNE pass. It clearly specified it was good at any park. Edit: nevermind it says REGULAR only for the free guest one. But if you are going gold or platinum the regular $5/person discount applies.
  12. Yeah, I don't get it either. Even the POV just makes it feel like a turn. Why the huge saucer spectacle if none of the saucer is even being used? *shrug* Anyway, certainly great additions, and the racer looks like a ton of fun too.
  13. No mazes on Sundays anymore? I know they never did the scarezones but it was the best time to go for the haunts with little to no lines... -- hopefully the haunt schedule just needs to be updated, or because everything isn't open they aren't considering it a haunt day but the mazes will still be open? Can anyone who works at Cedar Point clarify?
  14. Amazing report as always. I hope SF Great America has some hotties next weekend for their special event like that Allegiant employee you snapped a photo of... Homie needs to get f**ked.
  15. You also have to remember there is usually a perk for the previous year for buying early. I know at Wonderland and Cedar point if you renewed you got a FL+ for the current season (no Saturdays at CP) and if you were a new passholder you got a ticket for the current season. Something to keep in mind.
  16. Great report as always! Lmao at the sloth comment. Oh, and love Britt's shirt. You know I used to work for SeaWorld and never really knew anything about the food/beer situation at Dine w/ Shamu. That really is a steal. Still haven't been on Mako but it looks really fun. I agree with everything you say about Manta. Love that thing. Curious if you guys have ever considered doing Discovery Cove? I've been there 4 times, bringing different people each time, and everyone has always loved it and found it well worth the money. It's awesome even if you don't want to fork over the money for the Dolphin Swim (i know you're not waterpark people, but seriously swimming with the giant ray's alone is worth it and completely AWESOME... plus unlimited food and alcoholic drinks! It's a resort, not a waterpark, and there is a ton to see; more than just the dolphins). I just looked it up and pricing it is structured a bit different than it used to be (it looks like it's now $25 more to add Busch gardens and parking for SeaWorld/Aquatica/Busch) but it also looks like they have a drink upgrade package too if you want Sangria and other fancier stuff than standard beer, etc.)) but you get admission to SeaWorld / Busch Gardens / Aquatica included plus the food is above average. This ain't no SeaWorld ray petting! And a video I made 5 years ago... which doesn't even touch upon the aviary or the river... Worth the price especially during slow season. I recommend it, let me know if you have any questions. Not trying to sound like an advertisement, I just think it's a hidden gem of Orlando that nobody knows about. Keep up the great reports!
  17. The best way to judge crowds in the future is by looking at the flash pass pricing, IMO. They have 4 tiers, A being the most expensive/ most crowded projection and D being the least expensive / least crowded projection). Interestingly they put Magic Mountain on a tier C flash pass for those days. I would have thought it would be more crowded (we call it 'hell week' in Orlando and it's the busiest time of the year) but I guess the west coast may be different? *shrugs* -- so while it won't be completely empty it should be manageable. But I'm not a SFMM expert by any means. Also I'd imagine some rides and / or trains will be in rehab, but again, I'm no expert
  18. The Econo-Lodge at the end of the causeway wasn't terrible... (it wasn't as weird as the other Econo-apartment-suite that Bill stayed at ) -- I stayed there earlier this year... the price was right for the location ($71 for a Saturday night... granted that was at the end of May) and the reviews aren't terrible either (so don't just take my word for it.). It was the next step up from the Rodeway Inn's for the Choice Hotel brand, which I would never in my right mind stay at especially in Sandusky after reading ANY review. Love their actual tagline... "Forget fancy!"
  19. Having no countdown would be amazing. I've only been on one of those slides but was (slightly) disappointed that there was a countdown. Those Alpine slides are fun as hell. I've only been on one when I was much younger, and with the recent influx of (much safer) Alpine coasters I'm surprised those slides are still around. That place looks like somewhere I'd want to check out in the future. Great surroundings, too.
  20. Awesome report and especially the photos! Keep up the awesome work; subscribing to this thread for sure for some more awesomeness 8)
  21. Well it took about 5 tries over the course of a few visits but I finally got Skyhawk to flip today! Damn that thing gets you dizzy once you get going! Shoulders are a little bruised too but so worth it!
