  1. "get your towels ready, it's about to go down!" (in complete seriousness, your comment was perfect and I shouldn't have made another attempt at quoting a song about a boat, a far inferior song at that.. and for that, I'm sorry, but I also applaud you)
  2. What were some of the questions on the survey?
  3. That doesn't sound like something Cedar Point would do to one of it's premium attractions. I feel like all the extra renovations to Hotel Breakers really put a strain on the park getting everything ready by opening day. On the plus side, the hotel looks tremendous.
  4. How was the line? I'd also like to know where you compare it compared to the other coasters at the Point, but it might be a bit early for that.
  5. This thing looks ridiculous. I can't wait to see the finished product, once they take the bubble wrap off.
  6. Granted I've only ever been once, and it was a few years ago but the day we went in the end of July both it and Raptor had pretty similar sizable lines early in the morning, I thought I wouldn't get to try them all in one day but luckily I was with friends who knew the park better and we got both credits with a walk-on in the late afternoon. My first day at Cedar Point back in 04', I waited about an hour and a half for Mantis... Second coaster I rode at the park and I had a sinking feeling that Cedar Point wasn't all it was cracked up to be. Luckily Top Thrill Dragster changed that shortly thereafter.
  7. It think it pays off in about 4-5 meals. When I process my Platinum pass, can I do the Meal Plan add on?
  8. Not the most enthusiastic bunch.
  9. I'm sorry that my generalized comment insulted you personally. That being said, you, YES YOU, could easily afford a Fast Pass system. It's your choice to hit up 4 parks instead of 2 or 3 with some sort of line cutting system. We all make these choices when we go to amusement parks.
  10. A vast majority of park goers do have a choice to get Fast Lane or Fast Lane Plus, if they so choose. Just sacrifice the daily Starbucks or put away some change. I've never used Fast Lane or Fast Lane plus, despite easily being able to afford it. Let's not start feeling bad about those that don't get it, or we should start feeling for the people that can't afford to make it out to the park at all. With Cedar Fair buying all these high capacity B&M's, it's kinda offsetting the added wait from Fast Lane anyways. You were right! That's some wicked foresight.
  11. The park has been making general improvements for the last 9 years.
  12. Right now, I'm thinking that they're expanding the parking lot to that area so they can remove part of the current lot for future park expansion, but they did just start the land clearing, so it's really anyone's guess at this point. New entrance + crazy awesome B&M invert.
  13. Exactly how many hours would you say that line is?? Twitter reports are saying they waited right around 2 hours.
  14. By most accounts the latest B&M's have been a step up from GateKeeper. Hopefully this Dive Machine that we're hearing about helps restore the name Sandusky to all of it's former glory. I'd love a DC that people marvel at.
  15. Those speed slides are going to be ridiculous. The area is looking fantastic.
  16. DiveHawk 223. You've never been a great eugoogoolizer though, so all is forgiven.
  17. Based on the recent reviews, this post is seriously hilarious with how misinformed it was.
  18. Carowinds went all out on this coaster. Can't wait for the reviews to start rolling in later this week.
  19. From my experience, while BGW isn't nearly as consistently crowded as Cedar Point, it can still draw some large crowds on busier days. Keep in mind, however, that Cedar Point has almost three times as many coasters as BGW, and Wicked Twister probably isn't even in the top third in popularity at the park. Its train also carries almost twice as many riders as Tempesto's. Wicked Twister used to be my go to coaster at Cedar Point. Never had a line so you could ride it over and over again. Adding GateKeeper, and the continued improvements of that midway have changed that. Still not hugely popular, but no longer a walk on. Back when Cedar Point used to give those front of the line passes, I was marathoning Wicked Twister with my cousin when it broke down. They gave everyone in line those passes, and we got to bypass an almost two hour wait at Millennium Force. All for a walk on. As for Tempesto, it looks a lot better than I thought it would. I'm sure it's going to be a fun ride, but the line is going to be brutal.
  20. Carowinds new entrance sign has arrived according to their Twitter.
  21. There are more options today then there was 5 years ago. Something like YOLO at Magic Mountain would do awesome at Valleyfair, and it has a less hefty price tag than the big B&M's.
  22. In completely related news, Tony Clark rode Fury 325 today.
  23. Pretty sure Tony Clark was in Florida recently, maybe to ride the other Dive Coaster. This wouldn't shock me, as I know they had some people riding X-Flight prior to installing GateKeeper.
