  1. All... 300 of them? I'm sure (with some decent weather) this opening will be busier than most, but not because of enthusiasts. Enthusiasts make up such a small percentage of park visitors. I'd bet that if not one enthusiast went opening day, the average wait for Fury would be less than one train shorter. You're underestimating the excitement this coaster will bring to non coaster enthusiasts. If I'm not mistaken, Kings Island was ridiculously busy early in the season because of Banshee.
  2. This post sums up my thoughts perfectly. Cedar Point has arguably the best coaster collection even without GateKeeper, what it didn't have was a quality entrance. The amount of excitement you'd have after driving up the causeway would quickly get replaced by the image of an outdated front gate. Cedar Point made a statement with GateKeeper. It's my fourth favorite coaster in the park, and yet I'd probably take it over Maverick (my favorite) because of the capacity, updated gate, and views of the lake.
  3. That list is not at all shocking. I know, I personally ride GateKeeper more than any of the other coasters in the park per visit. It also has extremely good capacity. This is why Cedar Point wants another B&M. In 2016 it might go GateKeeper, MF, Dive Machine, Raptor, Rougarou..
  4. They mean tallest and fastest of coasters between 300 and 400 feet, not overall tallest and fastest. They need to clarify. Hopefully they did.
  5. Let's talk about a conversion that's actually happening. Rougarou is going to be quite the addition to Cedar Point. Always wanted the park to go with a floorless, and I never liked the Stand up design. Add a B&M Dive Machine next year, and Cedar Point is giving us a lot of new reasons to come back (as if Maverick wasn't enough)
  6. I'm looking forward to the rides.. if you know what I mean. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bqtwh1yZgC4
  7. Cedar Point is the only park that could have a proposed 223 foot tall dive coaster that drops into a tunnel at 80 MPH, has FOUR inversions, and over 3600 feet of track be a disappointing addition. I'm excited for it. People seem to like Shiekra and Griffon enough. This coaster should be substantially better than either of those.
  8. Pretty sure you can get those processed at any Cedar Fair park.
  9. I will be doing Cedar and Kings this year, looking forward to some great coasters. I'll be going to Canada's Wonderland for the first time. I may do Cedar Point and Kings Island as well. It's going to be a good season! That splash pad is a little disappointing
  10. Got my Platinum pass today! Looking forward to some Cedar Fair fun. Also excited for these water slides, as I've always been a water park fan and have yet to go to anything better than Cedar Points (which is mediocre)
  11. If the memo is correct, it will break all the records I mentioned. It's going to be over 220 feet tall, reach 80 mph, have four inversions, and be right around 3600 feet. So it won't be extremely long but it will have substantially more substance after the main drop than either Shiekra or Griffon. ^^ Gatekeeper will be longer than this coaster. Also worth noting that Cedar Point is going with the 8 across trains instead of the 10 across. Hope that means it flys through these elements
  12. In that case, you're likely wrong. These are the same people that leaked GateKeeper. I'm not saying it's set in stone, but I'm feeling pretty good about it. They didn't remove the theater for nothing, and they haven't been posting pictures of that spot for no reason via social media. A dive coaster would be absolutely perfect for Cedar Point because of it's good reliability and high capacity, it's also quite easy to market. The tallest, fastest, and longest dive machine on the planet! 4 inversions! Another competitor on Insane Coaster Wars... Cedar Point vs Magic Mountain debates raging on for all eternity. I've said this before, but I just hope these B&M's (Dive, Rou, GK) shorten my wait at Maverick.
  13. I don't even see a resemblance between the two. The Dive Machine is over 220 feet tall and has a vertical drop, short and wide trains, and will go 80 MPH into a tunnel. I've been wanting a drop coaster at Cedar Point for a while. One of the most exciting prospects is seeing how the addition of a Dive Machine would divide up the lines for Maverick, Dragster, and Millennium. Looking through the dive machines, this would be the tallest and fastest - what about inversions?
  14. There's not a better coaster choice than a Dive Machine. I've been hoping that's the route Cedar Point goes with the next coaster. 15 Million seems a little light in the pocket for a coaster from Cedar Point, but it is still enough to make a great addition the coaster lineup.
  15. Sounds like it could be great. Hopefully that isn't that next coaster related Cedar Point does, though. America's Rockin' Roller Coast needs an epic NEW coaster. You don't think an Iron Horsed Mean Streak would be epic?? I honestly don't see what else CP could put in that would top the prospect of an RMC conversion of Mean Streak. They already have pretty much everything, except a 4D which I highly doubt they'd ever put in. I want a new B&M of some kind. I'm all about the capacity for Cedar Point. A brand new Dive Machine would do the trick, and hopefully lower the wait time on my beautiful Maverick. I'd also rather Cedar Point didn't follow the lead of a certain Gurnee park in another attraction. The Roller Coast needs to lead, not follow

  17. I didn't think so, I've been to Cedar Point during peak season a few times, and outside of my first ever trip back in 05 (2 hours for Mantis...) - I've never had a problem.
  18. Thank you EastCoastKid, mightypotato, and everyone else that contributed in answering my questions. You guys rock. My only real concern is all that traffic. Sounds awful.
  19. Thank you nicman. I know you guys are expecting a new coaster in two years, but I'm also expecting a new coaster at Valleyfair and Cedar Point (maybe wishful thinking?) so I was planning on hitting up CW this season. I'm pretty cheap, so I don't expect to get Fast Lane or Fast Lane plus or hit up Marine Land, especially after seeing a few reactions here. I've heard this park is smaller than Cedar Point, so I'm hoping to be able to hit up all the big attractions in two days, even during peak season. Is that a realistic goal? I know the capacity of the coasters isn't exactly top notch (outside of the big 2). Also, I was hoping for some info on single rider lines. This might be my first solo trip The other stuff you mentioned outside of the park sound like things I'd be interested in; CN Tower, Niagra Falls, and maybe the zoo. Can anyone (presumably older) talk about the nightlife? Where can I get one of those strong Canadian Beers I've heard so much about?
  20. Hello kind people of Canada, I'm making a trip up to Canada's Wonderland next year. Now, I could just google the answer - but I'm looking for things to do outside the park, and also the best way to circumnavigate the park to avoid long lines. Thanks in advance!
  21. No because he said it's a rumor, and has said that he really doesn't know anything. Why does everyone bust their hump trying to solve these riddles The old industry adage is "those that know don't talk, those that talk don't know."
  22. I don't know about that. I think Mantis with floorless trains would be a lot of fun but I'm sure Raptor would still be lightyears ahead of it. Personally I love Gatekeeper despite the amazing amount of hate that it gets so I have a hard time believing Floorless Mantis would be better than that either though many people would probably disagree with me on that. I would take take Mantis in its current state over gatekeeper! Thats just me. GK is super smooth and a very pretty ride. Just doesn't do it for me. Raptor hands down is the best B&M at CP Srs? I'd rank GateKeeper above Raptor, and I'd put it just behind Millenium Force & forth overall at the park. That first drop is quite intense, and fun. The seating arrangements are unique to the park, and fun. The keyholes are fun. The weightlessness you get on the slow role on the way back is unique to the ride. Overall, it's a FUN (did I say that enough?) ride that I couldn't get enough of on my last trip to the park. I love the capacity too.
  23. Or a regular sized Windseeker... Doubt it happens though, because of there notorious downtime.
  24. My only complaint is that I wanted a tornado bowl slide of some kind. I actually prefer what Valleyfair got to the slide complex that Dorney is getting. This looks much more thrilling. I'm excited to try these new slides. Edit - Guess the kids area could have been improved a little bit too. Still excited for this addition.
  25. Uh oh, they didn't say anything about 2015 in the announcement of the announcement. If I learned one thing from Cedar Point, it means they won't actually announce anything.
