  1. For some reason, all three of the wood coasters have suffered larger than normal downtime this season. I have no idea why but the Legend and Voyage in particular were sometimes going down for a large portion or all day. I don't ever remember prior seasons being this bad for downtime.
  2. The last time I was at the park about a month ago, Diamondback's crews were much better than they were in May. They hit 45ish second dispatches consistently. No other coaster in the park except maybe Firehawk has slow crews. Kings Island is good at their operations.
  3. Raptors colors are fine, it just needs a new coat of paint. It doesn't need a new color scheme.
  4. Looks fantastic. Hopefully one day I can make it out to this park!
  5. It is a vest with a buckle in the middle around the chest area as well as a lap bar. They're not as comfortable as the B&M flyers, but not too tight to be uncomfortable. Pic from Wikipedia
  6. Why do we have to decide which is best? Why can't we just enjoy each one's unique characteristics Maverick is probably my favorite though
  7. I was really hoping the god-awful "lap-shin bars" were going to be reverted back to the normal hyper bars but at least the coaster getting a refurbishment of some sorts. Makes me wonder how much of the Bizarro theming will be changed or removed. Maybe even some new theming?
  8. It looks to match Wicked Cyclone's airtime intensity. What a great layout!
  9. Well, at least it's something unique to this side of the U.S. I agree that the name isn't good or the Full Throttle theming is unappealing, but the ride looks fun. To say that this ride sucks is a little premature. Cue the "disappointment" posts in 3..2..1...
  10. ^^ I completely understand and agree with your point. I haven't visited SFSTL since American Thunder (at the time it was Evil Knievel) opened. Why haven't I been back? Because there hasn't been a good enough reason to. Let's just be honest about the park's coaster collection, it's bad. Except for maybe Screamin' Eagle, all of the non-clones suck. The clones, while some are good, are obviously clones and don't have originality to give the park character/a clear identity. To me, BTR, Freeze, and American Thunder are not good enough reasons to come back. Justice Leauge did capture my attention, I'm not rushing to get back to the park because of a shooting dark ride (which apparently has almost been closed more than its been open). Obviously the first answer that people expect is a coaster, but with the business model St. Louis seems to be following, who knows when or what it'll be. Infrastructure improvements are always positive for the park, but there's still a lot of work to. There are so many better parks that are just an hour or two farther drive for me, so I hope SFSTL will make me want to come back one day.
  11. Trying not to reciprocate what the previous poster said but I am directly answering your questions: 1) A locker is the best bet for storing any valuables all day, including clothing. 2) I would expect pretty large crowds considering it is the unofficial last weekend of summer. Saturdays have been pulling in lots of people compared to previous years. You should hit the Voyage before going to the water park, arrive as it is about to open, and knock out Wildebeest + Mammoth before the herd of people arrive. 3) You should definitely hit up Gobbler Getaway since it is unique to the park. Everything else is something you can find at other parks in case it is not your priority to ride all of the flat rides. If you think you can handle it, try every wooden coaster at least once. Holiday World has one of (if not the best) collection of wooden coasters. All three are ranked highly among the general populous of enthusiasts (save for maybe the Legend). Thunderbird is a must since it will be easier to re-ride and obviously it is the new steel coaster. Hope this helps and you enjoy your visit!
  12. ^ The No Limits team responded to requests about RMC rails and trains saying that they are "on their list." Personally this has been the best update yet because it dramatically improved the frame rate for me. I also really like the Infinity trains and am playing around with different layouts.
  13. While I think the game overall looks leagues better than the trailer from March, I still am not a fan of the how the track looks so far. I know that this is still pre-alpha and it can change toward the final release, but the wood and steel tracks both look odd. That being said, the supports look great for an RCT game!
  14. Wednesday September 9, at 9am ET is the official announcement. Source: Tony's Twitter
  15. Come to Silverwood, Aftershock has the original trains and it's awesome. I haven't ridden the new trains, so I don't know if there's a difference; maybe you'd think it was crap either way. I thought it was super intense, especially going through the loop backward, and the chevron seating gives the two front passengers a hell of a ride! Trust me, I absolutely want to experience Aftershock or Stunt Fall. It seems like it would be much better than a regular Boomerang or Invertigo. However, I got the polar opposite experience with Goliath. I've heard it is a little better in the front, but I am not rushing back to SFNE solely to ride it (although I am rushing to get back to Wicked Cyclone and Bizarro)
  16. Ugh... I was hoping they dropped that train off the forklift or something and damaged it beyond repair. I really really REALLY wish I could've experienced Goliath with its old trains, because the ride was crap when I rode it this past July.
  17. Well September 11 may be the next announcement date then... Of course it could be the following week because that could possibly be the announcement for the announcement (annoucement-ception)
  18. I'd say it is fairly unlikely that the coaster is going to be something on the level of El Toro or Kingda Ka. Not saying that it is impossible by any means, but I cannot recall any investment Six Flags has made in the last 7-8 years that was more than $10-12 million besides X-Flight. Six Flags seems to have adopted a new strategy with their parks where they can theoretically add 2-3 new coasters in the chain (since you would include an RMC makeover as a new coaster) by keeping all of their coasters at a smaller budget. And just because the price tag is not near B&M or Intamin does not mean the ride won't be as good by any means. Case in point: S&S, Premier, and RMC. As for my take on the speculation, I'd have to buy into the S&S freespin rumor. With ten inversions, this would seem to solve the complaint that BTR had at Fiesta Texas and they would hold the record for the most inversions in North America. Seems like a pretty marketable investment to me.
  19. The first picture they put out made me think Triotech dark ride, but the second leaves me a little confused... Maybe a full retrack of the Racer and returning to the original paint scheme?
  20. Heard it from my friends that it was packed Saturday and fairly crowded Sunday. I'd expect it to be worse for Rock the World, but lesser crowds Sunday.
  21. While I'm not able to celebrate it today, I was able to get in many laps on Thunderbird and some on the other three a few days ago. Minus yesterday evening, the weather has been beautiful this past week for coaster riding!
  22. I'm assuming they didn't give details on the coaster manufacturer, but the track looks like it could be Intamin. That seems a little odd considering most of WDW's coasters are almost all Vekoma. Looks like Star Wars Land and Toy Story Land look to be exactly the kind of revamp HWS needs. Great-looking concept art!
  23. There were two trains on The Bat Thursday during my visit. Must've been a quick fix.
  24. I'd figure B&M would maybe do a floorless train with their new wing rider vest harnesses before seeking a third-party vendor for their own product. Of course, who knows if B&M has much, or any, involvement in this refurbishment?
  25. I read a few news articles and talked to many people who knew about it already today. Nearly everyone is agreeing that the park is at zero fault for the situation. I'm glad that most of the media is handling the situation with integrity. I'm also happy to see Raptor has already reopened.
