  1. Why the heck would anyone need a Fast Lane for Wave Swinger? Even if the line's full it only takes 15-20 minutes to get through.
  2. I just get soft serve because my very sensitive teeth have problems with "real" ice cream. I mean, I know I can get soft serve at any Dairy Queen, but I still like to get it at parks. I do agree, Knoebels has some very good ice cream. I seem to remember Disney World's as being pretty good too. The stuff I ended up getting at Six Flags Great Adventure, which they said was soft serve but that's debatable, was of a very bad consistency and didn't taste that great.
  3. I noticed last year on my little park trip (SFGAdv, Knoebels, Dorney) that, besides Knoebels, it was hard as hell to find a place in the other two parks that served soft-serve ice cream. Especially SFGAdv! I finally found a place at Dorney, but never found one at Six Flags. It was all scooped ice cream. I know this may be trivial to most people. I like to have a soft serve in the evening, and just walk around for a while when i go to parks. Just to take in the lights, the atmosphere... But it seems like Six Flags parks only do Ben & Jerrys. I'm going to 10 parks this summer (KD, BGE, SFOG, Carowinds, Holiday World, SFStL, WoF, SFGAm, and SFGAdv again) and am hoping not to have the same problem again. Seems like I might still at the Six Flags Parks. Anyone else have this problem?
  4. I think what is being said is that there's still a lot of bureaucratic stuff to go through. State approval of the tax breaks or whatever.
  5. A more efficient Volcano would be fantastic. I think the shortest amount of time I ever waited for it was on it's opening day, when I was on the third train open to the public. (Although I waited 3 hours for the rope to drop to get to the ride, so... also the longest wait for it?)
  6. I'm sure it will go/is going around 50 MPH or so. No need to start calling it Zzzz-Flight yet.
  7. I've always considered Hersheypark a theme park. It's got themed sections, after all; ones that true, used to be themed better than they are now. I remember when Midway America first opened and it was 1920s themed. It still sort of is, but the whole waterpark area sort of messed that up. Minetown seems more rustic, which is why it's my favorite area. Music Box Way has fared to worst, as I believe it used to be 50s themed, right? Can't really tell that anymore. I mean sure, Cedar Point has some themed areas, but most of the park is just ____ Midway. Besides the western area in the back of the park, it's not themed, whereas Hersheypark is themed throughout. Comet Hollow notwithstanding. I tend to think most regional parks are abandoning themeing areas, going more towards themeing individual rides. At least, that's Cedar Fair and Six Flags' way nowadays. I don't think Cedar Fair even puts the area names on the maps anymore for the former Taft/Paramount parks.
  8. I loved dinosaurs until they discovered a lot of them were covered in feathers. Not into bird-watching.
  9. ^ In fact, just retheme or spruce up the whole Fiesta Italia section altogether! It's the least well themed area in the park. (Still much better than 90% of other parks though.)
  10. Looks like another winner for BGE! Looks like they're doing better with the landscaping than they did with Griffon, which to me, in comparison to other rides in the park, looks like it was just plopped down. Still greatly landscaped compared to pretty much any other park though. Hopefully I'll get there this year to ride Verbolten. I only live two hours away, but with 9 other parks on my list for this year, and general admission being so much at BGE this is the lowest on my list still.
  11. If it's done the right way, it doesn't cause anyone any real distraction or annoyance, like my experience with the Flash Pass system. However, if it's done wrong, like letting people go up the exit ramp, choose their own seat (come on, you know they'll most likely pick the front), and not merge at the station, I don't like it. It annoys me when I'm all set to be the next to ride, and then I'm not able to. Especially bad when it's done to me 3 times in a row, like I had happen to me at Busch Gardens a few years ago. (Though I don't know if that was the same sorta thing. People went up to the exit with these passes and it was like a constant stream of people doing it.)
  12. El Dorado and Treasure Cave have been closed at Kings Dominion.
  13. States really need to enact some "I was here first" laws. Ones that say you chose to build beside a noisy theme park, don't come crying to us. Busch Gardens Europe has the same problems. They can't build wood coasters because some people build houses right outside the park boundaries and complain even about the steel coasters when they go to build one.
  14. I always expected them to have intense heat at that part sort of like the temperature control part of Test Track at EPCOT. Sucks that the spinning is gone. Was the best part of the ride to me. Not that excited to ride it again without it.
  15. Well, two of the above aren't even rock bands, but more contemporary christian artists. BarlowGirl could be considered christian rock though, and have been pretty popular for about six years or so, though I'm not a fan.
  16. I'm wondering if I should go at all this year. I've never been, but the only time I'd be able to go is early August, and by then, they're only open until like 6 PM on weekdays, and 7 on Sundays. Is there enough time to do it all in one day with only 7 1/2 hours in the park? I don't know how crowds are there.
  17. Are they still planning those two flythroughs, or did they scrap them?
  18. One of the worst problems with yellow. Dirt shows up on it big time. Yuck! (And yellow is like my second favorite color.)
  19. ^ Thank god Spongebob is gone! It was there, what, like 10 years? I think it's about time to get rid of the simulator, myself. Put a nice flat ride or two there, or a small coaster. Simulators are passe and don't seem to draw crowds like they used to.
  20. Well, it certainly has more of a chance of making you get sick, what with all the spinning. I guess that could be deemed more thrilling.
  21. That valley between the first drop and the zero G roll looks like it's going to produce some killer positive Gs. Maybe it's just the angle.
  22. That's good to know. Guess it was just forgotten in regards to the website. Thanks.
  23. How long has the Falling Star been gone from the park? It's not listed on their website, but it's on the 09 and 10 maps. (SFA hasn't updated the map on their website since 09) If it is truly gone, they've lost about 6 or 7 flat rides in the past 10 years.
  24. Nice. Was just looking for the updated map a few days ago. By the way, anyone know why they haven't connected the back waterpark area with a path that leads between Ricochet and Hurler yet? I mean, it would lead like right to the changing rooms.
  25. ^ I think that was for a forthcoming hotel/resort. It's on the other side of the parking lot/toll booths.
