  1. There is absolutely no way Grizzly is faster than Gold Striker. Grizzly is 17' shorter than Gold Striker, there just isn't enough momentum to pass Gold Striker.
  2. Dive Machine already ruled out by people 'in the know'. Is this better?
  3. Give them a break, at least they finally figured out the #1 woodie.
  4. Granted, but a plane hits it from the nearby San Jose Int'l on opening day. I wish I was a king with absolute power.
  5. From looking at the 2nd photo, it looks like the drop isn't vertical. This isn't like a Dive Machine at all as they are all vertical or very close to vertical (e.g. Oblivion). I'm not a big fan of the double corkscrew as it screams Arrow, though other than those two, I find this to be a pretty good NL coaster. I really like the overbank and there is really good speed throughout the ride. (Also, a little more compact doesn't hurt, this is KBF after all. )
  6. The GTA is a biast poll (*cough* Cedar Point *cough*) with supposed highly traveled people. I wouldn't trust with what they say as this is just a matter of opinion and there is no right answer. However, I'm not surprised that Dollywood beat SFFT.
  7. I think it probably will be a large attraction replacing PP (like a Dive Machine) since they quickly took PP out and it is still is September.
  8. http://www.wetnwildsydney.com.au/ http://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/national/sydney-get-ready-for-the-slide-of-your-life/story-fndo317g-1226468482771
  9. Technic Coaster (Legoland California) - 3 hours ago.
  10. I don't know where you heard that from, but the Joker goes 31 mph.
  11. Apparently, Windseeker was stuck at the top: http://abclocal.go.com/kabc/story?section=news/local/orange_county&id=8803145
  12. That car design looks really good. I'm glad they didn't just choose the generic car design found in all of SF's Pandemoniums.
  13. Granted, but you'll get sick of your fans. I wish I was a General Manager of a large American amusement park.
  14. Tatsu - Cost on RCDB page X2 - Linky Terminator - Cost on RCDB page Green Lantern/Superman: EFK - Estimated numbers, DDD costed $9 million (according to RCDB), so I don't expect ZacSpins to cost much more. Superman's transformation probably costed much less than X2 since the trains and paint would both have a much smaller cost on Superman than X2. Trains are cheaper because they are much smaller and less complicated. Paint is cheaper because Superman has a smaller structure than X2. Lex Luthor - It shouldn't cost much since SFMM didn't build a big cylinder but rather use Superman's structure, so costs will be much less. I don't expect this to be more than $10 million. Full Throttle - Superman (SFDK) costed $6 million, so I wouldn't expect Full Throttle to cost anymore than $15 million. It would be much more expensive than Superman because of the longer length and more trains, but since Superman was pretty "cheap", I would expect Full Throttle to not cost much. Also, Full Throttle doesn't have that long of a length. Sky Screamer - I really don't think this costs more than $10 million. See, I don't post numbers just from the air, I have sources to back it up.
  15. I agree, if you look at SFMM's recent history of new rides, they are relatively cheap after Tatsu. 2006 - Tatsu ($21 million) 2007 - Nothing 2008 - X2 ($10 million) 2009 - Terminator ($10 million) 2010 - Nothing 2011 - Green Lantern/Superman: EFK ($10 - 15 million) 2012 - Lex Luthor (less than $10 million) 2013 - Full Throttle (around $15 million) 2014 - Some speculation it will be Sky Screamer (less than $10 million) Six Flags management is definitely doing the "quantity over quality" strategy. So, I doubt we'll see anything very major anytime soon.
  16. Apocalypse has some good abrupt floater airtime on that first small hill, but it really doesn't have that much airtime after that.
  17. Six Flags calls this pile of junk theming.
  18. I'm crying because Boomerang is still standing...
  19. How about a dive machine with a beyond vertical drop? Knott's can then have the title of steepest coaster in California. I think B&M would be able to put a little more creativity into their dive machine.
  20. A full-fledged dive machine could fit just in PP's location (and maybe Coasters Diner included) if the first 200' drop goes right into the splashdown like Krake.

I wonder why nobody takes photos of the sides of signs... Something is wrong... Hey! Bikini lady! Go defeat the Joker on the Empire State Building. Ya, I'm talking about the real one, not the Vegas mini version. No, Disney fanboys, this isn't the Pirates of the Caribbean hotel. 2 Chrysler Buildings, 1 Photo
  23. Here's the Pirate Reef (Legoland California) sign:
  24. Looks nice, I'm surprised by all the theming Six Flags put in this coaster. I wouldn't be shocked if only half of the "promised" theming is put in.
