  1. Steel wheels! Yay! Not only will it make GS amazing, but it will give Prudential a bigger headache.
  2. Rye Playland turning into Legoland New York sounds fantastic. I think that if this becomes true, that most of the coasters and old rides will remain as Legoland did a good job transforming Cypress Gardens. Another good thing is if this becomes LLNY, then Super Flight will leave due to it being an adult coaster. So, I will be happy about one less Volare.
  3. I'll definitely be there on opening day (most likely the afternoon). It's good to see how they are opening the hotel before Memorial Day.
  4. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that when I went on Apocalypse, I saw some re-bar that looked like it's for Full Throttle's footers.
  5. I agree with this, Slingshot just doesn't look good in photos for some reason. On Saturday, I walked up to Superman at around opening time (I used the Discover card early access) and the gates were open but an employee told me it was closed because of a problem with the LSMs and closed the gates behind me. On Sky Tower, an employee told me the rain in the early morning closed the ride. Superman re-opened at around 2:00pm and there was a 90 minute wait since it was closed for half a day and only one side was running. On Sunday, Superman was closed the whole day as it was sprinkling for the majority of the day and had no rain for a small portion of the day. So, basically, I'm confirming that Superman is closed because Superman has a problem, not because of FT construction.
  6. With most coasters, I don't see what the problem is with the good ol' pick your seat and when the air gates open, everyone loads. I understand assigned seating and/or ride-ops holding riders from entering the station. Though, I can't see how this continous cycle helps the capacity for any coaster with multiple cars (4-seater spinning coasters can benefit from the continous cycle). I really hope this will stop soon.
  7. Really good photo trip report as you always do. I actually never heard of SpeedZone before this trip report and it looks like a fun place.
  8. There are three going in to US parks alone next year, last time I checked. It seems like they're making a comeback! Yep, Great Escape, Knott's, & Michigan's Adventure are all getting one next year. A flying scooter comeback is really good.
  9. Legoland California Favorite Coaster: Technic Coaster Favorite Flat: Knight's Tournament Knott's Berry Farm Favorite Coaster: Xcelerator Favorite Flat: Supreme Scream Six Flags Magic Mountain Favorite Coaster: X2 Favorite Flat: Lex Luthor
  10. Flying scooters are a lot of fun and this is perfect for a park the size of Michigan's Adventure. One more flying scooter in the world is a good thing.
  11. Re: slingshot, is that a legit complement or sarcasm. Its hard to tell in this thread anymore.... And did you go on it? I don't go on upcharge attractions, but it looks decent. The pictures make it seem ugly. I'm going to try to look for it from Sky Tower today. I don't have time to look for it from the parking lot since I'm walking to SFMM from my hotel.
  12. I'm currently at Valencia for the weekend for Six Flags Magic Mountain. The new slingshot's name is "Slingshot", yea, I know very creative... Anyways, today was Slingshot's first day in operation and it looks pretty nice. Sky Tower has a really bad view of Slingshot which is where most of the pictures of Slingshot are from. I think that Six Flags did a good job on making Slingshot look professional. About the Full Throttle track pieces, I saw none in the overflow parking. Also, near Apocalypse, I saw some cylindrical re-bar pieces. Those might be for Full Throttle's footers. SFMM has NOT dug footers yet for Full Throttle.
  13. I'll be on this in a few hours.
  14. I had a dream three weeks ago that I went on Xcelerator over and over again. I would classify it as a good dream since I experienced the launch several times.
  15. I have never seen a No Limits recreation this detailed ever. It is beyond amazing. I just hope you have this recreation on a back up file in case your computer crashes.
  16. Now you see it, now you don't.
  17. Kinzel is most likely the one that made the decision for a B&M Wing Coaster in Cedar Point. Remember, Ouimet has only been Cedar Fair CEO for less than a year.
  18. Remember Superman III?
  19. Premier Rides employees wear shirts with You Only Live Once (YOLO) on the back, seriously : https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=466102510098939&set=a.336150726427452.76415.255064557869403&type=1&theater
  20. All lift hill enthusiasts are in heaven now. Thanks a lot for doing that.
  21. I hope they do a good job on installing the new Star Tower queue. One of the problems (and basically the only problem) about Star Tower is how unnoticeable the enterance is to the normal park guest, so it has low ridership.
  22. Today is 12/12/12. Next time something similar to this will happen will be on 1/1/2101.
  23. The slingshot is next to Apocalypse's enterance. It's where Mr. Six's DanceCoaster was supposed to go. Link
