  1. A comment to the OC Register's article about Windseeker's evacuation pod installation: http://www.ocregister.com/entertainment/ride-500610-knott-evacuation.html
  2. I don't want I-Box track for GhostRider as it already has a great layout. Topper track or heck, just a simple, complete re-track and new trains would make GhostRider so much better. On the bright side, if Boomerang got new trains, that would mean that Boomerang would be there for a long time. I would be surprised if Boomerang would still be at Knott's in 6 years.
  3. Thanks for all who commented. 1967 Update A new 150' Von Roll observation tower was built in 1967. The old 1924 Crooked House was removed for "Sky Tower". Sky Tower's queue line. Some of the old Crooked House queue theming was kept. Construction was seen behind Rocky Shore Expedition. This seems to be for the new 1968 ride. Some footers have been poured. Perhaps the 1968 ride will be a roller coaster? The construction area is a rather large area. Something big is coming... This is the end of the 1967 Update. Thanks for reading and comments are appreciated.
  4. Legoland California this sunday.
  5. I chose Iron Rattler since it looks a lot more insane than Outlaw Run.
  6. A man steals sacred treasure for a local museum.
  7. Ninja still has 3 trains. When I was at SFMM a few weeks ago, I went on Ninja with the normal two train operation and saw the third one on the transfer track.
  8. Intensity: Full Throttle > Gatekeeper. My preference: Full Throttle. (I think we all know that Full Throttle will be more intense.)
  9. The problem with doing this to Mean Streak is that true it would be a better ride, but still a boring ride. The layout is lackluster at best, not sure CF would put the cash into doing this to Mean Streak. Have you seen what RMC did to Texas Giant? If Mean Streak got the RMC I-Box treatment, it would become on of the best steel coasters in the world.
  10. It seems like Full Throttle's track was built for a McDonald's sponsorship.
  11. Wow! That's a lot of progress! I need to get myself to go to Knott's this weekend. I must say that Coast Rider is a good looking coaster as seen from the first photo^^.
  12. Looking good. Also, don't forget to put a catwalk on the first drop as seen on Outlaw Run: http://cache.rcdb.com/m11b1hnc2mb655b800dal6.jpg (I made a link for the photo so that the image won't disturb this thread)
  13. Even if it had 3 trains, SFMM would still somehow make Full Throttle have low capacity. For SFMM regulars (like me), just use your Gold Pass or Discover Card to get in early entry and then get a few rides on Full Throttle before the masses come. Easy way to resolve Full Throttle's "capacity problem" for locals.
  14. Boomerang's trains have a much better color scheme. Those buildings next to Coast Rider's drop are obviously staying, so I wonder what they will be used for. Any thoughts on this?
  15. This is good news about a new dark ride that might be coming into the KOD building. Though, I knew that a dark ride was coming to KOD ever since Micechat's interview with Raffi Karprelyan: http://micechat.com/blogs/in-the-parks/3322-meet-knotts-new-manager-disneylands-splash-woes-dca-construction-progress.html
  16. I totally forgot today was Top Gun's 20th anniversary. 20 years old and still strong.
  17. Great new ride for Legoland Florida. The splash battle at Legoland California is very popular in the summer time despite being 7 years old. The dark ride section looks very interesting especially for a splash battle ride.
  18. My expectations are just some flashing strobe lights in the tunnel.
  19. 1965 - 1966 Update Playland Park's new 1965 ride is the Rocky Shore Expedition. Climb into the submarine with many different scenes including a lake, a beach, and a volcano. In the middle is Rocky Shore's station. Also, you can see that Pacific Flyer recieved a new color scheme in 1965. Wildcat is Playland Park's new 1966 roller coaster. Manufactured by Schwarzkopf, it is Playland's first family steel roller coaster. It seems to have a temporary look and many believe that this area will have dramatic change in the future. Pacific Flyer's helix is no longer alone.
  20. From the recent construction photos, Coast Rider is looking really good.
  21. Great Trip Report. I knew they would put some form of catwalk up on Superman.
  22. They had one seaction of track up as of this morning. what. Someone is not telling the truth...
  23. Your recreations look really good. For the turnaround, you could make the track straight then bend it back into place. That would get rid of that bent.
