  1. CGA is close to the bay, thus it has a high water table.
  2. Giga coasters cannot be built in CGA due to its proximity to San Jose Int'l Airport and CGA is in the direct flight path. Also, Tidal Wave was built in 1977, so it was a 9 year gap on no new coasters in between Tidal Wave and Grizzly.
  3. You should post this on the SFMM thread. Everyone would get a kick out of this.
  4. Speaking of steel.
  5. I could see CGA receiving a new family coaster in 2015 or 2016 as they only have one right now.
  6. Thanks for all who commented. 1969 - 1970 Update For the 1969 season, the year man walked on the moon, Playland Park introduced Space Trainer. Space Trainer was built to show the immense training astronauts do before they leave Earth. A new food court was also added in 1969 with a little space theme in it. In 1970, Mountainside Jamboree opened as Playland Park's scrambler. It is located in the Mining Town theme area where Coyote Creek Mine Ride is found. A rather random, though interesting photo of two trains "dueling" on Coyote Creek Mine Ride. A rather large construction site is behind Coyote Creek Mine Ride. It looks like the 1971 attraction will be rather large. This is the end of the 1969 - 1970 Update. Thanks for reading and comments are appreciated.
  7. Sorry, if I came off wrong, it's just a little pet peeve of mine when people call some coasters pet names.
  8. Monty is a silly name for Montezooma's Revenge, to be honest.
  9. ^Airtime and hangtime are different.
  10. SFMM has operated both stations on Tatsu before.
  11. If it wasn't possible to run both stations, they wouldn't have built a dual station.
  12. The Batman queue line doesn't bother me since it is usually a walk on or a 5 minute wait. It has some nice theming to it.
  13. I think we've discussed before on how Gold Striker will be the fastest wooden coaster in Northern California despite Grizzly & Giant Dipper's exaggerated speed stats.
  14. GhostRider & Mine Ride's rehab could be done the same year as a new ride like how the Log Ride rehab and Boardwalk expansion are done the same year. For the next few years, my speculation is exactly the same as yours.
  15. It's looking really good, but you seem to be going a bit overboard on the stores. Honestly, I don't see people buying video game consoles in an amusement park. Though, I love the attention of detail.
  16. I would probably say Barney Oldfield Speedway (CGA). When CGA was my home park for many years, I would always try to go on Barney Oldfield during my visit.
  17. Good one! Something about my user is a little different for April Fools...
  18. These are the 4 parks that I am very familiar with, so I'm going to post the best roller coaster moments with these parks: Knott's: -Xcelerator's launch and top hat -Montezooma's loop SFMM: -Apocalypse's first drop and first airtime hill -Batman's Zero-G roll -Colossus, back seat, first drop -Revolution's loop -Riddler's Revenge, middle seats, loops & dive loops (some nice hang time) -Tatsu's pretzel loop -X2's first drop CGA: -Flight Deck's loop, corkscrew, helix over water -Vortex's loop SFDK: -Medusa's Zero-G roll -V2's back spike
  19. Thanks for the compliments. Big Dipper is based on a Prior & Church design while Jack Rabbit and Pacific Flyer are more based on what coasters were like in their date of construction rather than based on a particular designer.
  20. The park looks good, but what's with the cougar mascot? This "cougar spirit" makes more sense for a high school than an amusement park.
  21. That was built rather quickly. I can't wait to see a high res photo of it.
  22. Coyote Creek Mine Ride isn't based on one particular roller coaster, it's just a general Arrow mine train layout.
