  1. Thanks Elissa!! I only need the GK credit so I'm not overly concerned about that. I've just gotten used to the fast lane systems and am a little peeved that my group didn't listen to me when I said Saturday we'll need the passes more than Sunday.
  2. So a small hitch in my plans for this weekend has occured. Originally we were getting FL+ on Saturday but because of family now joining us on Sunday we're delaying the passes. How screwed am I gonna be on Saturday? We get early entry thanks to the breakers and I'll give GK a few laps but I have a feeling it's gonna be croweded all day. My new plan is to ride a few coasters, a large portion of flats and play with my new camera Saturday then Sunday kick A$$ and take names with the FL. Does this sound like a decent plan to the CP regulars?
  3. I'm sure you could fit an average sized B&M loop inside without any clearance problems . Although I think it'd be cool if they created another path up that hill and maybe have it thread the loop and wind its way up to the riddlers area. That'd give another way to get to that area and provide some cool new views for sure.
  4. I rode the one at Kings Island and would ride it again for sure. Can't recall the forces off hand because it was a while ago but I remember it being an absolute blast.
  5. Wow, the trains really give the loop some size perspective in the pictures. Seems like it's been hard to truly picture the size without anything close to compare to. Can't wait to see some testing videos! I should start planning a late summer/early fall trip
  6. My favorite is the slingshot type drop on Apocalypse. And although its not technically the first drop, the drop into Beast's helix is insane.
  7. I'm making a trip to Michigan's Adventure next week so I'll see about snapping a few pics of the gliders.
  8. ^I hope it's up and running that weekend as well. My visit last year reminded me how awesome that ride really is. Plus I want to see my niece's face when she rides it haha.
  9. CP just announced on their facebook that June 16th is the Chris Smith Memorial 5k Challenge. How much, if at all, will this affect the crowds? I'll be there the 15th and 16th and was hoping for Sunday to be the quiet day to get a bunch of rides in on GK.
  10. ^I thought that when they first realeased the ride info too. But now I think of that part as just a variation on the straight in-line keyhole element on X-Flight, Raptor And Swarm and it make it seem less dull.
  11. Right side for the win!!! Well, both sides for the win, but the right looks like it will be amazing.
  12. ^you're correct about the bbq place. Famous Dave's is in the marina and is where I go when I want a full on meal, $15-$20 per person gets you a quality filling meal. As for inside the park, Midway Market by Raptor is where I used to go but the qualtity seems to have fallen over the last few years. Can't go wrong with Pinks though.
  13. Man, I am going to go nuts for the next month until I can see this thing in person. For the first time in maybe 10 years I'll make sure to use the front gate haha. Does anybody know the reasoning behind their holding onto the pov yet?
  14. I have a question for those of you that have knowledge about the on-site lodging's policies. Some family and I are going to be at CP and will be staying at the breakers in a few weeks. The thought just crossed my mind about the discounted tickets and early entry. If check in isn't until 11am will we still get the tickets and early entry for our check in day? My brother is booking the room later this week but I wasn't sure how their policies worked. Thanks in advance
  15. Reading that report sent me through a whirlwind of thoughts in the matter of a few minutes. First, I laughed because the initial picture I saw in my head was a bunch of rides like the video above, along with the bench bolted to the front of the car, etc. Then I wondered why the blue collar crew would even want to attempt something like this. And finally, acceptance. If they managed to get the right people behind them it could work out very well, just enough redneck cliche to be entertaining but not enough to be over the top. I can't wait to see where this goes.
  16. ^I was going to say the same, although I have seen pictures of that entire maze being full closer to the time it was originally opened. I've spoiled myself recently with the fast passes at most parks I visit now but that was one line I wouldn't have minded waiting in, with that beautiful structure surrounding me. On the opposite end of this stick though I've always found it odd that SFMM constantly let's X2's line string out of the queue and towards (or past) the bridge.
  17. ^^you make a valid point. I completely spaced on the resort pricing, I was just looking at full prices . Guess I'm a little too excited at the moment to be researching and doing math haha. ^I've always loved the look of the hotel, and though I've stayed at the campground a few times I've always wanted to be able to spend a bit of time in the Breakers. I guess I'm a closet historical building fan haha.
  18. Kind of branching off from the current topics so bear with me. I'll be at CP June 15th and 16th. We're going to stay at the breakers for the first time, kind of excited about that . I'm looking for some opinions on how to do the tickets though. It wouldn't be an issue if I wasn't also planning on making a trip over to Michigan's Adventure a few days before, would i be better off to buy a platinum pass at MI Adv and be set for both parks or buy tickets for each day? I'm trying to talk myself into a pass so I have an excuse to finally make if over to Knott's this year haha, but the funds truly aren't what I should be spending because well, I don't have them. Thanks in advance Oh, and I cannot wait to ride Gatekeeper!!!!!
  19. When it comes down to it airtime is airtime right? Gotta love it all But if I had to choose I prefer a strong sustained airtime. While a sudden punch of ejector is fun, I like floating for a few seconds better.
  20. There's so many moments that I wish I could claim to have and don't. I'm dying to get credits like El Toro, Bizarro @ SFNE, I-305, Behemoth, Leviathan etc. One day.......one day. As for my personal favorite moments, they are as follows. -MF's first drop and bunny hill to the last over bank, I remember marathoning it during Halloweekends the year it opened. Nothing like cold friday nights with a hint of rain on that beast. -Wicked Twister's last row on the back spike, I love the whip as you exit the spiral -Tatsu's pretzel loop, I may have only ridden it once but the feeling was nothing like I imagined it would be. One of the few coasters that has left me searching for words in recent years. -X2's crazy roll/rotation hill before the last raven turn, getting thrown in just about every direction within those few seconds is pure awesome -Dueling Dragon's face to face loop, "oh crap, oh crap, OH CRAAAAAP.......that was close" haha. It's a shame it doesn't duel anymore -SooperDooperLooper's loop, this one is only because my little bro wouldn't ride any coasters until my mom and I talked him into riding this one (now he's almost as into coasters as I am). Even though I told him how forceful the loop would be, he still folded in half but came out laughing -Apollo's Chariot, the final double down into the brakes...whoa
  21. The trains have been back on the transfer tracks for a while now. Why must they toy with my emotions like this?!
  22. It's hard to tell at the moment with the glare off of the lake but it appears 2 of the trains are now sitting on the brake run and not the transfers. Could we see testing today?
  23. I voted GateKeeper because I am a beemer fan boy and although I'm closer to SFMM physically, I still consider CP my home park because I visit it more often than sfmm. The Wing Riders have always appealed to me even though I have yet to ride one and I was sold on GateKeeper when one of the first round of construction pics rolled out (the ones with a light dusting of snow and the brightest blue sky) Although on the other hand YOLO is looking like it will pack a bigger punch than I first thought and can't wait to ride it. Plus, I believe I said it before in the SFMM thread after the announcement, I haven't been on a next gen Premier ride so it'll give me a nice comparison between the two styles.
  24. That's awesome news!! The only thing I'm disappointed about is that I won't be able to make it up there . I would be all about it if I could get the time off work, but I have a tenative plan to visit in early June.
  25. Forgive me but I haven't payed enough attention to the wing coasters before to know this, are we going to see a pull through and/or clearance tests before the full on test laps?
