  1. ^^both parks "had" a freefall, neither do anymore.
  2. CP made note of an observation they've been trying to point out for a while now. Superman is on the fine line between coaster and glorified flat ride/tower, it just depends on who you're talking to. Personally I consider it a coaster, it has wheels it goes down the track then up the tower like a shuttle loop. The coaster wars have more or less been on a hiatus the past few years. Now, 10 or 15 years ago it was on in full swing for sure, not so much today.
  3. I haven't been on many water rides, WWL at CP (R.I.P. knowing your were sacrificed for a better cause) and Log Jammer at SFMM are ones that stand out in my mind.
  4. Again speaking from pictures and videos on my part but if that helix over the water is anything like Raptors final helix then yes, blacking/graying out could be common. I love a good ol' forceful helix.
  5. Gemini and CCMR aren't considered woodies except by the GP. I'd love to see a good GCI twister with a touch of classic cyclone put in, it would offer a different ride than both MS and BS.
  6. A Beemer is my second choice, either a Floorless or a Flyer. Though I'm with everyone on the WT midway refurb and make it a "pier" type environment with a classic yet thrilling/modern cyclone style woodie.
  7. Personally I wasn't too impressed by GL:FF, fun yes but it hurt me a lot. I hope CP doesn't go with a zac spin or another intamin for that fact, that would make 6 in a row including STR, but that's just my opinion. *If* they were to go with a zac spin they should go with the taller model on Intamin's website that hasn't been built yet. They are in need of another woodie though , GCI? GG? yes please
  8. ^Wow!! I must be completely out of it today.... ....completely forgot I've been on Alpie and the Dragons...
  9. they both may be boomerangs but they deliver completely different experiences. I see no issues with the two different boomerangs in a park.
  10. ^ I think it's safe to say "The older the better" with B&M's inverts. I haven't been on many but I have been on two of the B:TR's (SFGAm and SFMM), Raptor and Great Bear. Great Bear is fun but meh and Raptor and the Batmans pack a punch. I can't wait to get on Flight Deck and Afterburn at Carowinds, both look awesome and intense.
  11. Deja Vu was running pretty good when I was there last month but I can understand why they may consider removing it. The wait is always horrendous. No matter how things pan out I see the parks being tied for a few years. If CP moves forward with the "Family" aspect they have been they'll spend a few years adding smaller touches to the park and if SFMM is removing Vu then there's your tie at 17. Or if they keep Vu and CP builds another coaster, which they are due for, there it is at 18. The coaster wars may have hit a lull but they are still alive in my mind.
  12. Haha that's kind of my reaction after going through the TRs here. I definitely need to get out and try me some dark rides
  13. I don't really think about it too much. I look at my obsession with coasters and thrill rides in general as a hobby. When I'm at a park, whether its with one person or 15, I'm going to do what I do which is spit out pointless facts that amuse me. Some people know everything there is to know about model planes, or windmills, or cars, etc. My knowledge lies in two areas, music and coasters. I'll rant and I'll ramble to anyone I can and most of the time they're impressed or at least amused with my knowledge of anything on rails with a chain lift. I've even managed to turn a few friends into semi enthusiasts. We all have our trigger words that sends us off into a mess of words and facts some people just don't really catch on to and ours is coasters.
  14. ^^I had a similar experience with Disney World's campground except with Peacocks...this was the first time I realized peacocks could fly and were in the trees all over the campground. Needless to say somebody had a cream pie fight while we were sleeping. Getting back on topic, whenever I've stayed at CP it was either in the campground or the cabins. I was a little erked to find out that no tents are allowed in the campground (at least the last time I stayed maybe 6 or 7 years ago), and the cabins were worth the money. But personally my thought process is, "How much time is really spent in the hotel?" even if it's a halfway decent place you have clean sheets and a bed to sleep on.
  15. Having never been on I-305 my perspective is based on video and review. Looking at the layout it's clear the intentions were to have the riders tossed from sided to side and thrown around a bit, you can tell by how low everything is to the ground. I cannot wait to get a few laps on the thing and feel the speed through the direction changes etc. Just about every coaster is built with a certain type of thrill in mind. So why not have a giga monster installed that throws you around? It would give a completely different ride than behemoth and the GP wouldn't think much of it.
  16. I've always enjoyed coasters for how they made me feel. A guy my size shouldn't be able to do the things that coasters allow, getting tossed, turned, flipped, twisted, dropped, thrown, etc. That being said I don't think coasters have prompted me to do other things in search of a thrill, they just put that bug in my ear. I have always wanted to bungee jump and I'm still working on getting the nerve to sky dive. I think I'd take any kind of thrill if/when it's thrown my direction.
  17. ^if you go through a twister style layout to kill off a bunch of the speed why not end it with an inversion or two? It would be unique and defintely has some potential.
  18. I think I can honestly say I've never been on a dark ride. Maybe one or two when I was younger but I dont remember any. I can see the appeal to most people but having never been on one it's not on my mind while at a park seeing as I'm there primarily for the coasters.
  19. B&M wouldn't go over their current tallest coaster height by much anyway. I thought I read something saying their track style is way too heavy to be up much higher without a complex support system Plus just because it's a rumored giga doesn't mean it will be an out an back with constant camelbacks and bunny hops and maybe a helix. You can have more than one "hyper" or "giga" coasters in a park and still have two extremely different ride experiences.
  20. My ride bucket list is every coaster I haven't been on I'm with Sir Clinksalot though I do have parks I need to visit. Dollywood Holiday World Mt. Olympus SFGAdv Lake Compounce Alton Towers Port Aventura Tokyo Disney's Fuji Q Those are just off the top of my head. I have so many parks I've wanted to visit since falling deep into the rabbit hole of coasters when I was a kid.
  21. ^I enjoy Mantis quite a bit though I understand everybody's arguement as to why they dislike it. It does take a few rides to learn how to ride it comfortably.
  22. There's a chance I may make a trip to Knotts over labor day. Doing a bit of searching I was unable to find what the crowd potential is. Can anybody help me out? I know Labor Day is the last summer hoorah and crowds would be expected to be higher than normal. Just curious.
  23. This ride looks super exciting and progress is being made pretty quickly!! Too bad there's no chance of me making it over to Europe in the near future . So many credits I've been wanting since I was a kid.
  24. Mean Streak for sure. I've never had anything against this ride and I could sit by the train tracks and watch it run for hours. Sure the trim on the hill brought the ride quality down a little bit but how often can you weave in and out of a massive wooden structure like that?
  25. Looking at the drawing of skyrush in relation to comet, when it's making its way back to the station does it weave through Comets structure or just go over it? Going through Comet would heighten the thrill in my mind. Sorry I'm not the greatest at reading the drawings.
