  1. Thanks for the tip, i'll look it up.
  2. I am heading to Sweden for work, my trip is July 5th-13th. I have set aside time to hit Liseberg (yeah Balder!). I'm flying in to Stockholm and taking a train to Gothenburg. Are there any other parks I can hit easily? Distance, ease of travel, and time are all issues here. It pains me to think my first trip out of the country, and I can only hit one park. Any suggestions besides?
  3. We had a great time talking to some of you guys. A real riot with the chants and everything. On sunday at cedar point, I was in line and it looked like a bunch of you guys got roll backs on TTD. Congrats.
  4. Just a joke, we were heading to the Raven for the first ride of the day, we got called "Non-believers", since we did not go straight to The Voyage. We thought it was funny.
  5. See attached video. It turns out that going to Holiday World on opening day of The Voyage, and riding The Raven first will get you shunned. non-believers.mpg Short 2mb Insult
  6. Biggest letdown? When I am not able to go to the park because: a. I cant afford it b. there is a thunderstorm c. can't get any time off work d. too much school work. I have been counting the minutes untill I start driving south for holiday world and then cedar point.
  7. I am going to be there opening day, and i'm staying at Santa's Lodge with three friends. Anybody else able to make it?
  8. I worked Magnum XL200 in 2002. Very exciting at first, but gets to be very repetitive. As far as what to know, make yourself familiar with the block system. Each ride is different, but you can tell the blocks just by looking at it. The rule? No more than one train in any one block. On magnum, if by chance you did not dispach the train in time (usually a guest causes this), then you get what they call a stack. Stacking a train on some rides is no big deal, but on magnum, the ride went down for a small amount of time (being that a train would stop in the safety brakes right after the last tunnel). Its all a matter of timing. Dispaching the train too early would cause it to stop on the lift hill (being that the train in front of it did not clear the block). Alot of coasters dont have that problem, but just giving you an example. The MOST important job of the operator is to supervise the guests. This includes following the safety rules, and denying people rides who should not ride (i.e. not tall enough) I'll never forget how angry parents would get when I would not let their kids ride. All I can think is "Why would a parent insist on putting their child in danger?" Good luck to you....
  9. What you should be more worried about is where the exit is....
  10. The editing program I used was Sony Vegas 6. The pop ups were designed to look like VH1 Pop Up Video. I think alot of the younger crowd here didn't get that. The images came from the internet by the person who designed them for the actual show. I put them on a transparent backround, did a text overlay, and Vuala! Glad you liked it.
  11. Hey Thanks Guys! Really happy to be picked. Looking forward to the next contest. Thanks R&E for the contest and picking me. It was a blast. Good job to everyone who submitted. I have a feeling the next contest is going to be a good one. Patrick
  12. I did not visit the park last year, just wondering if the old shockwave is still there. Seems like it would be a cool coaster for a smaller park, even though it beat the s#!t out of you.
  13. Speaking of Skyhawk, we’ve just received word that the topping of Skyhawk has been moved to Thursday afternoon. Right now, we’re looking at about 12:00 p.m., but as you know, things could change.
  14. Yeah, the day we have all been waiting for. Skyhawk is getting topped off and I can hardly contain my excitement Seriously though, I am looking forward to riding it
  15. Pick one right now? Roller coaster! (its the offseason and there's always tommorow!)
  16. I love this picture, from Dave Althoff's Hall of Shame, http://capital2.capital.edu/admin-staff/dalthoff/shame.html
  17. No Did You try to lick your elbow?
  18. Yes Can you lick your elbow?
  19. Right, keep in mind that the GP have never been on a Flying coaster, Floorless, GIB, or any giant huss Flat. To them if its completly new and unique to the park, its completly new and unique to the target audience (GP)
  20. Hey, quit downplayin your video. I would put it in the top ten....
  21. Jman, I might have nightmares now, thanks
  22. Oh, I should have mentioned this before in case anyone did not know. While much of the information I provided in my pop-ups was factual, some of it was not quite. Just throwin that out as a disclaimer
  23. I would want to ride flashback simply because I remember it as "Z-Force" at Six Flags Great America! I was too young to ride it then, but it looked really cool.
  24. Yeah, also consider that even if they do test with an empty train, then start operation with guests, they care alot more about a train not making it through the course once there are people on it. If it did not make it with say a half train, now they are faced with a risky (somewhat risky) train evac and some very upset guests. On Magnum XL200, it was easy. If the train did not make it from the initial drop to the safety brakes by 60 seconds, its time to close the ride (due to high winds).
