  1. As Scottiemon said Saturday will be suicide and Sunday will be better. Friday you should put as a option at least for Freight Fest as its really low attendance on Fridays. Handicap parking on Saturdays fill's by 1pm and then your best bet is drop of guests at main gate and circle back to find a parking spot. The Sheriffs have a sub-station on site and the past few weeks they have been writing up tons of illegal handicap placards or out of date ones. The tickets are hefty so dont be that guy using grandpas expired tag as you will get hit with massive ticket.
  2. As of 1pm it was busier then a witches bread basket. About to park in the gravel. People stop coming.
  3. And another reason it might (will) be busier, its a BAFF day. If you didn't use the free friend on the 3rd its good on the 12th. But please no fright fest is in play.
  4. In Valencia all the High School's are on fall break the 3rd (Rosh) and 4th, but all the elementary schools are in session. On the 12th (Yom Kipper) all the school's both high school and elementary are in session. And of course the 3rd and the 12th are BAFF days so expect the 3rd to be good sized and perfect weather around 78 degrees. But no fright fest on those dates.
  5. Not sure where you are located, but if your in the Valencia area I could get one to you. Let me know as I will be out and about most the day.
  6. If your in the area for SFMM on Friday 9/9 drive on over as park is having semi private night event and no charge for parking so you can tool in and get some nice night shots of Scream or TC or Lex and Superman and of course X2.
  7. Just got home from SFMM and happy (i guess) to say that X2 was up and running with guests riding as of 3:30 pm Sunday Sept 4th.
  8. Might need to bring back Stan Winston to help with this one. I will see your 2 weeks and raise you 3 months. X-2 is and will always be my my top 3 fav and love the sound as it seems to glide in the sky.
  9. Ya buddie its toasty today. Clear skies no sign of thunderstorms and both parks are open until 6pm and peeps do show up for last 3 hours of park being open so wear a hat. Make note SFMM season sort of ends Aug 28th as park does close prior to Labor Day and M-T the 29th-Sept 1st the park is not open so dont be that guy talking to the moose out front and bitchin that on the web site blah blah blah ... Its closed.
  10. When you arrive at the toll gate let the employee know that you would like a 1 hour parking pass. The 1 hour parking works like this, you get a parking pass from toll gate and put it in the front window of your car. Then you park your car over by where you drop off your car for valet, valet drop-off is on the right side and the 1 hour parking is on the left. Nobody really check’s it unless you are parked somewhere you are not supposed to be. Just make sure the parking pass is on dashboard. Toll gate close’s 90 minutes prior to park closing time. So on that date of the 21st the park closing time is listed at 8pm so if you arrive after 6:30 just head to parking lot and find a spot. Now as far as Season Pass vs Day ticket or BAFF day and ½ off day. As of today looking at the SFMM site it shows buying 2 / 2016 passes “ONLINE” that (make note) WILL EXPIRE at end of 2016 for $89.99 will also get the following perks. Buy two or more Six Flags Magic Mountain Season Passes and get free Parking! One Free Season Parking Pass to Six Flags Magic Mountain Unlimited admission to all Six Flags theme parks Special days when you can bring a friend free Make note this free parking offer is only available ONLINE and not available or offered at main gate. The way you have shown you are doing it with one park season pass @ $89.99 and then the BAFF day along with ½ price day or $40 since its half off posted gate price. And don’t forget add in $20 per day X 2 or $40 total for the parking. So buy 2 season passes for $179.98 or 1 season @ $89.99 plus parking $40.00 plus ½ price $40.00 for total $169.99. If I were you buy the 2 season passes and then when you get back to Wichita take a field trip to either St Louis Six Flags (400 miles) or trip to Dallas Six Flags (380 miles) as the Six Flags passes are good at all Six Flags parks not counting water parks. I think the parking pass is only honored at your purchase point location (Magic Mountain) so it won’t be honored at other parks unless you upgrade it to GOLD. Also you will have 2 BAFF if you get two season passes so find someone that does not have tickets and “pay it forward” and get them in free as it will make you feel good and who knows maybe they will buy you a funnel cake or soda cup.
  11. I guess you have yet to see the gravel portion of the parking lot as you must valet or hdcp park only. Six Flags always steps up huge for the community of SCV and technically they aren't in the SCV (tax reasons) but in LA County. A large portion of gravel has been turned into a mini city for So Cal Edison Emergency crews and in a sense you can now say SFMM now has restrooms in the parking lot.
  12. Any idea what the "other company" is that we're sharing the park with on Saturday night, or what kind of attendance numbers they'll be contributing? I know that local radio station KROQ is giving away tickets for that date. I cant imagine they are giving away enough to make a dent in attendance, but they do seem to be promo blasting out a crap load of them.
  13. Park is wide open and I'm heading there around 2:30. Parking is into middle 3rd lot so only people to stay away seems to be you and your group. True many workers from AV are calling out as take yesterday with full closure of the I-14 freeway for 45 miles many were unable to make it to work. And today looks like partial closings of the 14 that no reason a min paid worker needs to be stuck on the wrong side of a closed freeway for a 5 hour shift. Seems like the wind is shifting towards NE and as of right now (2:15) SFMM is under nice blue skies.
  14. I looked over the SFMM schedules for grad nights or days and this Friday the 27th is a High School Grad night and from 11pm until 5am. The next Junior High Grad Night is slated for June 3rd. Weird at all having a Grad night this weekend being its a Holiday weekend. But this Friday Grad day will not impact general park day as its later at night.
  15. Oct 3rd for people of faith is Rosh Hashanah holiday. Reg park hours it seems so no fright fest for that day. Will it be crowded?.. who knows but perhaps.
  16. Just so you know, its not just AAA...my Company, and many, many others here in So Cal are also included in the same deal on the same day...happens twice a year...so its busier than usual during the day (i.e. not dead) and crazy for the Private Party portion. Makes the daytime busier as the guests for the private event if they choose can come to the park earlier then the scheduled private event. I think only diff is if they come before perhaps 5pm they must pay for parking. 25% of the private event show up between noon-3 and the others just drift in after that.
  17. You make it sound so sort of nice. 4:30 all heck broke loose with massive wind and lighting strikes in the area and hail like a mo-fo. It lasted about 40 minutes then skis cleared and winds drop but by 5:40 winds were back up and it was interesting. Park closed at 6pm so non issue being so late in the day.
  18. Yes schools are still out for up to several more weeks. Regardless of what day your going and if you are a season or membership passhole you need a reservation to ride Revolution. So pull down the drop down menu and make res and looks like Thursday ride times are just about gone.
  19. Yikes the wind isn't messing around today 18/51 mph ... going to cause havoc today with some rides.
  20. Seems at times SFMM likes to give out clues on what they have coming up in the future. Perhaps look no further than the app photo and that is being a huge ferris wheel.
  21. On weather.com it shows rain for both the 6th and the 13th, but since Mark Kriski has not been right with El Nino yet this season who knows what plays out on the 20th. If you playing out a BAFF then no biggie but if your laying out some hard cash. Just be early get there at stupid 8:30 time. Have bulk of group go through security and hope in either Gold-pass or Discover Card line. If you dont have a Discover card get one by then. Just have 1 person park the car or take your BAFF with you but zero reason for the whole posse to go to parking lot. Heck if your paying for parking just kick it up and use valet.
  22. I'm sure you and some of your posse have the meal deal so one of you will need to sacrifice a ride and go get all the grub while the others ride. Did they get the stripes down in the dirt lot in time (sort of like baseball lines) or just roll with the cones?
  23. Finally it seems that SFMM was way ahead of the game and now all major parks... Disney... Universal....SeaWorld ... are all in a rush to install metal detectors. Seems that Disney's will be random until they "randomly select" 10 bravos in a row and then the poop will hit the fan. At Disney’s theme parks, guests will walk through bag check first and some in line will be “randomly selected” to walk through a secondary magnetomator portal before proceeding into the park.
  24. Million dollar question. Might be crowded as its a Bring A Friend Free day, and its also bring a bag of groceries and get in free. With short hours only open until 6pm 90% of the crowd will arrive prior to 12:02 pm (noon). Temps are schd for mid to low 60's and who knows depends who you watch for poss rain/showers. Also by 2 pm the I-5 both North and South will be severe grid lock. Million dollar question answer: Wed should be doable but unless your living in SCV will the I-5 traffic outway your value?
