  1. Today Thursday (25th) should be the last normal non crowded day for some time to come. For the past 6 weeks a Bring A Friend Free (BAFF) has been in play and the last day for that current offer was yesterday the 24th. The weather today (25th) will be 70/75 and even though tonight and Friday are High School grad nights those groups wont be arriving until the park has closed to the public so they will have zero impact on today's crowd. Looking forward to riding Honda express and Grand America today until I'm blue in the face. Seems SFMM has added days to the schd and is now open full time until early October. They had always gone to weekends only prior to Labor Day (Sept) so they might be getting ready to run with Justice League around that time and wanted to have doors open.
  2. May 27th is Memorial day weekend so regardless of where you go it will be a wreck. Perhaps normal (non season passholes) are holding off for SFMM until Justice League opens May 27th is also opening day for Six Flags Hurricane Harbor season! While in might not impact SFMM but it will impact the parking and going through the metal detectors.
  3. I had thought Tuesday the 25th was windy..... but it didn't hold a candle to today Thursday the 27th on the wind level. It was fun when you had ride opps allow you stay on if nobody was waiting to fill that seat. Had some rides of 3,4 and 5 without getting off. It was nice for me to have a afternoon off to take in some rides and i need to get in the park more often. Did i mention how crazy windy it was today..... UNBELIEVABLE.
  4. 4:35 pm Cali time just got home from SFMM and I thought Monday was a ghost town today Tuesday the 18th is dbl dbl ghost town. Place is EMPTY!!! Correct Apoc was not seen running today. Lite mist of showers around 10-11:30 but really non issue and I think i still heard Superman still running. Sunny now and open until 9pm. Those still there are getting incredible ride time if they choose to. Perhaps most are waiting for the BAFF days that are coming up but boy oh boy now is the time to ride your brains out.
  5. Today Monday the 17th was a ghost town and perfect weather. No excuse for not being there. I think Catholic schools are all off this week.
  6. I concur today at SFMM was EPIC. No people at all. Monday had more, Tues had less than Monday, but today with excellent weather and not the big massive groups. Zero buses were in the parking lot. Wow what a great day and it was also a Bring A Freind Free date .... cant figger out where all were.
  7. but isn't it spring break? i figured it would be more like normal summer days this week. ========================================================== Spring break in So Cal is all over the map. For the most part SFMM goes with LAUSD school schd and they go with Spring Break as April 10-14 ............other schools. heck even Santa Clarita cant get kids on same break with William Hart Schools (high schools) Spring Break is April 4-7 and Newhall School District (elem schools) break is March 27 - April 7th . Then we rove around and Antelope Valley was last week March 20 - 24th ...... Ventura is 4/3-4/7............. CSUN was 3/20-3/26 ............. And Cerritos is April 17 - April 21 ........ So when is Spring Break??? ....... Its your call I will go to SFMM later this afternoon and see what the crowd looks like . But i bet lots of local parents with local kids that are off and perhaps 1 parent might have 4 different kids in tow hitting up the lesser rides as i think just Elementary schools are out this week, and i bet most leave around 3 pm. Newhall Schools get two weeks off for spring break! In Michigan, most schools have either 3/27-3/31 (Northern Michigan and the UP) or 4/3-4/7 (the rest of the state) as spring break. Detroit Public is 4/14-4/21. Just returned from SFMM for Monday 3/27. Pretty good sized crowd and way more than i would have guessed. Also saw 8 school buses and rule of thumb is if 8 buses stayed 16 didn't and just dropped off. So those 24 buses sort of have hidden crowd of 1,200 extra bodies that dont show with depth of cars parked. Most rides seemed in 20/30 minute wait times (not counting Rev) . Windy as holy crap so might impact some rides.

  9. Okay so officially Winter is Dec 21, 2017 - March 20, 2018 Park has limited hours. Park has some attractions closed for both seasonal and some sort of re-hab. So those guests must be filtered to other attractions. Weather comes into play and being the desert it could be 36 degrees to about 85 degrees. Lots of bring a friend free days most seem to be on Sundays. Fun time for all. This coming week March 27/31st should be a ghost town as only open until 6pm but i think they are offering BAFF days so dbl check.
  10. Tomorrow Sunday the parking lot will open at 8:30 am. Crowds are expected big time so keep your elbows up.
  11. Yikes PACKED TODAY Sunday THE 12TH. Cars parked deep into the gravel. Took one look at that and called it a day. One final BAFF for current offer is next Sunday the 19th, then back to normal. Congrats to all that survived today.
  12. My bet is that it will be crowded as the weather is 80/90 range and worst of all its a Bring A Friend Free day. Be aware that at base of the hill leading to Six Flags that the Water company has been working trying to fix a leak for about a week now. Best play if your coming from the north is to exit at Rye Canyon rd and work your way on the Old Road and just make a rt onto MMP up the hill to SFMM. If your coming from the south might get off at Valencia Blvd and come down Old Road and make left up MMP to SFMM. Of course maybe they wont work on Sunday and its a non issue. bottom line... it will be crowded.... I will see ya there.
  13. Just take it deep and get your group of 5 the VIP Private Tour. Comes in at $349 per, so around $1,700 not counting tip.
  14. I have no idea how the fast pass thingy works as its out of my price range vs me being local and can go whenever I want. Just for that date though, it is the final day of a Bring A Friend Free promo and it is the last of 6 dates that the season pass holders could have used it. So perhaps most SP holders have used it prior to the 19th. The other thing working for you is the park at least is open until 8pm. And final thing perhaps people are still hung over from St Patrick's day a cpl days prior (17th) and need a day to relax before going back to work and just stay home.
  15. Sunday should be a great weather wise day. People were holed up last weekend (21st & 22nd) due to rain so they might want to get out. Bring a friend that you dont like so much as they might never talk to you again after coming on a BAFF day. Last Feb (2016) they had a BAFF day and the CHP had to close the entrance roads at 1:30 as the crowd was so epic and it took everyone by surprise that the park was at full capacity and nowhere to park any further cars. So will the crowds be double... no they wont.... they will be quintupled. Just park your car and walk to main turnstiles with your season pass and your guest, and they get in with you at that time. No restrooms are in the parking lot and they are only at main gate so if you get off the fwy and need a restroom hit up Wendy's as depending on your timing once your off the fwy you just might still be 60 minutes from entering the park.
  16. They just extended park hours for today so no longer a hard closing for 6pm, its now 7pm.
  17. I'm afraid I've got some bad news. Superman's entire plaza was closed off yesterday. I imagine they're doing maintenance on it at the same time as Drop of Doom. It's likely it'll be closed again tomorrow. Monday Jan 2nd, 2017 Superman was wide open and looked great against the treating snow clouds. Cold as heck out here and cars parking 12 rows deep in gravel and all the while the park is only open until 6pm... YIKES!!!!!
  18. Park was wide open this morning with 1/2 of first lot by 10am when rain was letting up and its clear as a bell out in Valencia rt now (noon fri). Should be a good day once ride techs get all the rain caused error codes clear.
  19. Busier then a witches booty today (12/26)!!! 15 rows into the gravel overflow lot!!! Guess being a federal holiday and banks also closed and just lots of out of towners. It was cold as flying fig also!!! Busiest H.I.P. day by far!!!
  20. Its a great deal but MUST PROCESS PASS PRIOR TO DEC 31ST 2016. Pretty simple if not i would think your payment would be like a Groupon and would only be valued at the $79 you paid, and not get you any of the perks associated with Gold Pass Status. If you cant get there until May I would pass on this but I sure dont think the prices will be lower in May. PLEASE NOTE: To receive this incredible offer you must buy during our Black Friday / Cyber Monday Sale. To get the free upgrade to Gold level, free parking, free Hurricane Harbor, and bonus Holiday in the Park ticket, you must purchase your Season Passes or Membership online and pick up your new Pass cards at the park by December 31, 2016.
  21. Yes it will be crowded so the earlier the better. How about hitchhiking? Start in SB with a sign that reads "126" and then a 2nd sign that reads "SCV" or "Six Flags" it should get you there. Hitchhiking isn't illegal in California its just a gray area on where your allowed to stand to try to get a ride. Hitchhiking. California Vehicle Code 21957 states: No person shall stand in a roadway for the purpose of soliciting a ride from the driver of any vehicle. This rule is designed to keep pedestrians and motorists safe. It is OK to hitchhike through California, but you must obtain rides from places other than roadways.
  22. Best day ever as you can be almost el cheapo and pay it forward at the same time. Its bring a bag of food day and get admission into the park. The ticket they give you is only good on the 21st so dont save them up. Its for the LA Food Bank so bring some bags of grub and get in. Here is the link to the event.
  23. Come on out this weekend the 11th or 12th and I will hook you up with a couple comp tickets. Just be warned the 12th is Key Club day.
