  1. A whole bunch of construction workers have been posting both stills and very great videos from the construction area back there in the mountains. Just look them up using the Six Flags hash tag on instagram and search them out as some are really cool sort of like watching dancing construction trucks.
  2. So, the question is... Are they actually repaving the lot or just adding a surface coat to seal the cracks and make it look new? Speaking like the TV show Gold Rush, the pavers took off the top 6 inches of overburden to get down to bedrock and laid down a sweet area of new asphalt. Unsure if they backed off doing the remaining 1st lot as storm is moving in for next couple of days and they would have just had a Mystic lake in the parking lot
  3. Also all the trash cans in parking lot have all been power washed and look spiffy for the time being.
  4. It is a outright BAFF day so it could be interesting unless all are staying home to watch the Big Brother finale later that day.
  5. For any other locals or often visitors, as a first time visit is it best to head left towards X2 and make the loop around the park if we arrive at open? Or head right and work our way left? Thanks for all the advice! Can't wait! SFMM is unique that you can see or get a glimpse at least about 10 rides prior to even entering the park. So focus when parking your car as to what rides you might see warming up or running such as , Twisted, Scream, Superman, Drop of Doom, Goliath, Buccaneer. And when at main gate see if X2, Viper, Tatsu, Ful Throtell, are in play yet. I would then head the direction that you might have spotted the most rides open. Personally I would take Orient/Honda express up the hill (or take short cut if you know it) and hit up Tatsu, Ninja, and Superman and then you have that beast of a hill knocked out then just work your way around. Of course make sure that Superman has cycled otherwise it seems to come and go through-out the day.
  6. This is amended to my previous answer. The 12th should still be very empty of guests.... but... It seems Kern County High Schools (50 miles away) have the 12th off and they are sneaky and some times come down in droves of buses.
  7. Should be no lines for the 12th. It is Lincolns Birthday but i sure cant find anyone having it listed as being off. USPS, LA School and local high schools all seem to be in session. So lines should be non-existed. Arrive around 10 get sweet spot and ride till you puke. We know you can ride all the rides that are open at least 10 times but dont try it just go nice and easy. Based on current weather pattern it might be around 85 degrees unless hell freezes over. So bring some sunblock and leave all the other stuff in the car.
  8. Slammed Slammed Slammed Hope you got that Flash Pass
  9. Here was a map of the fire that as you can see skirted around Six Flags no doubt due to the air support. In about 10 years all this burnt area will be housing and business. Map of Fire path Dec 5th
  10. What are dispatch times for bus transportation from 3rd parking lot to main gate?
  11. We will be heading to SFMM after Dodger game Tuesday (Halloween night) or earlier if a blowout looks eminent. Only live a few miles away and it hasn't rained here since 10am and should be good the rest of the night.
  12. I think for October its the 30th Monday for Batman season pass holders with ERT and BAFF that day. I think for October 31st Halloween its for Superman season pass holders with ERT and BAFF that day. Yes both days will also be Fright Fest and last season when SFMM ran a BAFF on a FF day the CHP shut the road in around 2pm (but that was a weekend). So be prepared for crowds and keep your elbows up.
  13. Monday and Tuesday were very empty but busier than Wed as M & T all the local schools in the SCV were on fall break. The local Saugus ELEMENTARY schools are on break still all week but wont really impact the as those are just tiny kids. Thursday should be a great day to have a ERT day and run of the park. No need to get here early as there wont be a crowd at all.
  14. Lets break this down:... Crowds should be minimum until around 3pm when FF peeps start showing up. Be on lookout around 9pm as once Universal sells out (which it has 3/4 times so far this season) the peeps rejected from there seem to show up at SFMM. Weekday being a Friday sure wont be early arriving crowd and all local schools are in session so should be sweet until around 3 when it will be steady flow into the park. The Heat is only projected in low 90's and for most locals that's a cooling trend as we had been rolling around 114 so the temp is non issue as they will come. Apocalypse i would wait to ride until later in the evening when your back in that area to go to the maze Aftermath. There really is nothing in that area of the park to do unless you like fudge at Coaster Candy Company. If you choose to ride Apocalypse during the day ask any ride attendant or security officer if its open as again it would save you a walk to that back side of the park if its not open. Maze express pass is listed at $32 on the SFMM site for Friday the 29th and season passholes save $5 when the maze pass is purchased at the park. Yes in / out is available at night just get hand stamp. Of course you will lose your good early parking spot and might be parking in Fillmore when you return.
  15. SFMM operates within the schedule for Los Angeles Unified School District and the 21st is Rosh Hashanah a Jewish holiday or remembrance time. Has something to do with getting head for a year per Wikipedia. Etymology: "Rosh" is the Hebrew word for "head", "ha" is the definite article ("the"), and "shanah" means year. Thus "Rosh HaShanah" means 'head [of] the year', referring to the Jewish day of new year. Just come on Wednesday if you can as even though they are open 2 hours less than Thursday you will have a freestyle of the park and will be able to get multi rides on most. While it might be doable to get on most attractions once on Thursday it will be more crowded.
  16. Your longest line will be at the crosswalk area in parking lot, if the big old fat guy needs to stop you while the bus is going by.
  17. Looking forward to Aug 31st when SFMM has the Season Passes go on sale for 2017/2018. Wondering out-loud how much of a bump they will be based on going year round. I'm going with initial offering around $129 with parking added on for $100. Wish us luck.
  18. Not sure if Viper is going anywhere and I'm also not a land developer so this is just a crap shoot. Seems the Newhall Ranch Development has gotten the go ahead and build out might start soon as Mission and Landmark Villages have been green lighted. You can see this one map shop that the side of SFMM with new build out is listed as Commericial area. So if redoing that area along side Viper and Roaring Rapids and old Deja Vue are SFMM better make changes quick. My first bet is no new changes for SFMM for 2018 except selling all 260 acres off for over a billion dollars as the time has come.... RIP SFMM Welll lets see how it plays out as John Duffey resigned yesterday 7/19

  20. I'm not sure if SFMM has ever been annexed into SCV and might still be considered located in the unincorporated area of Los Angeles. I have known for years SCV wants SFMM within the city as its a cash cow for the city but far as I know LA has never let it go. If you have a site that says different please let us know.
  21. Need to make a fudge run to the back of park, so no guarantee's but if i get inside the park this week I will take pictures of the dirt for you in the JL area..
  22. First I must say I raised in Santa Monica for over 20+ years and then got priced out and have now lived in Valenica (Santa Clarita) for the past 20+ years. Santa Monica these days is brutal brutal brutal traffic and a mess. It should only take you 45 minutes on a Monday from Santa Monica to Valencia as your not going to LA but you will be skirting around it and going the non traffic way. Great choices on our local breakfast spots with Egg Plantation and Eggs n Things. If you want ommletts go to Egg Plantation for sure. One other really good breakfast location is nearer to Eggs N Things and its called Marstons. Again cant go wrong with either of your first choices. We would just do Denny's near Six Flags and do some damage to the 2/4/6/8 menu.
  23. Yes Discover card line is no mas. so go with Gold Pass for early entrance or just go in with general population and grab that Platinum Flash Pass.
