From The Coaster Guy... I'm going to be heading over later today after the PGA golf is over (& Tiger wins) and perhaps then some sweet parking will be available in first lot as peeps from SFHH should be leaving about then. Then heading into SFMM and perhaps eat the left side of the menu ... going to be a great day.

Seems like I have done it in reverse working for WDI at Imagineering in Glendale/Burbank?Tujunga during the Disney Decade (85-92). Did Hydraulics and Pneumatics on so many things such as Star Tours. Muppet's, Indy Jones, Tower of Terror, hardest think i did was hydraulics on Ailen Encounter figure for WDW ... and LOL my biggest failure in Rivers of America the "Swimming Beaver" but at least the jumping fish worked. Now being at SFMM for the past year I no longer use a wrench and could care less about p.s.i. but regardless of my position I do the best job I can with what I have to work with. While its true I don't make the sick ass money Imagineering paid me all is good to me and I'm happy not being a grunt.

Yup today was great day to earn credits and get mega ERT if so desired. The first lot of parking lot never filled and only a handful of buses turned it into a great day also with the overcast, it was sweet. I spoke with one person who was from Ohio and wearing his American Coaster Enthusiast (ACE) shirt he was here to get his credits he needed on Ninja, Green Lantern and Road Runner Express. He was most happy and also got on many of the big rides but was leaving the park to get to Santa Monica Pier to get a credit.... oh and he had done all this by 12:15 ! ! ! He was going to continue his journey in the coming days with trips to Knotts and Disneyland ... so this guy was living life and doing it at great pace.... More power to ya! Happened to go past Riddlers only to see it stopped in the main lift with ride opps talking to the guests .. not sure how long it was down but for sure at least 15 minutes while i watched this group of guys trying to climb the Rock Wall with limited success ... but they were having fun trying and I think had side wagers as more money was flowing between them than I had seen in a while. All and all a great day at SFMM and looking forward to going back again tomorrow and doing it till I hurt.

Grass fire nearby. County firefighters responded to a report of smoke near Rye Canyon Road and The Old Road just after 5 p.m. tonight and discovered a fire, an official said. “We’ve got three fire trucks and a ground crew out there now,” a Fire Department official said. “There haven’t been any reports of injuries. The fire appeared to originate in the Santa Clara Riverbed.” The fire had blackened about one eighth of an acre by 5:45 p.m., the official said

"But do you know if they do the Coke can deal, still? Before WCB last month, my last time at the park was May 2010 and I know we used it then. It doesn't look like Coke Can is in play so far this season .. but if you have a can that has the offer on it and its not expired by all means it will work. Looks like only issue this Sunday would be its a "Free Friend Admission day" for those that have gotten the "2012 Fun Books' with their current season pass. Not sure how many that would attract but sure is good perk. Any rain Sunday would slow the crowd but should be able to do the entire park regardless within the time frame they are open. Looks like SFMM web site has tickets for about $36 or $78 for 2 after a $5 fee. There are discount vouchers shown on eBay to save $25 at main gate but i can't tell where they came from so hunt them down. Here is a link that offers $20 off at main gate for SFMM Link for $20 discount

I agree. I have to cover my ears every single time I walk under Superman. As for Food Etc. being supposedly gutted...was it really? I was at Magic Mountain the same day you were and I saw quite a few people in there eating. Yes people in there were either hanging out or eating fries from the french fries kiosk or eating ben n jerrys

SFMM trip - suggestions for a cheap hotel?
VTown661 replied to GCS's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
.... Sorry really ROFLMFAO ... you don't want Santa Clarita Motel just trust me. I live in Valencia perhaps 2 miles from this motel as the crow flies..... Its on Railroad st... think about it..... Ok .. The Rail tracks are about 85 feet in front of the motel.... and trust me on this, lots and lots of trains pulling many cars use these tracks from 11pm-6am ... and they just love to blow and blow and blow the horn. Now i have no axe to grind with this motel and its been there for years and just might be a hidden gem if your deaf, but i would consider any hotel off Lyons or right near SFMM at Hilton Gardens or Holiday Inn Express. Or heck do your SFMM and then head south about 60 miles to Long Beach/Orange County and spend night away from Valencia area, all the while munching on your In-N-Out along the way. -
. As far as I'm concerned the employee lunch area will be put in Deja Vu's spot since it will get removed for construction of LL:DOD and also according to some previous posts..... I would hope at least for myself that the employee lunch area isn't moved as far away as Deja Vu spot. Being that I'm now located out in the auto shop area heck even current location near Goliath is 12 min walk. Its nice in current location with lots of seating and Tv's to perhaps watch weekend sports and just get away from the loud noises of the park itself even for 30 minutes but a move to Deja Vu area I will never see the inside of it.

We went on the 30th (or something) last year, and the park was DEAD. We'll be heading up there one day next week, not sure what day yet. Not planning on getting our SP's until WCB most likely. Need a break from the place. Awesome! Thanks Sir Clinksalot. Definitely looking forward to getting on X2 more than twice in a visit. I thought it might be busy cause they are open a full 10am-8pm all next week as in they are anticipating large crowds. Evidently not! Anybody have cheap places to stay nearby? If you know how to use Priceline the Hyatt Valencia comes up with winning bids between $45-$60 and the hotel straight up books around $140 ... look at biddingfortravel .com for strategies on bidding ... And the Hyatt is in a great location but I think it dosent offer shuttle to SFMM... ............. Here is a example of someones winning bid. Hope you understand it as I do but I sure wont explain it at this time unless we are face to face as hard at times to explain re-bids....................... Bid one day before arrival using the biddingfortravel Priceline hotel link. Used several free rebids. A $60 counteroffer was provided on a $42 bid; declined and continued up. Eventually $52 failed and $54 was successful to get this. Published rate was $139 for that night. One night (a Thursday night), one room, total $68.55 with taxes and fees
