If you take a good look at it using either Google or Bing maps you will notice what looks like a service road that runs right through about the middle of the ride to access the area near the tip of Colossus. So that alone might be reason for no landscaping. And also if it were to be landscaped then any cell phones and keys would be harder to find when the guests fail to secure them properly. At least now keys can be turned into lost and found in a timely manner and I bet when they fall into the service road that perhaps they are picked up and turned in even before park closing. Of course any phone hitting the ground in that area I bet is destroyed.

Okay able to do this from home. Heres my photo for the day from SFMM. Sort of a Hiring time now going on and many applicants on hand looking for those jobs that start the end of March and last all the way through Freight Fest. So a nice 7 month gig. Apply online and pass the initial online app and get a phone number to schd a interview. Hiring Event

And don't forget this Sunday the 24th is "Ticket #1" in the "Fun Book" for BRING A FREE FRIEND DAY for season pass holders of the fun book. This weekend should be back to more normal as it was slammed last weekend during presidents weekend holiday. Looks like great weather (for feb anyway) again this weekend. I offered pictures a few weeks ago but nobody wanted any. Tell me 4 pictures you want and I will take them Sat or Sunday and that's 4 only and not of piles of dirt as I don't really care about build out of a ride or logos of a big "S" that needs repainting. Perhaps you want a picture of a new drinking fountain or perhaps like to see the new colors on the Rock Wall Challenge or new prizes available in the gaming area. Maybe I could go Rambo like The Woo and do some undercover assignment in Suzette's bakery and film them while they make me a funnel cake? .. 4 pictures and 4 pictures only taken from my IPhone3 .. ya sorry that's all I have.

Looking out my window facing towards SFMM as I can see the Sky Tower from my den. Now I'm not a weather man but it looks like rain might be moving into the area prior to the Tuesday prediction as looks rather gloomy outside. .. KTLA just said no rain today (Mark Kriski) .... LOL... I bet drizzle by noon And I know a few insiders at USH and word is 28,000 were there yesterday. Cant imagine as pretty much the entire top deck area at USH is under destruction.

Sort of a mini holiday weekend with Presidents Day Monday the 18th so perhaps park is geared up and fully staffed for busy weekend and both Lex & SEFK are up and running. Today was a little breezy in SCV not sure if wind is factor in either. Once you arrive in parking lot take a look and see if you see either running and go from there.

Was at SFMM today and it was colder then a witches you know what out there. Throttle had some cement poured here and there (leaving to experts to cal em footers). No big line for season pass . rain hit around 1:30 and people bee lined for the exits .. only was brief rain but wind and colder air was not good for me.

Last couple Saturdays the crowd gets there early as park does close at 6pm. So there is a early crowd rush but with simple planning by going opposite direction of the crowd Saturday should be a great day with showers off and on per Mark Kriski. As your parking your car make notice if Scream, Lex and SEFK are warming up and then when (walking/taking tram) heading to main gate make notice if Tatsu, X2 and Viper are warming up and use that as a guide as to which way you head first. My guess Saturday wont be crowded based on weather prediction and rain possible in the area.

The trams are going to be missed by me. Looking forward to trying the new ones. Not sure why they are needed for a 49 second ride from crosswalk to main gate (1229 feet per run-keeper app) How cool can they be in summer once the 5 foot wide doors are opened and 90-120 sweaty people hop on-board? Again hope the best for new trams/buses but I would just keep em the same, and repave the road instead.

For that time period 3/17 - 3/24 SFMM is not open during that week . Assume your arriving on the 17th which is also St Patricks Day (a Sunday) might be a good day for SFMM as long as its not a Bring A Friend Free Day. Otherwise your only available date might be Saturday the 23rd and park is open until 9pm. But might not want to wait until end of your trip and all your eggs in one basket aiming for the 23rd and unknown hours for Disney & DCA as they only work out hours 6 weeks prior. Aside Disneyland & DCA cant all be done in one day. Good luck in your choice

I'm going to try to look for it from Sky Tower today. I don't have time to look for it from the parking lot since I'm walking to SFMM from my hotel. The view from Sky Tower might not be that great as the parts are very similar in color to the ground and they aren't really huge sweeping pieces. They are rather small pieces of the overall puzzle that might become Throttle.

Agreed. I can't see them getting any big name acts yet. It may still be a couple of years away. This past summer the Street Drum Corps were doing perhaps 6 shows a day at SFMM and pretty much went unnoticed. All they won last year was the Drummies Award, which celebrates the world’s leading drummers and percussionists of all styles, where they beat out a little group that they had tied with the prior year by the name of The Blue Man Group! The Street Drum Corps did preform at many shows over the year such as Electric Daisy and Coachella so look for them to perhaps take over next summer the Moments Theater where My Generation has been for some time now.
