  1. Well, well, well.....SFMM does have flats! Honestly most of them I haven't even noticed on my visit last year. The only non-coaster ride I did that year was Log Jammer and thought it was a great log flume. And even if it wasn't hot by Californian standards I enjoyed the cooldown early afternoon. I wanna add another fact that Log Jammer was compared to northern european flumes: As its here quite cold compared to the southern parts of the US Log Jammer was also the wettest traditional log-flume I ever did.
  2. Finally able to post the carnival map. Will be on the carnival tomorrow with some friends. If you wanna find out which ride is what take a look at the German Carnival Ride Index
  3. These self-service kiosks in the netherlands always remind me of the restaurant in the movie Dark City....
  4. Nürburgring GmbH files bankruptcy. Source: SWR - german PBS station
  5. Finland on the other hand was very relaxed. But you cant be angry long if you've so many good coasters like at Gröna-Lund and Liseberg....
  6. Line-Skipping was terrible all day at Gröna-Lund - most teens ranged from rude to straight-out-agressive. Comparing it to last year I sadly have to say that for example US teens are far more polite. That said I still liked both parks - especially after I started to square my own shoulders....
  7. This is not a joke... Oktoberfest gets Beer-Pipeline (german) Namely the Hacker tents. And this while elsewhere there's still the "Beer-Or-No-Beer" discussion....
  8. Rides starting to have a maximum height is kind of rediculous. Few years ago no ride had those over here... Now they start it here also, but gladly most attendants don't argue as long as you fit into the seat - being 77 inches plus shoes I hate those.
  9. ^^I prefer the Transformer over the Airwolf or Top-Spin as the movements are not so erratic. Basically its like a Sitdown-RoundUp that inverts.
  10. How are the new Vekoma SLC trains? They've similar new trains for sitdown coasters. I've ridden one on the Boomerang at Walibi Holland and they're actually very good.
  11. 7 days to go... And only that many days until I can ride a real beast of portable ride again which was avoiding Hamburg for some years: The Transformer!
  12. Most rides introduced on hamburg.de - in german with pictures
  13. Does this WackyWorm even go up/down or tilt sideways at one point???
  14. Even the rides look like - nearly - fresh from the plant. I mean: The Arrow trains look brand new!
  15. Thanks a lot for all your TRs from chinese parks! These look painful like hell but would surely try it once. But looking at the tower I sometimes think with my nearly 2 meters of height I'm too tall for it....
  16. Not so many as they're not that common in my area... Knotts Berry Farm - Boomerang - my first with classic Arrow train, with some "nice" headbangs in the Cobra-Roll Sommerland Syd - Tornado - Inverted Boomerang, this was really fun, surprised that this had no headbanging at all Walibi Holland - Speed Of Sound - with great brand-new Vekoma trains and rubberbelt-like OTSRs this coaster is top fun In September at Vienna Prater I'll likely add the Boomerang which sports new trains with lapbars only - quite looking forward to it!
  17. Looks like a decent ride selection but so far only with one major coaster...but maybe more follow if the park's a success. If they've so many Vekoma coasters I wonder why they wanna take A Zamperla MotoCoaster - the Vekoma variant of this coaster is far better. On the other hand I hope they'll a Zamperla teacups-ride - those cups can be spinned way faster than those made by Mack.
  18. This week I saw some trucks by showmen Steiger (60m ferris wheel) and Rüth (Break Dancer and Take-Off) when I was driving to work on B4/B5 form highway exit Stellingen - really hikes up the anticipation of one month "Carnival Next Door"....
  19. @GeorgeT - yes, Artistico was there but also never saw it running all day. If I would've catched it in the air I would've made a pic @King_K - light crowds are one thing, waiting up to 20 minutes for a spin on Olympia is another. IMO you can't blame the showmen - I guess if less than 1/5 of the seats are filled it costs more to run the ride than they get from the patrons... @QueerRudie - last time in Hamburg I saw they were starting to upgrade the lightbubls on the loops with LEDs. When its in my hometown coming weeks I'll surely do nighttime visits and make pics of the progress. It's a thing all rides have to do soon as lightbulbs are soon forbidden in the EU.
  20. Entered my two pics. Did one get a confirmation by mail? Without it I always wonder if these webforms do really work.... Original Edited
  21. Really like that they do their own icecream waffle-cones as those made by industrial manufacturers so suck. Looks like a nice park but I guess down there its mostly way too hot for my tastes...
  22. The only thing better than a Looping Star in the late 70s were other Schwarzkopf coasters. I still prefer a Looping Star over ANY Arrow/Vekoma looper!
  23. Did it once that way as a school-kid when visiting Hansa-Park - then Hansaland - with a group and got the cold of my life. Was flat in bed for nearly two weeks. So after that experience I won't repeat it. I already had travels when I had 2-3 parks planned but the weather all week was horrible - so I skipped all parks. Another reason to visit that areas - London, Paris - again!
  24. Always love how people cling to the safety-bars - as if clinging to them would help if it would really fail...
