  1. Totally agree! Remember what Lisebergs original plans for Helix were? Good thing Helix happened and Green Fire didn't. But considering Wildfire uses basically all the length+terrain it can, it would be a shame if anything at all was compromised. It's pitch perfect right now in my opinion. Disagree with all my soul , I think the first concept for Helix looked like a good first spot contender for the Nr.1 steel in the world. Not that Helix as it is now isnt very good but the first concept was insane, tallest in Europe etc. Pretty hard to know I guess! Helix is a case of Jack of all trades - master of none, and I just have a feeling that Green Fire would have been a one trick pony with its drop, not to mention Liseberg as a park would be ruined for a long time. Like 'Liseberg' said, Green Fire would have become a coaster with a park around it.

But considering Wildfire uses basically all the length+terrain it can, it would be a shame if anything at all was compromised. It's pitch perfect right now in my opinion. That's a big relief. In that case, I'll be hoping for a mid/late-summer 2016 opening at the earliest!
  3. ^^ For now, I'll just pretend Wildfire was never announced to avoid being completely disappointed. The worst possible outcome is compromising layout/height to satisfy länsstyrelsen. This is probably just me, but not having Wildfire being build at all would be less of a disappointment than compromising the entire ride. Just the thought of it makes me depressed. I'll stay pessimistic and keep telling myself we're looking at zoning plans and a multiple year delay, even if it's exaggerated. Just no more disappointment, please.
  4. I'm honestly not very optimistic. There will definitely be changes to land and surroundings, and this would probably be an immediate negative from the Land and Environment court. At least from what I've been told, they are pretty sensitive about these things. Let's hope they reconsider, a 2016 opening would be great!
  5. I would honestly rather wait a few more years for a Wildfire with it's original layout, instead of a modified and sterilized layout that is approved by Länsstyrelsen. As long as the zero-g stall remains untouched, I'll be happy. This entire opposition is really because of neighbourhood conservatism, which I completely understand, I would also be sceptical in their position. The way I see it there seems to be no real environmental or noise related issues, so I hope for the project to continue shortly (probably won't though...). If noise should be a problem, I seriously wouldn't mind a some noice reduction tunnels! Still, this is very depressing, living about an hour from Kolmården. I thought I'd be riding my first RMC, but this is obviously not happening anytime soon...
  6. Lemonade. Rough coaster with amazing forces, or astonishingly smooth coaster with lack of forcefullness?
  7. I'm probably one of the few who really enjoyed Big Apple Coaster/Manhattan Express, lots of excitement!
  8. All the hype was real! I'm still in shock, it feels so good to live in Sweden right now!
  9. Wow, all the Wildfire hype is really cloaking the Helix testing! It's a shame. Helix deserves some recognition!
  10. I'm 13, and the first coaster I remember riding was Timberline Twister at Knott's when I was 2.
  11. Fuji-Q is looking better! Looking forward to see a POV!
  12. Wow, great work! Looking forward to seeing one of these in the future!
  13. 15 minutes only for Twister!? Lol, when I was there the que was like 3 hours... Awesome report by BTW!
  14. I didn't know about this event. But thats ok because I'm going to Gröna Lund in a few days! The coaster looks awesome! Just look at the hairtime! Amazing footage!
  15. I saw this on my way to Bush Gardens. It's so sad it shut down. I hope another park will buy it.
  16. I wouldn't count New Texas Giant as a wooden coaster anymore, now it's more like a hybrid coaster. But the coaster looks amazing! Without doubt the best hybrid coaster in the world! Great footage Robb! Rickard
