From the latest news I heard from the park. They still plan to open the water park this year. The waterpark is not going to be huge so it's possible but they have a lot of work to do. I see the theme park opening in 2017 at the earliest. But who knows, there could be a lot going on behind those trees. Grand Texas seems to think they are still on schedule. From their FB - We are very excited about 2015 and cannot wait to see the progress unfold. We are thrilled to have made CNN's list but, to clear up any confusion, the Theme Park is scheduled for 2016!

I don't mind staying by a strip club but my girlfriend might. I'll look into the Good Nite Inn. Might be worth seeing the night crowd at that Denny's. I'm trying to stay somewhere in the $50-$60 range and thought near Seaworld would be a good area to stay for 3 nights. Of course I don't mind driving away to get cheaper.

They painted parts of the station and signs. The coaster still needs a major paint job. Doubt it will happen this year. They are keeping Rockville area. The only thing changing is one of the buildings will now be the movie theater where Batman parents died. An odd choice for theming. Speaking of the ride, SFFT posted this photo of construction. Anyone else curious as to why they are keeping the old Motorama station?

A quote from the IAAPA thread to answer your question. It was also confirmed here in this thread. So yes, this coaster is in good hands. -

^^ I would say they probably will do a similar pricing to High Roller in Las Vegas. Where the night time experience is more than the day time ticket. It's $25 for day and $35 for night on High Roller. I'm sure they will do a combo pass where you can ride the coaster and go up the tower. I kind of feel they may market it as a night club at night. Personally I could see the price from anywhere from $30 to $60+ a person. It's not like some of you havn't paid more for a kiddie credit. -

^Great videos. Thanks Robb and TPR crew for the coverage of IAAPA. Definitely made my last two days at work less boring seeing the updates on Twitter.
