Not too shabby with the green towers. I thought the blue and green worked well, but this is nothing to complain about. The platforms halfway up the tower remain blue- it looks great.

They can, not sure why they didn't. Maybe after it gets re-themed as X3.

Good for the Dodgers that their location is conducive to revenue streams like this. I wouldn't be surprised if they had the team walk around the ballpark looking for change under seats after games.

Great to hear. It works so well on Raging Bull, I always felt like the other B&M hypers were missing something by not having one.

One park has already done this--Silver Dollar City with Powder Keg (a "Frankensteined" ride that's a lot of fun). I definitely would love to see something like Powder Keg at KD (and other parks). I have a hard time coming up with a ride more underrated than Powder Keg. Can't think of a better fit for Holiday World if they eventually add steel. Some of those cartoonish launchers S&S is building in China are pretty intriguing as well.

The rotating and possibly capacity are the only two practical reasons I could see a park going with Gyro Drop instead of Second Gen, but according to their own web site, Giant Drop has a capacity of up to 1440 pph and Gyro Drop is up to 1360 pph. Has KD's Tower ever rotated? Side note- Never knew Intamin was offering their take on the S&S version.

This is just an Intamin Gyro Drop being inferior to Second-Generation offerings. They look neat with all the spinning and such, but that's about it.

I thought it was really cool that Six Flags chose to commemorate the Wright Brothers and their achievements with this ride's design and theme. Now everyone will know how it feels to be an aviation pioneer racing through the skies at 12 mph.

Those covers are the only surface I can think of that could be used when it comes time to promote things like Karate Kid or Stride. Well apparently we won't have to worry about that, at least for the time being. Looks like all sorts of Six Flags parks are taking off their ad wraps. How will I know what to buy?

Based on the Wingriders already in operation, I get the feeling that the photogenic quality of the ride type is the biggest selling point to begin with.

This (or one of the HUSS/Mondial/Intamin variations) is the closest thing to a consolation prize as could be for losing Pitfall.

Between the Batman clone, Vekoma GIB, and a good looking floorless, this park has one of the better looking coaster lineups in Europe. That would be unfortunate if true,

I dig Georgia Scorcher, Leviathan and Oblivion. Judge Roy Scream is as unique as it gets. Apart from those, you could compile a list of B&M coasters found at Busch parks and take your pick. Kumba, Alpengeist, Sheikra...all good stuff.

Judging by the number of coasters you've ridden, is it safe to assume that you've been to Great America? I read this post and initially thought that Skycoastin Steve was going to SFGAm with the intention adding a credit or two and then spending the rest of the visit re-riding the B&M flyer. I had to go back and re-read the original post to see if he meant Six Flags America instead of Six Flags Great America. I refuse to believe that anyone takes the time and effort to go anywhere with the purpose of power riding those wretched coasters.

I've never been on one, but I don't blame Cedar Fair for going with Mondial. This looks like a dinky carnival ride. I would rather have Mondial's take on this concept even if it didn't take riders and it was purely for the light package.

Just reading this post really lets an observer appreciate how solid SFA's coaster collection. It's comparable to or better than just about any park in it's vicinity. Even excluding the Invertigo from a few years ago or the forthcoming B&M standup this year- an Intamin megacoaster, Premier launcher, classic wooden coaster, a GCI twister, a Vekoma flyer better than B&M's take on the genre (of the 4 east side installations at least), and a second-generation Intamin Drop Tower to boot- that's a great lineup when contrasted with any park, and yet remarkably, the park's reputation is mud to most of the message board crowd. Unfairly IMO.

Damn, makes me want it back nearby. Mt. Olympus is a park that looks ready to add a ride with shoddy operations...

Looks great. Looks like this is what you get in terms of new US B&M installations that don't depend on visuals or placement for a good ride experience.

Yeah, the turn is wide because at SFGAm it had to go over the train track. The drop then brought you back over the tracks to the station side where the rest of the ride was. It was kinda hard to see at Great America. The train tracks were still to the right side of the lift. It was just one of those fun little pre-lift dips. Raging Bull, Nitro, Wildfire, even some of their inverters have this. Kind of fun little section if you ride in row- which is the only row I've known on this ride since probably 2001. That might be why my opinion of the ride is in the minority. Too bad for SFA that the station house isn't coming with it. The way it was designed resulted in most people unknowingly walking past the row 1 line, resulting in wait times that were identical to those of rows 2-7. Iron Wolf is looking great. I hope this one sticks around long enough for the greenery to fill out. It was great after the (non)MCBR drop into the flat spin. So thankful they found a purpose for other than being recycled for scrap.
