  1. Just going to ask this question right now... Was anyone as pissed off as I was when 'Mr. Six's Dance Coaster' was announced as Magic Mountain's new coaster?
  2. Yes, but isn't that true of most Arrow looping coasters? Quite true. My first ride ever in GASM was a prime example of this above post.
  3. I've ridden Raptor at Cedar Point in the rain... INSANE!!! COMPLETELY INSANE! Isn't it strange how most of the coasters mentioned here are either B&M inverted coasters or Woodies? Also... MAVERICK = UNBELIEVABLE IN THE RAIN!
  4. Top 10 Steel: 1. Maverick @ CP 2. Nitro @ SFGAdv 3. Storm Runner @ Hershey 4. Millenium Force @ CP 5. Bizzaro @ SFGAdv 6. Griffon @ BGW 7. Sea Serpent @ MP 8. Hydra @ DP 9. Talon @ DP 10. 5. You're asking me, right? If so, it was...Relatively small. It was about the the size of a large piece of rope. Scariest thing is, my aunt's boyfriend saw a HUGE snake in the boyfriend... If he had given it 5 minutes, it would've been 'Snakes in an Amusement Park'.... Starring Samuel L. Jackson...
  6. And that drawing is EXACTLY why fan expectation is killed once the actual coaster opens... Still, TTD is already intense in a sense, and with more track to it, it's be incredible to think of! Fortunetly, we have Storm Runner to give us that experience shown in the drawing...Only half the size, which is a fair sacrifice.
  7. This is so funny because of the fluffy, fluffy bunnies filled with medicine and goo thing...lol fluffy, fluffy bunnies filled with medicine and goo fluffy, fluffy bunnies filled with medicine and goo fluffy, fluffy bunnies filled with medicine and goo fluffy, fluffy bunnies filled with medicine and goo ...LOL I did that purposely, actually. It's fun to know a simple word like lo- ckers Can turn into a huge statement like that! Still, it'd be nice if I was told about the option policy BEFORE I waited 60 minutes...
  8. I'm going to be in Wildwood in October for a monster truck show on the beach, and I'm just wondering, is that GCI Woodie project complete? I'm asking because I heard about it last year while I was in Wildwood, and I got real psyched about it, and since then, nothing came out of it... I've been on Great White and Sea Serpent, both wonderful coasters (Yes...I said a VEKOMA BOOMERANGE CLONE was wonderful...), but the pier where Great Nor'Easter is is never open when I'm there...Can anybody tell me how much better it is than any other of Vekoma's "masterpieces"? And I'm still bummed about Castle Dracula...That place was the best...
  9. This is why SF is not a competitor in the Amusement Park industry when it comes to customer service, and probably never will be. They piss off a guest who just spent $13 bucks for a souvenir bottle and is minding his own business, but look the other way when people use profanity, wear inappropriate shirts and cut in line. Those security guards are useless, and do more harm than good. Funny you mention cutting in line... I was waiting on Kingda Ka, and apparently, some idiot tried letting his wife and two kids (Who were WAYYY two small to ride on Kingda ka anyway...) jump onto the line at a cutoff point where security guards can walk in. The security guard spent 10 minutes telling the stubborn idiot that he had to follow the rules, because if he didn't, this nice security guard would get in trouble for it...This man continued to argue about it senselessly, so then this guard had to call ANOTHER guard over to help convince this moron that it wasn't the two guys' rules, but THE PARK'S RULES... That's probably the first time I've EVER seen a security guard carry out the line cutting rule... Even my uncle once broke the swearing rule...Even though, like you said, NO ONE caught him...Thankfully...
  10. I went to Great Adventure last week, and I must say, a day of ODDITIES! I went with my cousin, Aunt, and my aunt's boyfriend. We were originally going to stop a Great Adventure for 5-6 hours, and then go pick up my other cousin from his home. (He's autistic, so he has to live at a house with other autistic kids...). When we're driving on the exit, my aunt's girlfriend (Chris) decides, "Let's go to the Safari!". In saying this, all four of us get into a comical arguement on what to do about the day. We finally just went to the park at around 11:30, and seeing as it was my cousin's first time looking at the major leagues of coasters, I decided to take him for a day of thrills...Which worked out in 60% of a way... Skull Mountain - Walk on. (He enjoyed it. Stated the lapbar was tight on his chest though.) Nitro x2 - Walk on both times (MAJOR fun on both runs! Middle seats the first ride, front row second time. Intial reaction: "LET'S DO THAT AGAIN!") Batman - I decided to skip Batman for the day. I knew my cousin would be somewhat underwhelmed after hitting Nitro twice, so I decided to go small... The Dark Knight - 15-20 min wait (He only enjoyed on pitfal drop and the tight turns. I'm sure NO ONE can blame him. ) After this, we headed over to the Golden Kingdom, only to get our drinks filled. In doing this, 3 things happened in a time-span of about 20 minutes... 1. A VERY rude lady made a vulgar comment about my aunt when asking if she could get our drinks re-filled. 2. As I was sitting by the booth, waiting for my drink, a security guard walks over and says "There's a snake nearby. Don't worry, it's not poisonous..." I look down...And right below me... SNAKE!!!!! I literally jumped about 10 feet back after seeing the snake... 3. After getting our drinks and heading over to the Runaway Mine Train, we spotted a groundhog, who was happily being fed some onion rings by a few families. I managed to get two shots of it, but my phone is being a jerk right now, so no photo! Runaway Mine Train - Walk on (Only ride where we all went on. Enjoyable ride for a mine train, and Chris even met one of his friends on the line!) Bizzaro - 20 min wait (My cousin's favorite ride of the day. And honestly, nothing's changed in quality since it was changed. Still an amazing coaster!) El Toro - 60-70 min wait (Just like always, INCREDIBLE. Unfortunetly, my cousin was complaining about the ride being short, and since we waited 60 minutes in the heat, his attitude didn't help. Still, at least he didn't have to ride the dreaded VIPER! ) Rolling Thunder - We decided against hitting RT, simply because the line was about 30 minutes, and if I was waiting for any coaster, it'd be a particular green and blue one...Unfortunetly... Kingda Ka - BROKE (WHAT A FLIPPIN' SURPRISE! We waited for about 2 hours, from the launch system shorting out, to birds sitting on the track, to articles sitting on the track, time just didn't help us on this one today...) Superman: Ultimate Flight - We didn't bother, seeing as the line went on for about 90 minutes, and we didn't have that kind of time... And after getting $3 stolen from us on a crap soda machine OUTSIDE THE PARK (No surprise here... ), we finally made our way back to the car and left to pick up my cousin...I'd tell you about the antics that ensued during the ride over and back from my other cousin's house...But that's another story... As for GASM's demolition, the only time I was able to see the demolition was from Kingda Ka's station, and from what it looks like...Lots of rocks...That was all that changed from my trip to Great Adventure in early August. Overall, I'd call it successful if I had gotten onto Kingda Ka, but you can't win em all...I'd say it was a fun day. And added to that, I recently had a discussion with my Aunt that me and my cousin will POSSIBLY get Season Passes for next season...I see a insanely fun 2011 on the horizon... EDIT: Regarding the Season Passes...When exactly is the right time to buy Season Passes for 2011? End of this season? Beginning of 2011 season? During the offseason?
  11. Though I love Hershey for it's coasters and somewhat enjoyable water rides (And the AMAZING Henry Ford museum only a mile or so away from it! ), I've got to say I like Knoebels more. Not only is the place incredibly family-friendly and fun, but Phoenix is an INCREDIBLE coaster! (Twister...Meh, could be better...). And I'm considering Knoebels for next summer, because of Gold Nugget making its return, and HOPEFULLY Flying Turns will FINALLY open and provide a incredible experience! I love Hershey for it's coasters and water park, but Knoebels is just alot more friendly atmosphere and doesn't have a corporate feel to it...
  12. Though I've only been to SFGAd, I recently had an experience where I had been waiting on El Toro for 45 minutes, and right about the time I hit that point, a security guard told me I couldn't have the cup on line... Because of that, I had to toss my cup, and even worse, I was quite pissed, even after I rode an excellent coaster. My aunt's boyfriend, who's actually quite chummy with people he's never met, was talking with a park employee, and apparently: 'The policy with cups and other stuff is only followed on the rides that PROVIDE lockers. If a ride, say, Rolling Thunder or a mine train, DON'T provide lockers, then you can hold the cups on line or even on the ride...' Basically, if they don't provide you an option to pay $1 for the lockers, it's only their fault for not providing the option, which means you're allowed to carry a souvenier cup on the ride... Wierd policy, yes, but it is quite fair...Unless you pinch every penny you find on a sidewalk...
  13. I love how all the Cedar point fanboys on Youtube were saying, 'ZOMG, WINDSEEKER IS A 300 FEET ROLLER COASTER?!!'. And after everyone discovered it was a StarFlyer, everyone said, "This sucks.", or "I'm not buying Season Passes for 2011..", and my favorite comment, "Another epic fail by Cedar point..." Honestly, I could care less that it isn't a coaster this year. Maverick was more than enough to quench my thirst for a new coaster at Cedar point, so I'm good until 2012-2013 without a coaster! Honestly, when I heard about Windseeker, it sound terrifying! With only a seat holding you 300 feet in the air, nobody can say they wouldn't be scared!
  14. I'm sorry, but I HAD to chuckle when I saw that NONE of the Six Flags parks made it into the 'individual park attendance' until you got to 'Mexico-South America'. I guess...Parents figure Six Flags is straying from the "Family Friendly' department?
  15. YES! PLEASE! That'd be a perfect addition to Dorney! With the place being flooded with only steel coasters, it'd be refreshing to get a GCI woodie! And honestly, riding the back-breaking madness of Thunderhawk has become tiresome. In fact, there's been reports from multiple people that the que area for Thunderhawk is being overrun by hornet and wasp nests... I think Dorney better fix their attention onto Thunderhawk, and realize that they either should renovate the thing, or just kill it to let another coaster (Or ride) take its place... EDIT: For the record, I don't HATE Thunderhawk...I actually enjoyed it the first few times I rode it...But last year, the ride felt completely different from the last time I was on it...And, I also counted FIVE hornet nests along the line...I'm lucky I didn't get stung.
  16. Seeing as Laser has left a huge, empty space at the back of Dorney Park, I recently came up with an insane idea... What if they could take out some of the parking lot (Leave a space or tunnel for cars that are driving by to get through from under the supports), and maybe build a Flight of Fear-type LIM launched coaster? Sure, it sounds far-fetched, but another theory is, they could remove Thunderhawk and add a sort of launch coaster into the park's variety (I KNOW, Possesed is a launch coaster...). Not only that, but with how LIM coasters work, perhaps the height restriction can be tweeked to 48 inches, which would allow younger kids to have fun on a launch coaster, seeing as they wouldn't be able to ride Possesed, which has a 54 inches height restriction. It's just an idea, and honestly, I could see it working at some point or another.
  17. Don't quote me on this, but if Dorney would remove some of the trees near the former site of Laser, perhaps they could fit a LIM coaster of a sort? Either that, or remove Thunderhawk, because not only has it losts its popularity, but it's become SUPER rough the past couple of years. Believe me, I went on it last year, and the thing was rougher than any coaster I've been on since GASM in 2007. (And to be fair, last two times I went on Scream Machine, it was smooth as silk!)
  18. Seems likely. Last I heard, Dorney wasn't looking for another coaster for another couple years. Then again, the pattern of new coasters still follows itself recently... 1996 - Steel Force 1999 - Colosuss (Laser) 2001 - Talon 2005 - Hydra 2008 - VooDoo Seems likely that we'll get another coaster in another 2 or so years...If they still have room left, seeing as the place may just barely be able to hold another coaster.
  19. Nice pics! I'm glad to see new pics of Dorney, seeing as I wasn't able to get there this year AT ALL... I'm also interested in that new area where Demon Drop is located...I was thinking they'd place it in the spot Laser used to occupy, seeing as the last time I was there, there seemed to be quite a bit of land preparation going on in that area. Oh well, I don't own the place. Speaking of site preparation, were there any signs of a new attraction going anywhere for next year? (I know about the Snoopy Starlight package, but just wondering, as we've seen in the past, it's possible to get an export coaster (i.e. Steel Venom to VooDoo)
  20. Obvious answer! Project 18! All joking aside, any new news on what's going on at Superman? I'm intrigued if its just a rehab, or if they're going to do something more with the ride. I have a friend that lives out about 30 minutes from Magic Mountain, and I asked him to ask one of the Superman employees, and apparently, one of the employees said he couldn't say much about it, but somethig is indeed changing on Superman for 2011...
  21. The thing is, whenever I'm riding coasters with OTSRs, I NEVER experience pain riding them. Usually, my head just fastens into the middle and kinda stays there. Still, with how secure they made the lapbars, I'd say they're far more suitable and less complicated than the Over the Shoulder Restraints...
  22. I find it funny that we're already discussing the 18th coaster arriving at Magic Mountain, when their 17th hasn't even OPENED YET.... Then again, 'Mr. Six's Dancecoaster' isn't exactly the coaster Magic Mountain fanboys were waiting for as a 17th coaster.
  23. Last coaster I rode was El Toro last week. It would've been Kingda Ka, but unfortunetly, launch system was shorting out as soon as we got on... And it was a 1 HOUR WAIT...RARE, HUH?
  24. Hi, just for the record, I'm brand new here, so don't mind any stupid posts for my first couple weeks of membership! I haven't been to Disney since '03 or '04, and I'll say, I remember Space Mountain as being one of the original coasters I've ever ridden, and the most I remember was running rampant in the dark. Still, the next time budget allows a trip to Orlando, I'll definetly be sure to put Space Mountain down on what to ride on my trip!
