Did they just do that to make the ride taller for PR purposes. That's pretty dumb if that is the case.

Sad to hear, but he did some great things for the world of roller coasters. My condolences to his family and friends. -

Wow. Did anyone hear a price? S&S builds some really nice technologically advanced rides. -

Holy crap! Awesome post! Your signature says 1500+ coasters. I've got some catching up to do. -
Good God. I want to say something but I need to keep it at PG-13 so I'll refrain. I just hate these cash grabs. I will not go watch this in 3D.

That's actually a good point. The locals are the ones who have the fondest memories of the ride. Granted it is a classic ride and if properly restored and marketed in a new location even 12+ hours away, it could probably thrive. That said, I'm not to optimistic at this point. -

About a 2 1/2 hour drive away from me. I should go grab that credit. Nice pics. -

If they present a concrete plan, i'd be more likely to support it. I'm definitely interested to see what they have in mind. -
Girl falls in open sewer while texting

The girl should be more careful and I'm sure she will be now, but at the same time, the city workers should have blocked the area off. -

Very uniquely themed park but it seems to fit the area well. Reports are that it's closing though. Sad, but life goes on. -
Why do wooden coasters have seat dividers?
beatle11 replied to vrf19977's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Lol...Some may like that idea....not that there's anything wrong with that of course. I don't think they really make much of a difference unless your a single rider. -

Sad to see a park close. Especially when there's really not much else around. -
What Was The Last Coaster You Rode?
beatle11 replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The last one I rode was the custom Arrow looper Dragon Fire at Canada's Wonderland in August. A bit rough but it's lots of fun. It's actually a clone of the Big Loop at Heide Park in Germany. -
Worst Coaster Ever?
beatle11 replied to Mind Eraser's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Predator is awful...i rode it years ago and I can't remember where I sat, but it massacred by back something awful. I needed multiple chiropractor visits to fix it. Never riding that again. Sorry Darien Lake but it ain't worth it. SLC's are definitely brutal too. The Zamperla flyer at Canada's Wonderland Time Warp is quite painful too. -

Love the pics..that boat jump ride is nuts. -
Kawasemi at Tobu Zoo Park in Japan cost 1,760,000,000 yen (about 14.6 million USD) according to RCDB. And considering that Intimidator 305 cost about 25 million, it sounds about right. But I wouldn't call a Mega-Lite a "marquee" ride. GG, GCI or a EuroFighter may work for 8 million should be interesting.

Is that seriously a pedal powered Ferris Wheel? Wow! Never in America, or Canada.
