  1. The Discover and Travel Channel Web sites should have some sort of listings--you could try scanning them for Memorial Day Weekend to see if any theme-park specials are scheduled. They might even have a page or two devoted to them.
  2. ^^You're supposed to serve your best dog only to honored guests.
  3. ^I think this might be due to the rather mild winter we had this year--not a lot of rain to slow up the work, so Griffon went up pretty quickly. Just a thought.
  4. This is yet another cool Lego display, but the Luxor sphinx looks like it really needs to break wind.
  5. The "squished balls" message needed something extra. So, if you don't mind . . . Error_Message 2.bmp
  6. ^Seems to me that it would be quicker and easier to cook a regular omelette, but that does sound like an interesting experiment.
  7. ^Actually, they're saying, "If something's wrong, we die--so you won't have to."
  8. I have all of the DVD sets to date, and quite a pile of VHS tapes of this often brillant show. "Mr. B Natural" might be the most disturbing short they ever showed. And who can forget the classic "Jet Jaguar" theme from "Godzilla vs. Megalon"?: "He jock it made of steel . . ."
  9. ^That's a good point, Tom. They do seem to be fighting the wrong battle.
  10. ^You know, it's rather difficult to make the "irrational court that has taken leave of its senses" plea work. Judges tend to get a little irritated at that.
  11. Now that you mention it, having this at BGE would rule! But Griffon should be nice for this season.
  12. Based on what I've seen here, I think any park would be proud to have this ride--excellent theming! Thanks for sharing your day with us.
  13. Hey, if lobsters didn't want to be messed with, they wouldn't be so damn tasty.
  14. The only time I've ever been to Carowinds was for Winterfest two years ago--Top Gun was great, but that was the only coaster they were running. I definitely want to get back there during "normal" operations--looks like a pretty nice park. You've inspired me to be on the prowl for Paramount logos at KD next Saturday.
  15. Looks like Six Flags may have the right idea with this park. I've never been, myself, but my nieces and nephews have always liked the place. Thanks for sharing the photos.
  16. ^I agree--make the thumbnails bigger and use fewer words (that should help with the "textiness"). For example: Rather than saying "Alton Towers in the UK featuring etc., etc."
  17. I saw Breach tonight--excellent movie. Even though you know from the beginning how the story ends, they do an excellent job keeping you on the edge of your seat. Chris Cooper should be up for an Oscar next year for this one.
  18. How about this? Error_Message.bmp
  19. ^It was your experience with drugs and whores that got you the Disney jobs, right? Or was it your years as a mercenary fighting in the Congo?
  20. I ambled over to the park for opening day--very pleasant, unlike the freezing passholder preview day (and the ribs from the Smokehouse were awesome). Not much to report, but here are two "detail" shots of Griffon (plus a bonus pic that I think is kinda funny). As for the sign, very well put. A lousy shot of the same bridge, taken from the train. One of the contractors left a gate open in the construction wall, so I took a shot of the bridge (and main entrance, I think). Nice rockwork, eh?
  21. The new typeface and color are much better.
