I have all of the DVD sets to date, and quite a pile of VHS tapes of this often brillant show. "Mr. B Natural" might be the most disturbing short they ever showed. And who can forget the classic "Jet Jaguar" theme from "Godzilla vs. Megalon"?: "He jock it made of steel . . ."

Hey, if lobsters didn't want to be messed with, they wouldn't be so damn tasty.

The only time I've ever been to Carowinds was for Winterfest two years ago--Top Gun was great, but that was the only coaster they were running. I definitely want to get back there during "normal" operations--looks like a pretty nice park. You've inspired me to be on the prowl for Paramount logos at KD next Saturday.

Looks like Six Flags may have the right idea with this park. I've never been, myself, but my nieces and nephews have always liked the place. Thanks for sharing the photos.

^I agree--make the thumbnails bigger and use fewer words (that should help with the "textiness"). For example: Rather than saying "Alton Towers in the UK featuring etc., etc."

I saw Breach tonight--excellent movie. Even though you know from the beginning how the story ends, they do an excellent job keeping you on the edge of your seat. Chris Cooper should be up for an Oscar next year for this one.

I ambled over to the park for opening day--very pleasant, unlike the freezing passholder preview day (and the ribs from the Smokehouse were awesome). Not much to report, but here are two "detail" shots of Griffon (plus a bonus pic that I think is kinda funny). As for the sign, very well put. A lousy shot of the same bridge, taken from the train. One of the contractors left a gate open in the construction wall, so I took a shot of the bridge (and main entrance, I think). Nice rockwork, eh?

The new typeface and color are much better.

^^Ah, the old "family vacation" scenario, eh? Well, that makes sense. I've been to both parks, and I would give the edge to Tampa overall (even more so, if they put in something along the lines of DarKastle). But BGE is a "seasonal" park that plays to a different audience, whereas BGA has to compete a bit with the big boys in Orlando to get noticed. Both are excellent parks with plenty to offer--and I think Griffon will be an excellent addition to Euroburg.

Take your car. You might want to find out whether you have to register your car in Florida, too (this could depend on how long you plan to remain in the Sunshine State).

What I can't figure is why you keep going back when you don't enjoy the park. Well, at least you're keeping an open mind.

^Agreed--what's the point of blowing a lot of cash reinventing an ad campaign for a similar ride? Griffon is going to stand on its own quite well, I think--it's looking great.
