  1. I don't know what they have to complain about. They agreed to license their name and were paid for it. They could have, you know, looked at the business plan, hired industry experts to evaluate the project, etc. Maybe they're mad because they're among the $300 million worth of unpaid bills. Hell, I've always thought that chain was mediocre, at best (but still better than Planet Hollywood). I think the best of the "show-biz" gimmick restaurant chains is House of Blues.
  2. Looks like you got to ride "Splash Bandit" all day.
  3. Strange, but when I rode White Canyon in 2007, I didn't think it was all that bad. Then I watched the Yomiuriland video on the DVD. I must've had the lucky magic seat or something--everybody else looked like they were riding a train into hell.
  4. ^And that in moderation.
  5. Drayton's G-Force is one of the worst rides ever, thanks to the X Car restraints and that funky, inverted lifthill. However, Formule X, a launched X Car coaster, is a great little ride. So, I'm glad that Universal decided to get away from B&M (as much as I like their rides) for this project.
  6. ^Actually, the Williamsburg Hospitality Center (brewery tour) have been closed for quite some time. The Brewmaster's Clubs were located in the Festhouse in Germany and in Grogan's in Ireland. The clubs were nice, and I'll miss them. Good places to beat the crowds and heat and sample some free beer, chocolates, strawberries, and cheese.
  7. ^Since we already have a KD discussion thread (which started as a "KD's property lines" thread), I've merged your topic into it. Everyone can speculate away here. Thank you, Chuck
  8. ^Yeah, that's a great way to promote your product: "Our beer has 'limited appeal,' even when it's free."
  9. ^I've merged this topic with the already existing thread discussing the parks and the InBev takeover of Busch. And boo to no more free beer (even if it is Bud). Chuck
  10. Must be a "Jersey thing." I knew nothing about Avenue Q before--now I want to see it.
  11. ^It has everything to do with boredom on Silver Star.
  12. ^There's no money to change the site, I guess.
  13. After Larry and I checked the park out last September, my opinion was "a nice place, but . . ." You know a park is in trouble if you're there on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend and the the longest wait of the day is for dinner--and not because the place was busy, but because the service was sl-o-o-o-w. Too bad that Nights in White Satin: The Trip will probably just be trashed--that was the best ride there.
  14. Does the cheesy anus come with bacon?
  15. The train and the rocking horses are exactly the same as they were at the "old" Nut Tree, when I was a kid.
  16. Extra-extra ERT on Expedition GeForce comes to mind (along with Elissa's stern expression as we all ran for the bus because of it). A close second would be the ERT on Troy.
  17. ^Actually, they have quite a bit of the track up, don't they? Thanks for the latest look at Universal's new ride, Adam. I'm looking forward to this one.
  18. It's not a matter of being "offended." Polls along the lines of "favorite coaster" are discouraged, mainly because they clutter up the boards. I recommend that you review the results from the Mitch Hawker poll to see where your favorite coasters stack up among other enthusiasts' favorites. There's a whole thread devoted to the Hawker poll here. Please post your comments there. This thread will be locked. Chuck PS--And older TPR members, no backseat moderating, please.
  19. Robb, I tried the large video on my office computer with kick-butt broadband, and it worked perfectly--no stalling or lagging at all. Upload speed about 3,700 kpbs Download speed about 3,000 kpbs Crap, I so have to upgrade my home computer.
  20. Your reputation precedes you, Terry.
  21. Maybe it's made from ground Boston butt steak?
  22. The "pre-buffer" (which took longer than 10 seconds for me) helped a lot. Both versions ran quite well (with only a momentary "stall"). At about 1:10 in the smaller version, the audio seemed to get ahead of the video (which skipped a bit to catch up--but this could have more to do with my old, piece-of-crap cpmputer than the player). Here's my Internet speeds: download, 752 kpbs upload, 139 kpbs (God, it's time to replace this thing.)
  23. OK, who wants to take up a collection for Fiesta Express? It could easily fit in your backyard.
  24. Good to see that the old Nut Tree Railroad is back in operation. My family was very fond of the Nut Tree when I was kid--the original restaurant was great (especially the mini-burgers and turkey tamales). The railroad used to run from the a toy store to the Nut Tree Airport (they had a private airstrip way back when).
  25. Hmm--I doubt that even Sherlock Holmes could solve this one.
