Rethemeing the park would certainly tie in well with one of President Obama's books: The Audacity of Hope. -
What was your favourite Super Bowl Halftime-Showact?
cfc replied to gerd.muller's topic in Random, Random, Random
^Yeah, they dropped a lyric in "Born to Run." Much rather watch an aging Bruce (who is pretty damned energetic at 59) than an aging Mick Jagger (who has always looked like hell--although I do like some of the Stones' albums, like "Sticky Fingers" and "Some Girls"). -

^I think acoustics seemed to be the biggest problem; either that, or NBC did a really crappy job with the sound (you could hardly hear Springsteen half the time). Springsteen's new album harkens back to the old "Born to Run" days, so I didn't think the new song was out of place. I think all the performers are pretty constrained by the time limits for these halftime shows. All they can do are quick medleys, so there's no chance to build their performance. -

^I go along with Bruce and Prince. But, for the most part, Super Bowl halftime shows are, seriously, not very good. (Still, using rock acts beats the "Up with People" crap they used to do during the 1970s.) BTW, your embedded video doesn't work. -
Yeah, I was a bit surprised that they didn't review Warner's "fumble" at the end, but that's the way it goes.

^Steeler coach Mike Tomlin is from Newport News, Va. Congratulations to him and the Steelers--and to the Cardinals for never "giving up."

Excellent night shots--most of mine from HHN last year stunk. Great event, though (particularly the Scary Tales and Body Collectors mazes). -
^Polish the Lombardi trophy with a snot rag? Eww! Please don't hurt me Steelers' fans! I do think your team is gonna win.

^I wouldn't say that it's a "stupid" question, just an "academic" one. I don't know what the trademark laws say, or even if they could be enforced when it comes to the late park's name. -

^New stuff, old junk Even if it's defunct It's still Hard Rock Park to me. With apologies to Billy Joel . . . scratch that, I hate Billy Joel! There's really nothing else they can call it, even if Hard Rock International objects. -

^And some members wonder why we're so "buggy" on spelling, punctuation, and grammar. It's a Boomerang. The "pain" will come soon enough. -
^I agree. I think DisneySea is the best of the Disney parks (and that's saying a lot). Tokyo Disneyland is pretty awesome, too.

There still is. I rode the Haunted River (where Volcano is now) when I first moved to Virginia in the mid-1980s. The dark-ride portion was fun, if a bit cheesy, but the best part was the last drop--one of the steepest I'd ever experienced on any water ride up to that time. KD had quite a bit more charm back then. -

I do believe she's experiencing "the power of the mythical Griffon"! She's at Tokyo Busch Gardens! Great report, Eric--DisneySea is awesome! The Sindbad ride is one of the hidden gems there, I think. -
The first chapter of Gulliver's Travels is awesome.

Boy hurt in 2000 Disneyland accident dies.
cfc replied to the ghost's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I've always felt that the mother and Disney shared the blame for this one. Yes, she should've been paying more attention to her son, but Disney was faulted for being very slow to react to the accident. This led to new safety systems for Roger Rabblt and improved emergency response at DL, as I recall. -
