  1. This is a serious bummer. Hades was great when we rode it in 2006. I guess there's no rush to get back to the Dells now. Avalanche (or Hellcat) is actually the best reason to go to the Dells. I liked the tunnel sections of Hades, but getting to them was pretty painful. Then again, there were some on the Mid-America Trip who really liked it--I just wasn't among them.
  2. I haven't ridden Grizzly at CGA in years, but I recall it as being boring, not rough. Here's my top ten: 1. Balder (Liseberg) 2. El Toro (SFGAd) 3. Colossos (Heide Park) 4. My Favorite Steel (Expedition GeForce, Holiday Park) 5. Viper (SFGAm) 6. Raven (Holiday World) 7. Phoenix (Knoebel's) 8. Avalanche (Timber Falls) 9. Thunderhead (Dollywood) 10. Troy (Toverland) And my not-so-illustrious bottom five: 86. Hades (Mount Olympus) 87. GhostRider (Knott's Berry Farm) 88. Son of Beast (SBNO, Kings Island) 89. The Bandit (Movie Park) 90. Anaconda (Walygator Parc) I don't think any ride could possibly take the last spot from Anaconda (or the second-to-last from Bandit).
  3. While there's no way I'd pay $12.95 for their cheeseburgers, I'd definitely like to check out Jaxson's ice cream. Their sundaes look great.
  4. ^Er, there's a bit more to the Fantasyland upgrade than "meet and greets." Perhaps you should go back and read this: http://themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=988298#p988298.
  5. ^^^I think Al Davis looks more like the Crypt Keeper. "Ready for something really scary, kiddies--like the Raider's home opener?"
  6. We already have a topic on this project: http://themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=279449#p279449. You might find some extra into there.
  7. I'm all signed up. I'm particularly looking forward to the log ride tour at Knott's.
  8. I love how the designer worked in the Log Ride and Colossus--I'll definitely buy one.
  9. ^More like the "very-low-budget" concept.
  10. How do you know we aren't aliens? He knows TPR's dark secret! He must be absorbed! The new Park Index is going to take TPR to another level--I'm really looking forward to it.
  11. The only sensation I felt on the one in Helsinki was "irritation." I hope it isn't one of these, either--unless it's been drastically improved. I like the idea for the coaster, though, as long as it improves on Snow White's Scary Adventures.
  12. When they announced the movie version of The Road, I wondered how they were going to make a movie out of such a bleak novel (and a very good one). I think they captured Cormac McCarthy's story pretty well; that is, I think it's one of the more "realistic" apocalypse movies. It's not so much about the end of days as it is about a boy's relationship with his father. If you want to see a really bizarre take on the "end of the world," check out Six-String Samurai. Call it "rockabilly/heavy-metal apocalypse."
  13. I remember Auto Correct suggesting that I use "orgiastic" as a substitute for some word I was using a few years ago. The two words were not synonyms.
  14. There's some info on using public transportation to get to Great Adventure in this thread: http://themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=881767#p881767.
  15. ^I don't think he was trying to put Soap Box Racers down, although he did take a well-deserved swipe at the awful Windjammer. (I wish that Knott's had kept the Racers, even though I like Xcelerator.)
  16. At this point, it doesn't matter what she says. CF wants the Dipper gone by this summer, right? I wonder who's going to get stuck with the demolition bill?
  17. ^Hey--whaddaya got against giant snowmen and adorable puppies? I see what you mean.
  18. ^With the state of our "news" media today, the failure to fact check is hardly surprising.
  19. Based on what I've seen written at the Geauga Lake forum, they probably think Kinzel is actually this man . . . Simon Barsinister! Arch enemy of Underdog!
  20. I think I'm one of the few who thinks that Gwazi is OK, and I think the Flyers will be great improvement. I remember hearing bad things about Hershey's Wildcat with its old trains. Never experienced those, but I thought it was a great ride with the Milennium Flyers.
  21. I voted for option 2, because I prefer the yellow outline to the white. It makes sense for the site's and the video's logos to match up, and I think the new tagline is perfect.
  22. I see you picked up a copy of Machete--I approve!
  23. Coaster Expedition 14 is excellent; hell, even my presence in a few scenes does nothing to hurt it! Great parks, great footage, great song choices--what's not to like? The Schlossbeck/"Tarzan" video might be the funniest segment TPR has ever produced. Get it--you won't be disappointed.
  24. Same thing happened to me on Hurler last season on the lifthill. I just pulled the bar down, and it ratcheted back into place.
  25. ^Actually, I think she's finally getting a little smart.
