  1. Those last three are on the bottom of my indoor-coaster list, too. But I do have an odd fondness for X: No Way Out. Perhaps it's the ride's utter pointlessness that I find so amusing.
  2. While I can see the city's point that a new rec center with a pool for lap swimming, and I presume swim meets, could be a good thing, the lazy river and water-play area would be "luxuries"--not necessary.
  3. ^Too bad there aren't any Waffle Houses in California, Joey--you could've tanked up with a couple of breakfasts there.
  4. Did the Pope bless the group? (Hey, Robb did lick his pole, and all.)
  5. Overheard from the mouth of a young boy while exiting I305 at Kings Dominion: "I like this ride, but it makes your eyes go funny!" I reckon he grayed out.
  6. This is the first video I've seen of the Wild Africa Trek--looks like fun (particularly the suspension bridge over the crocs).
  7. That's pretty cool. I wonder how long it took to design and build that thing?
  8. You mean like Uncle Pennybags? I've never been to Kentucky Kingdom in any of its previous incarnations, so I have no opinion on the park's quality (or lack thereof). Wouldn't have minded riding Deluge, though.
  9. ^Yes, a closed Superman would be a victory for Lex Luthor.
  10. It's French credit whoring--Italian style!
  11. Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha No, wait. Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha I second Larry's comment. But to each his or her own.
  12. There are deer all over that park. Nah, deer can't get to Mach Tower. Commando squirrels, on the other hand . . .
  13. I waited 3 1/2 hours for DarKastle at BGW on its opening day, and swore I'd never hit a big new attraction on its first day ever again. I can understand out-of-town and out-of-state visitors enduring this, especially if they aren't going to be at DL again for a few years. But if I were a local passholder, I'd definitely wait a few extra weeks.
  14. Revenge of the Mummy is totally enclosed--and Universal Florida's version is still the best of the bunch. The "dark ride" stuff is well done, and there's some nice airtime during the second half of the ride.
  15. Wow--they sure crammed a lot of stunts into that dark ride. Zombie Nun rules!
  16. Sometimes it's best to just cut your losses. The Kochs have been very successful with Holiday World--why take on a risky endeavor like the old Kentucky Kingdom park?
  17. ^Go Ape's office is bascially just a single-wide trailer with an air conditioner. You can see some of the ziplines and obstacles from the park's walking and biking trails (some of which pass under them).
  18. ^I agree that Drop Zone is a better ride. The best feature of Mach Tower is the rotation on the way up (esp. during Christmas Town). As for the "vibrating seat" gimmick, I think it's better without it (makes the drop more of a surprise). No idea what's been wrong with Mach Tower this week. It was running OK last weekend.
  19. They just opened on in Freedom Park in James City County, Va., about two miles from my house (Go Ape). I imagine the "overhead" is pretty low.
  20. Verbolten with Jack Crouse last night.
  21. True, but if they can find some space for it in Tokyo Disneyland, it could work. Maybe. But they could put "Newsies Land" in Tokyo DisneySea. Robb would be all over that! I'm looking forward to checking out Carsland, but I doubt I'll get there this year.
  22. Love the theming and food at Europa--no matter where you turn, the place looks incredible.
  23. ^One deer. Two deer. One dear. Two dears.
  24. ^Hmm--replicating Carsland at Tokyo Disney would be interesting, because one of the segments of Cars II takes place in Tokyo. (Could be a good retheme for the Racers ride--but that's getting way ahead of ourselves.)
