  1. It's always the "end of the world" when any ride is removed--at least for some people.
  2. ^I would recommend Volcano first. Dominator's line tends to be longer earlier in the day as it's the first ride everybody sees upon entering the park, but it tends to thin out later. Once Volcano's line becomes slammed, that's it.
  3. I never thought Viper was a bad ride; it's the best of those old Arrow multi-loopers. I'm not saying it's a "great" ride, but at least it's not painful.
  4. Nitro--Six Flags Great Adventure
  5. ^They refer to it as a "comfort collar." From a safety standpoint, it's pretty useless; it's just there to make riders "feel" more secure (the lap and shin bars are all you really need).
  6. The side-by-side perspective is very interesting--not to mention disorienting. Great video.
  7. Six Flags Great America
  8. I would classify that as an "unpleasant" surprise.
  9. ^All I remember about riding the original version of Drachen Fire was two very bruised shoulders, a throbbing headache, and a queasy stomach.
  10. Now that's an impressive piece of jury rigging. Rye has (had?) an excellent Whip ride. Knoebels' whip actually stutters a little in the turns. Dorney, perhaps?
  11. Disneyland Paris
  12. ^Everything about Phantom's Revenge is a big surprise. What a great ride!
  13. Rumors about potential uses for that spot have been flying around for years--for example, adding a "Spain" section to the park, along with a new train station. But nothing has ever been confirmed.
  14. I was there last Friday, and it's just a photo op for an Instagram or Facebook contest, as near as I can tell.
  15. ^As much as I like Jarlsberg Cheese, I probably would've become pretty sick pretty soon while eating a block of it.
  16. Yep--I'm not a fan of B&M Flyers in general, but that ride is very good.
  17. 1. This was the first thing that came to mind. My first ride was in the back row on a wing seat. It's a double dose of ejector air. You get the initial cresting ejector, and then right at the end the drop wrenches you out of your seat so forcefully, that I thought I was going to die by getting catapulted into a tree or into a rock. It was amazing. I think Skyrush is great and truly terrifying.
  18. Well, not all trim brakes are bad--but I agree about Raging Bull.
