  4. X in the morning was only a 3 train wait for the front. At the end of the day Joe and I rode twice with less than a five minute wait each time, they had 2 trains running!. Actually all the coasters were walk on. Sometimes only 25% full! When I visit in the future, I will definitely come back this time of year, after Easter/Spring Break and before Memorial Day, the park was empty! --Eric J

  8. Hi everyone, On Sunday, April 23rd, My partner Kevin, my friend Cristina and I checked out the International Flower and Garden Festival at Epcot. We had a great day. Cristina had not been to Epcot since 1994, so we got to experience the new thrills with her, Mission Space, Soarin' & Test Track. It was a very relaxing day. We had a great lunch at the Nine Dragons restaurant in China. I looked for Soren' in Germany, but we must have missed each other. Maybe next time we will get to meet. Here they are, enjoy! --Eric J On our way out after a great day! Cool panda topiary in China. The orchids were gorgeous. Cristina and Kevin in Mexico. Cristina and Kevin at Honey, I Shrunk The Audience. Kevin with a new friend. Kevin and I in front of the Butterfly Aviary. With Kevin and Cristina in one of the Garden exhibits. Cristina preparing for Mission Space. Thought this was interesting to mention: we walked onto Mission Space while next door there was a 50 minute wait for Test Track. I guess recent events are effecting Mission's populatrity. Cristina and I in front of one of the cool topiaries. Kevin and Cristina in front of Spaceship Earth.
  9. I thought it spun a lot. This was the only twister type coaster that I have been one, so I have nothing to compare it to. Maybe someone out there that has been on the MOA coaster and another twister could compare?
  10. On my way back from my trip to Magic Mountain, I had a 3 hour lay-over in Minneapolis, so thanks to the advice of Joe (Parktrips) I took the light rail from the airport and was at the Mall of America in 10 minutes! I was only there for an hour and a half but I got the 2 credits in and the Ghost Blasters dark ride in. I really loved the Ripsaw Roller Coaster. The Timber Twister was fun too, a little rough. I wanted to do the flume but wasn't sure how wet you get, so I decided not to do it. Someday I will have to come back and spend more time! --Eric J.
  11. More Photos: That concludes my SFMM trip update. I had a great time, I'm sure all of you going to the Tatsu Camp Out will have a blast! Have fun! At the super-secret-underground Theme Park Review Headquarters control center with Robb and Joe. Elissa met up with us for dinner at In & Out Burger. Tatsu- I will conquer you in the future! Colossus was a lot of fun! I am actually on the Wally World Coaster! Racing Joe! Jet Stream and Ninja. And here's Joe. Here I am. Cool float. I have been told this parade at SFMM is a big deal.
  12. Even more photos: Scream! was fun, but my favorite floorless is Kraken at Sea World Orlando. Ridler's Revenge, my new favorite stand up. Superman was fun. We only had to wait 2 trains for the front row. The things that Robb goes through to get the TPR reports! I think Robb likes Goliath too. My other favorite coaster in the park, Goliath!
  13. More Photos: X, you were great! I love you X! Right before getting my X-cherry popped! Isn't X beautiful! Little did I know what was in store for me! One of my new favorite coasters-X!
  14. Hi guys! Here are my first set of trip pics from SFMM. On my way home I had a lay over in Minneapolis so I went to the Mall of America and got the two credits. Enjoy! -Eric J (the other eric johnson) A rain-soaked entrance plaza and Viper. I met some new friends. I can't believe I am at Wally World! Once I arrived to LAX, I headed straight for SFMM. It took about 45 minutes around 3:00 pm Not bad for a rental!
  15. Hi everyone- As you can tell from the pictures we had a great time. I have waited so long to go to Magic Mountain, and it was well worth it! X- what can I say? I did not know what side was up! Goliath - I think we rode about 5 times and ties with X as my fav coaster at the park. We were lucky, the park was really empty and we got to ride everything a bunch of times. We even went on both flumes and a lot of the flats! I haven't been on a round up (Gear Works) since I was a kid! A lot of fun! Robb & Joe, it was fun hanging out with you guys today. Joe, it was nice to meet you and hope you made it back to Atlanta safely. Hopefully we will get to hang out at SFOG in the near future. Elissa, thanks for joining us on Batman and at In & Out Burger for dinner. Hope your class tonight was fun & interesting. When I return to Florida tomorrow I will post some of my pictures too. Till then, X & Goliath rule! -Eric J (the other eric johnson)

  19. Soren, where in the Germany pavillion at Epcot do you work? My friends and I are going to be at Epcot on Sunday, maybe we will stop by and say hello. -Eric J.
  20. ^^ about an hour and a half to 2 hour drive from WDW.
  21. Soren- Looks like you had a good time. You were only about 15 minutes from where I live! I live near Redington Shores / Indian Rocks Beach which is south of Clearwater Beach. Did you stay for the nightly Sunset festival at Pier 60? Usually the sunset festival is pretty nice, especially if you have never been to Clearwater Beach. Glad you had a good time. --Eric J
  22. Both are fun. But if you want quality over quanity then definitely Busch Gardens Europe. --Eric J
  23. I went to Cedar Point in 2003 a week after Top Thrill Dragster opened. My friend and I went there for 2 days. Because we went in May the park was pretty empty. The longest lines we waited for was for Top Thrill Dragster & Millennium Force. All the other rides were walk on's or less than a 15 minute wait. Here are my ratings for the attractions we experienced: Wicked Twister (Inverted Launch Shuttle) Grade: A This was the first ride we hit. It was a lot of fun. Very fast and being next to the lake was very cool. Disaster Transport (Indoor Bobsled) Grade: C I love indoor coasters/ dark rides, so I was looking forward to this. You can buy 3-D glasses in the line to wear on the ride. The ride was fun but seemed outdated. The 3-D glasses didn't really work. Because there was no line we rode it a couple of times. Magnum XL200 (Steel Hyper Coaster) Grade: B+ I had always wanted to ride this coaster since it opened. I think I would have given it an A but when I rode I had a headache, so the coaster felt rough to me. Stlii a great ride though. Power Tower (Drop/Launch Tower) Grade: B Tried both the drop & launch, fun but it is the same ride at many other parks. Corkscrew (Steel double looper) Grade: C Standard corkscrew coaster. Neat because one of the older coasters in the park. Like all corkscrew coasters a little bit too rough for me. Top Thrill Dragster (Giga Launch) Grade: A Again, when I went, this coaster had just opened a week before. So it was down a lot of the time. Finally we got to ride it. It was very nerve racking waiting to launch. When we did take off it was an amazing experience of climing & climbing till we hit the top hat section. Pretty intense. My face felt like it was being sucked off by the forces! Loved the ride but very short. Gemini (Duel Racing Steel) Grade: B I have heard a lot of people say they don't like this coaster. I loved it. It was so smooth and fun! Mean Streak (Wooden) Grade: A Another coaster that I have heard people say is too rough and not fun. I actully enjoyed Mean Streak a lot. Cedar Creek Mine Ride (Steel Mine Train) Grade: B A family and older ride. I thought this ride was pretty decent for a runaway train ride. I enjoyed it a lot. Mantis (Stand Up Steel) Grade: B- I am not a giant fan of stand-up coasters. I find them to be very uncomfortable. I have riden as of right now, only 2 other standup coasters: Shockwave at Kings Dominion & Georgia Scorcher at Six Flags Over Georgia. I thaught out of all of them Mantis was my favorite stand up coaster. That might change because I am planning on going to Six Flags Magic Mountain next week for the first time, so Ridler's Revenge might change my mind and become my favorite. Millennium Force (Mega Steel) Grade: A+ What can I say? This has become my favorite coaster of all time! I got to ride about 4 times, once in the front. This was so amazing! The ride itself was smooth as glass. In my opinion, best coaster in the park and for me, the world! Iron Dragon (Steel Suspending) Grade: B Fun going over the water and swinging through the trees. Kind of rough, but fun. Wild Cat (Compact Steel) Grade: C+ I hadn't been on a coaster like this for a long time. I used to go on a compact coaster like this at my childhood park, Canobie Lake Park in New Hampshire. Rough, but that's what you expect on this type of coaster. Raptor (Steel Inverted) Grade: B- Fun ride, not a short as the Batman Rides everywhere. But I personally l love Montu at my home park: Busch Gardens Africa. Blue Streak (Out & Back Wooden) Grade: B Fun out and back woodie. Lots of history, being one of the oldest coaters in the park. So I had a fantastic time at Cedar Point. It had been a dream come true since I was young. I am sure you are going to have a blast! If you can try to go for 2 days so you can enjoy the whole park without being rushed. --Eric J
