  1. People take things WAY too seriously in this community. When Robb goes off on us for beating a dead horse, or posting something stupid (I've done it), I just laugh because it reminds me of when my dad use to cuss at us for making too much noise. lol I DO NOT take it personally. People are just so sensitive about everything, and so thin skinned. When did we become a nation of such whiners anyway?
  2. ^ Damn, you probably won't re-add me. I completely understand though, and I'm doing something similar with my page.
  3. Another Superman "urban legend" in the making?
  4. ^ Hahaha...This "family" coaster will probably have more airtime than any other ride in California.
  5. For an additional $30 a month of course...
  6. And that would fit WHERE? Hey there's a S&S upcharge that may be coming out soon...
  7. Yeah, everyone else who added one has already removed it. It's not like it was a good ride anyway. ***Crosses fingers for a giant frisbee***
  8. ^ Nope. I heard somewhere that Thrillshot is coming out as soon as the budget allows? Seems like the perfect spot for that drop tower everyone seems to want so bad.
  9. ^ I'm thinking if people go to GL first thing, they'll have a better shot at a couple of rides. The lemmings are still going to run to X2, Viper and Tatsu. I'm also hoping for an entertaining, interactive queue for GL, because mid day lines are going to be outrageous. Otherwise, thank God we live in the era of the q-bot and smartphone!
  10. ^ Yes. It's got that shared experience thing that reminds me of the Intamin first -gen Freefalls.
  11. ^ Now you're just being silly. You haven't even ridden a Windseeker yet, so how do you know it's boring? Secondly, we've already established that Cedar Fair isn't going to drop $25 million dollars into a park like CGA, so stop dreaming. Heck, they're not even putting that much into Cedar Point right now.
  12. Why not a compact coaster AND a Windseeker? Something tells me people wouldn't object so much then... lol
  13. It's probably better if we keep our expectations very low when it comes to CGA. Just don't expect anything, that way you won't be let down.
  14. As is evident down the road at Knotts, a coaster can fit in almost anywhere with some creativity, especially at the hands of Cedar Fair. Also keep in mind that just because the removal of Invertigo will free up that space, doesn't mean the coaster (in question) has to start or even end in that spot.
  15. Yay...Intamin track at SFMM. Never thought I would say those words again! I hope I'm able to say that more and more over the next decade!
  16. ^ Weird people keep saying this. The proposed layout for the CGA woodie was a complete different design than Prowler turned out to be. But, maybe it was changed to fit another landscape.
  17. The question remains. Can a major theme park and state of the art football stadium co-exist so close to each other, and is Cedar Fair willing to hang around long enough to find out?
  18. ^ Yep. You could actually build a lift hill or launch pad right into Tidal Wave's line if you get creative enough. Only question would be, what would be permissable after that point?
  19. Nothing short of a compact coaster will be accepted after the removal of three in a row. I'm sure it isn't lost on the park how rough removing three coasters can do for a park's image. So I'd be really surprised if they don't add one in 2012 (that is, if they have any intention of actually investing any further in this park). If we're talking compact, a Zacspin would work well there. Capacity issues aside, it's unique enough to attract attention. Otherwise, that area would be a great place for a station and queue, provided they can get clearance to build up and over other attractions. But I guess I'm getting way ahead of myself.
  20. From my visits to several SF parks in 2010, there just weren't that many people using them. It even got to the point where people were just stashing their stuff(sippy cups, stuffed animals) off the ride and taking the chance it would be there when they got back, or making a mid-day trip out to the car. I have a feeling most parks will ditch them soon as they just don't work.
  21. I hope you don't think I am bashing the park or whining as you call it, because nothing could be further from the truth. I was just pointing out the irony that people suddenly shift from bashing a park to being all "sad" when the rumors about it closing start. To me it makes perfect sense to remove this ride at this point. It's caused them nothing but headaches and they probably don't have the funds to maintain it any longer. Also with rumors of a new ride going into SFDK next year, the park has to find a way to add a new ride. The only option at this point is to remove something, and Invertigo was the no -brainer.
  22. http://www.latimes.com/travel/deals/themeparks/la-trb-great-america-coaster-01201128,1,2322443.story "Great America is preparing to submit a proposal to city planners in the next few months for a 2012 attraction on the Invertigo site, park officials said". Just thought I'd throw that out there. Sorry if it's already been posted.
  23. "Yes it's been 9 years since we got a big/adult/kewl/grab-the-hand-cream-I'm-In-Love coaster, but SFGAm apparently continues to be among the top earning Six Flags parks in the chain - they are obviously doing something right, and they know a heck of a lot more about running a park than you (or I, or anyone on TPR) do". And easily tied as the best park in the chain (along with SFOT)...I might add!
  24. Pointless and old? Those are some of the exact words people were using towards this park, until the writing began appearing on the wall. It's always sad when you watch a park begin to fold, but this is the same park that a year ago people were bashing up and down the block. I really hope the park survives and thrives again one day. But it's not like people have really appreciated it in a long, long time.
