Weird Roller Coaster Dreams
Astrojack replied to alpengeistdude321's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Most of my coaster dreams are weird, it's like I can't ride them properly. Going up the lift hill I become transparent and slide back a few sets, then usually have to walk the train up the lift hill. I can't go around loops, I'll reach the loop and the train travels around the loop while I stay stationary and continue with the ride once it pulls out of the loop. There are times I can ride them without any issues and even get excited when I make it around the loop -
Kennywood's Laser Loop. It was in the summer of 1990 and I was going into 1st grade in the fall. My mom talked me into riding it since it was the last summer before they tore it down for the Steel Phantom. The launch scared me to death. My mom said I got off the ride looking white as a ghost. She asked if I wanted to ride it again and I said no lol

Amusement Ride Breakdown!

My friend and I were getting on Shockwave at Kings Dominion. I finished buckling my seat belt when I looked over and my friend was holding the female connector of the belt. It came off of the strap. The operator looked a bit confused and told him he could ride near the front since there's a single rider up there. Once he got buckled in near the front, the operators were talking about what they should do. A few minutes later we all got off the ride and they said the ride will be down. I felt bad for the train sitting on the brakes since it was really hot out that day. We heard it would be a 20 minute delay so we left the line to ride something else. Luckily there was no wait for shockwave when that happened -

I always thought an easy fix for i305 would be to put a tunnel over the first turn. This way people wouldn't know if they are greying/blacking out Will be interesting to see the final outcome to this project. I just expect an inclined turn up to the the 2nd hill to decrease the g's. -
First time I have ever checked the random forums and saw this poll. Guess I'm number 335

I was at the park on Monday, and my friend ended up breaking Shockwave for awhile. He was trying to extend his seat belt but it was bunched and the male part detached from the strap. They shut down the ride while they replaced the seat belt. Sorry if anyone was stuck on the brake run around 7pm -

I can understand them restricting row 4, but I hope they don't enforce row 6. Seems like a kiddie coaster when you see those signs. -

I don't think it could hit your knees. If anything, someone in row 3 with their hands up might beable to smack you in the face lol. Edit: Just looked at the pic again, looks like it can hit your knees. -

I'm 6'3 and sat in rows 1, 4, and 6. I sat in row 4 during the commerical shoot. I'll have to try and sit in row 4 next time I'm out there. Only thing I noticed while sitting in row 4 on the left side, was how close the headrests from row 3 actually come to you. There's a picture from postgazette that shows this. That's the only reason I can see them limiting row 4 since I had no problems with the restraints. http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/images/201006/ds_mag_sky_rocket_2_0623_500.jpg -

I heard the sound while on the ride, but it's pretty faint from the wind and the screams. -

I know what your talking about, almost sounds like a bottle rocket or something. But I was told it's just the LSM's. -

I'll post my Sky Rocket review from another site. I got to ride it during the commercial shoot Wednesday. Got to ride Sky Rocket 5 times in a row right before the storm hit. Was in row 4 and I'm really impressed with this ride. I'm 6'3 and was a bit nervous when i saw the seats up close, had a bit trouble getting in first since the bars are close to the seats, but manged to wiggle my way to the outside seat. Once seated it was very comfortable and I really like the lap bars Also a huge plus there are no seat belts to slow the loading. You pick up a good amount of speed right before the launch. The launch is very quiet and fairly forceful. The top hat produces some great airtime going over the top right before the cliff hanger. This actually caught me off guard and knew I was in for an awesome ride. The cliff hanger element was pretty cool, was neat seeing the car hang down the hill before letting you go. The first inversion was fun, I was surprised how the first cars last row headrest looked like it was going to hit me. Anyone who sits on the left side of row 4 will know what I'm talking about. The barrel roll was my favorite element. Was very quick and it felt like it was going to throw you from the train. The 2nd hill produced some good airtime and I was out of my seat during the corkscrew. Felt weird getting airtime around that. Rest of the ride wasn't to impressive to write about, but was still fun. As for the positive G's they didn't seem forceful. Going up the first hill felt like it pulled some decent G's, but the duration is so short it shouldn't cause any issues. This the smoothest ride I have ever been on. Can't wait to drag my parents on since they have refused to ride a coaster that goes upside down because of the Steel Phantom.
