Newport Pleasure Gardens [RCT3]

Ace: Waterfall is done now - hope you like it, because I think I'm going to keep it. At least for a while. I was debating with myself over the queue covers as well, and now that I've added them I think it looks better. See both below. There will be no cheating, I promise I have high hopes for this park. Popcorn54: Thanks. Check out the completed waterfall below, maybe you'll like it better. tiger01: I've had similar thoughts but those types of things will be added over time. Maybe I'll add a marina in a few park years. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1977 Hello! We've been very busy on-site lately, but I haven't been able to update you lately because the park execs are getting touchy about what I reveal. I've been negotiating with them, and this is all they'll let me show for now. Don't worry, I'll keep showing pictures as often as possible. Lots of progress has been made. High Street has been finished, and the landscaping around our waterfall has been completed as well. More rides will be installed soon, I'm told. Check it all out below. -Janet Rohrs The completed waterfall looks nice from here. The new yellow building houses the All-American Eatery, serving traditional American fare: burgers and fries. This queue cover has been added to the carousel to provide shade for guests as they wait in line. -

I had that problem with Shyguy's Main Street sets a while back. What worked for me was just to remove it from Style/Themed, redownload the set altogether, and then just try re-extracting it to Style/Themed. -

^Thanks! ***Note: These shots are very WIP. I haven't had much time to work on the park lately. Please comment! ------------ 1977 Hello! I hope all of you had a great holiday season! I know I enjoyed the break, but I'm happy to be back to work on this exciting project! We had a few warm days last week, so we took advantage of them. Our first ride has been successfully installed, the High Street Carousel. We hope to be open by spring of next year, so hopefully work will start going into overdrive mode! Take a look below -Janet Rohrs Ooooh, these planters look nice. But what's that at the end of High Street? The High Street Carousel is now in place. A man-made pond and waterfall has gone into place behind it, but rock-work and other landscaping isn't done yet. High Street really looks nice from this angle. Expect to see more progress soon! -

^^Thanks! ^I'll try to get a shot like that soon, haven't been in the park in a few days. Glad you like it! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1976 Hello friends, This will probably the last update this year, as most of our work will stop for the holidays. Expect to see very fast progress once work resumes! -Janet Rohrs We added signs to our street lamps recently - they look good! This new eatery was recently finished - we're calling it "Corner Café" The Corner Café will serve hot coffee and fresh-baked pastries to our guests. -

^^Thanks! ^Really? Thank you so much! ----------------------------------- 1976 Hello, Another project has been completed, take a look below. Work will be going a little slower as winter starts to set in. -Janet Rohrs We've finished our biggest project so far - our Grand Theatre. We've got plenty of ground-level seating for our patrons. You can also watch the show from above, as we also have a large upper level. -

^Thanks! --------------- 1976 Hello, More work on the park - take a look below. It's getting colder here now that fall is setting in. -Janet Rohrs This new eatery has gone up - it's going to be an Ice Cream Shop. The inside of the shop has been furnished with a few tables and vintage ice cream advertisements on the walls. -

^Good idea! If I can do it, I will! ------------------------------------------ 1976 Hello, Work is still progressing. Turnstiles have been installed and a picnic shelter has been put up as well. We've got a new shop going up on High Street, rumor has it that it's going to be some type of eatery. We'll have to wait and see! -Janet Rohrs Turnstiles have been installed in the Main Entrance. The picnic shelter was built with families in mind! -

^Thanks! ------------ 1976 Hello, Its been a few weeks since my last update. Since then, the High Street Train Station has been completed. Turnstiles for the Main Entrance will be installed next week. Take a look below. -Janet Rohrs Here's the exterior of the HSTS looking towards the entrance. Here's a better head-on view of the HSTS. [Note: There are dormers in the empty spots on the roof, they just don't show up because I zoomed out a bit] Here's the interior of HSTS. Queue railings have been installed, so you can get a general idea of where the queue is. -

1976 Hello, We've been doing a lot of land clearing on the site. Our main entrance gate is now finished and "High Street" is coming up fast! Check out the pictures below. -Janet Rohrs The entrance has a bit more modern/industrial feel to it, but High Street will feature more traditional architecture. The facade for the High Street Train Station is up, but the building isn't done yet. -

Bad news: RCT3 keeps crashing on me. I get a crash dump almost every time I try to get on. Now it won't let me even get into the park, saying that Soaked! isn't installed, but it is. I'm able to get on other parks that use Soaked!, so what's up? Any idea how I can fix this? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1976 Hello again, Construction has begun! It's been a few weeks and we've been working on the parking lot recently. I got a few shots of the work today. Take a look below. -Janet Rohrs Here's the parking lot. The park entrance will eventually be about where I was standing to take this picture. -

Ok, practically every time I get on RCT3 now it does a crash dump. I mean, it's happened before every so often, but now it happens almost every time. I really need to keep working on my park, but this is just getting worse. Anyone know what I can do to try to stop this? I'm on a Windows 7 partition of a MacBook Pro. I'm sure it would probably work better on a full Windows computer, but my family is all Mac... EDIT: Now its saying that Soaked! isn't installed, so it won't even let me on my game. Really getting fed up here! -

I agree that his parks are excellent, but that is beside the point. My parks have been updated consistently too. Not being mouthy by any means, I hope it doesn't come off like that. I'm only defending my posts. I have more pictures coming tonight. -

Those are from Old Spice's Tree Extension Set, but beware: they create AWFUL lag. I tried them because I've heard good things about them, but the lag was so bad that I had to delete all of them. EDIT: mcjaco, What about CD5's first post on Six Flags South Carolina? Just saying, more is coming tonight... -

^Thanks everyone! 1976 Hello, Today I took Ms. Lemon on a tour of the site. It looks like she is officially on board as the Finance Director. Now that we have someone to manage the money, construction can start soon. Here's a picture I took today of the site. I'll be back soon as more goes on! -Janet Rohrs -
