Hey man, I know what you mean, Arkansas's schools...well...for the most part, suck. I say take the scholarship and use it for your undergrad then go out of state for your graduate work.

Nah, unless you have some phobia of Italian barbers. Nothing jumps out or scares you, it's just two guys explaining the technology and demonstrating its potential using the sounds of clippers, buzzers, etc. It's realistic enough to make one mildly squirm, but it definately won't scare you "poopless". -

Eek, that brought a chill up my spine. The whisper at the end literally made me jump, and I knocked over the speakers with which my headphones were connected. -
Wow, I called this one back in '98! Too bad I don't have a DS, but you have inspired me to dust of my Gameboy Color and Pokemon Blue Version. I haven't played a video game for about a year now and I haven't played Pokemon since I was probably eight.

"An eye for an eye leaves everyone blind" - Martin Luther King Jr. Just saying...not that he wouldn't have deserved punishment, but wishing that someone is "suffering a fate worse than death" is a terrible thing to think, IMO. But, as with Corkscrewed, I don't wish to derail this topic. My thoughts go out to the families and I hope they can continue on as best they can.

Is it crazy for me to think Rachel Ray looks like the Joker? That's all I can ever think of whilst watching her cooking shows on lazy sunday afternoons.

Hey, I'm only here because it's cheaper than a movie, and there's free coffee.

I'm not stereotyping, because this stuff actually happens! I do know there are nice ones, it's just that the ones I know piss me off Am I missing something? Because I'm on the verge of crying hypocrite. You say you don't stereotype the gay community, yet adding a commitment ceremony makes you rally to Six Flags all because of some neighbors that piss you off? Hey, that first post was just my mouth talking, not my mind Okay, that's fine then. Just try to be careful with what you say in a public forum.

I really dislike science when it is forced on me through the school curriculum, but I find it endlessly fascinating when I can study it at my own leisure (thru books like A Short History of Nearly Everything, etc.) With math, it takes me a bit longer to grasp all the theorems and postulates (I'm currently taking Geometry) which often puts me behind the rest of the class, but when I've got it, I've got it. This usually leaves me with a B or C average.

And when exactly was this song performed by someone talented? It wasn't, he was just making the point to me that it would take someone talented to make a crappy song like this decent.
-
Yes, that might be. But that's not my point. Take a crappy song, and give it to a crappy singer and it's still going to be bad. But if you take a crappy song and give it to someone talented, then they can sometimes make a decent song out of it. What we have here is a failure to communicate. I'm sorry if I didn't make it clear, but I wasn't saying that the song was pleasant to listen to, I was saying that it worked well in getting the point across that most popular music is shallow. I agree Alanis is not the best musician in the world, I loved the song because of what she was saying with it.
-
You giver her way too much credit. There's no beats or "catchiness factor" because Alanis's music never has beats or "catchiness factor". All you said was that she took a successful song, took out what made it succesful, and what you have left is a peice of crap. Yes, and showing that the song was basically a piece of crap in the first place. I don't think I gave her too much credit, she was commenting on how popular/successful songs seem to only rely on said beats and "catchiness factor." I wasn't giving her singing abilies any credit.
-
I, for one, loved it! She's not trying to make a radio hit, she's parodying mindless songs like 'My Humps' by eliminating the beats and "catchiness factor" and thus exposing it to be simply a terrible song. It's sarcasm people! If you actually wait till the end you'll hear them laughing.

I think it's a legitimate question, have you forgotten about your own herd?

I really need to check out that Bat coaster with the floorless inverted trains at the Wisconsin State Fair.
