  1. I also think yellow could look great. Also, I'm guessing this is an Incredible Hulk-type coaster? Because that launch tunnel is amazing!
  2. ^Is it bad that I laughed? Oh, and my friend said that "Apollo's Chariot is so stupid, it doesn't even go upside down!" ....ugh,
  3. ^They don't necessarily contradict each other, he only mentioned his group of friends which live there. Tourists, other locals new to the area, etc still make the park crowded. Plus I don't think his group of friends include the entire population.
  4. That's what I was going to suggest. Since the game didn't animate the boat rising anymore than 45 degrees, it would look nearly perfect.
  5. July 1985 Wow... this past season has been crazy. Sorry to not write to you as often as I should, but my schedule is jam-packed ever since Yorktown Siege opened up. Opening day was the most crowded we have ever seen the park. Lines for Yorktown Siege got up to 2 hours long, while our 2 other coasters managed up to an hour. I was out and about the park with a clipboard receiving some feedback from the guests.... Half of them enjoyed the surprise headchopper effect of the dark tunnel in the finale of the ride the most... While the other half enjoyed the ride's first helix and airtime hills the most. I'm indifferent with both, but this element provided some of the best airtime I've ever received in its first half. But, the return trip home contains more gradual airtime.... All I know is, the ride just can't be beat at night. You can't even see the track in front of you! While the ride's first month went great, in May the ride's operating program had trouble with the three-train system, causing frequent downtime and many angry guests. This has continued all the way through July as we try to work things out. We apologize for any inconvenience this may bring. But if it's closed, you can still check out the rest of Colonial VA...and ride Jetstream, of course! I love how the trees have started to grow in! Come visit us soon! Adventure Springs is located off of Route 1, just 5 miles outside of Mount Vernon in Fort Belvoir. Joint tickets between Mount Vernon and Adventure Springs are available, season pass to Adventure Springs does not include unlimited visits to Mount Vernon. ---- So, what do you guys think? Should I keep this style of updating, or is there not enough interest in the park? I love to hear you're comments and opinion, it'as really the only thing that makes RCT2 worth it. -Braztaz
  6. Rebel Yell, after a quick visit to Kings Dominion.
  7. ^I rode Maverick in the front and had no problems with head/neckbanging. It might be the other seats, though. And the i305 restraints did more than just "help"... they completely solved any problem!
  8. I bought the pass at Cedar Point at the end of last season (not online) so I did not get a PDF...only a receipt and a form to fill out with my name address, phone, etc. The receipt has a bar code label on it, so I'm hoping that it will be sufficient enough to get me in the gates. I did't even know you could do that. They don't offer that at KD. Passes, renewals or otherwise, are not sold until after the first of the year. I ordered my Platinum Pass online in the beginning of December. Oh, and Hurler had long line? The only reason I ever ride that is to get a quick credit when I don't feel like waiting...
  9. I....I think I'm falling in love with this park...
  10. 1985 "Welcome... to Yorktown Siege. Yorktown Siege is a highly aggressive thrill ride with extended periods of positive and negative G-Forces, modeled to represent the troubles of an American soldier stealthy maneuvering through the dense forests of Colonial Virginia. Please keep arms and legs inside the ride vehicle at all times during your journey and hang on tight..." Those are the words riders hear as they climb 120ft into the air on the massive wooden structure brand new to Adventure Springs Mount Vernon for the 1985 season. Located in a new area themed to Colonial VA, Yorktown Siege drops riders 115ft down into the forests of Virginia at a 55 degree angle, one of the steepest drops in North America. Built by Philadelphia Toboggan Coasters, Inc., it will debut on the park's opening day; April 12, 1985. Roaring along over 4,000 feet of track, Yorktown Siege is sure to scare the living daylights out of even the craziest thrill junkies. Packed with high speed turns and airtime hills, you'll be left begging for more. Note from Braztaz- ignore the entrance/exit huts, they will be fixed! Colonial VA provides a whole different experience- enjoy the park's new Waveswinger, and a giant exhibit showcasing what it was like to be on a Colonial Farm. Be sure to make a visit to Adventure Springs Mt. Vernon, and see if you're brave enough to conquer Yorktown Siege! Adventure Springs is located off of Route 1, just 5 miles outside of Mount Vernon in Fort Belvoir. Joint tickets between Mount Vernon and Adventure Springs are available, season pass to Adventure Springs does not include unlimited visits to Mount Vernon. --- -Braztaz
  11. ^I suggested how using a wider variety of trees would improve the atmosphere, and he made the same reaction.
  12. So, Google Earth has 3D models of TTD, Magnum, and Raptor. It's pretty cool that they did this, I thin you need "3D Buildings" checked off to view them though...
  13. Well, we post things in the Preview thread for opinions, so... The colors are clashing and I think from an artistic standpoint, your painting is lacking. Also, proper capitalization is required for proper nouns or names, and I think the incorrect grammar takes away from the full experience. I just can't see myself in this painting like I can with the Mona Lisa.
  14. You say you post this all for us, but when we try to offer to suggestions or constructive critisism you just blow it off
  15. It also looks as if there's a lot of potential land behind S.O.B. If they took it out, they could fit a lot of expansion in the land it's standing on and all the land behind it. Also, Google Earth now has 3D models of the Eiffel Tower and Drop Tower. Pretty cool!
  16. Interesting read, I sure hope we hear something from the park in the near future. While I doubt they'd change it completely to an El Toro-type ride, they have a lot of freedom for modifications and I hope they figure something out soon...
  17. Get rid of that creepy dark ride, and I'll be happy.
  18. Derek, I'm loving the diver.
  19. My only complaint would be that you seem to use the same type of tree as your foliage. Mix it up a bit and it'll look great! Can't wait to hear that opening day report.
  20. That's my concern. I never want to see that happen on such high-quality Cedar Fair coasters. Cedar Fair's at least got better morals than Six Flags...
  21. Say, Robb, were you paying attention to what records your i305 video got? I'm sure it got plenty considering how popular it is! And the airtime looks completely insane on this ride. It'll probably be a few years until I ride it though...what a shame.
  22. I know quite a few people going tomorrow. But I'm wondering if it were crowded today, considering Thursday was so crowded...
  23. I think Tatsu was the last real "wow" B&M. Regarding the poll, I'd have to go with Intamin. They may not be as reliable, but they attract crowds and are insane, fun rides.
  24. On your Hyper-lite, I think the first turn is too tight and would make death happen. Also I'm not feeling the helix at the end...not sure why. But great park so far, I can't wait to see more of it.
