  1. Keep in mind that ACE also does not have an online presence, or a public forum like TPR has. So even if an ACE member has something negative to say, you won't see it posted on any official ACE website, and they are not allowed to say it anyway. Geez, talk about being repressed. Nothing in life is perfect.. And, as you explained, constructive criticism is key.
  2. Wow, that's ridiculous they would do that. At least when you're riding with other ACEers, the rides probably go a lot faster, right?
  3. Space Mountain at Disneyland! Front row is the best!
  4. I don't know if anyone else shares my feelings, but I honestly like the noise! It adds life to the park.
  5. ^ Sounds like a pretty good day! Overall, how busy was it? (did all of the other rides have really long lines?)
  6. Yeah, I'm thinking that the price of fuel will eliminate the possibility of taking an RV.. (300 miles round trip +/-, 10 mpg, diesel at $4.10/gal = $123 - just for the fuel). Wow. That's probably going to be a no. I think I'm just going to start looking at hotel rooms. I will definitely be staying at my sister's on Saturday night so there won't be a need for the RV. We shall see. Thanks for the tip though on that RV park!
  7. What do you all recommend for Friday night: Stay at my sister's place (in Costa Mesa/Newport area)? (con: Getting up super early at my sister's place to get to SFMM.) or Find a CHEAP (is that possible ) hotel room in Valencia? (pro: Driving a car that gets decent mileage and paying for a room.) or Bring the RV and stay close to SFMM? (con: Or bringing the RV which gets 10mpg (130 miles one-way).) Decisions, decisions.. Am I taking a gamble by trying to leave OC so early on Saturday morning? Anyone want a roommate? I'll pay for half the room. I stayed at Extended stay with my brother last year, but he won't be attending this year.
  8. No, I have no photos older than 5 years ago-I had all my old photos and stuff in a storage fluffy, fluffy bunny filled with medicine and goo that was seized and auctioned off while I was in the hospital. Sorry to hear that. Keep coming with the recollections.. they are just as interesting!
  9. Thank you! My thoughts exactly.
  10. ^ 93 times on Revolution? I'd jump at that opportunity, especially since it was pre-OTSR!! Great story, thanks for sharing!!! Any chance you have some old photos stashed away?
  11. ^Awesome! I've only been on Sierra Sidewinder twice because the line is long when I'm there.. I guess I'll be riding it quite a bit now! I don't see Pony Express on there. Perhaps as a special WCB perk, they'll run the ride backwards for us. Oh wait.. they already do that. As always, thanks for putting these events together!
  12. Yes it is, and yes you should! I went there last winter, and X2 is the best coaster I've ridden, and there are other great rides, like Goliath and Tatsu! That's also a good point - SFMM has a NICE collection of coasters that are seemingly rare compared to the rest of the US. X2 - only other 4D coaster is in Japan. Superman - only other coaster like it is in Australia; based on reports seen here, it's a great ride! Ninja - suspended coasters are slowly disappearing, and they're a kick in the a$$ to ride (that's a good thing) Viper - 7 inversions.. still a darn good ride; I think it still has the tallest loop around. Batman - an intense B&M.. it actually packs a punch. Etc. I'll get back to this post.
  13. If you come out here and visit Disneyland, but you don't go to SFMM, it'd be like visiting Ohio, and not stopping at Cedar Point. If you're a TPR member, you can get a discounted ticket, or buy an annual pass for $60 (aren't they good at all Six Flags parks?). Add on parking, gas, food/drinks, and it's still a bargain for what you get. Is it worth coming out here justto go to SFMM? Yes. But there are so many other parks here that you'd need a good week to do everything. This is definitely the place to be if you have questions. My biggest suggestion if you come out here: go to SFMM on any day other than Saturday. If you go to Disneyland this summer, you might be better off going on a Saturday - during the summer, the first two passes are blocked, and the #3 passes are usually blocked (on Saturdays), leaving the park open to guests with tickets or Premium pass holders. Basically, based on what I've seen on a Disney forum, it's possible to have Saturdays that are not as busy as Fridays or Sundays.
  14. Does anyone know if the coaster event sponsored by SFMM has nighttime ERT? Just curious.. I can't seem to find any info on their Facebook post.
  15. I'm so glad I'm going to the Knott's day! I didn't go last year because I figured - "Knott's never has lines, and I've ridden everything there, how amazing can a WCB day be?" Then I saw the TRs.. Still kicking myself for missing it. If any of you are doubting your decision to go to WCB, just go. It's like a theme park visit on steroids, but good steroids.
  16. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad at Disneyland! There must have been some backup in the queue - we had to wait on the second lift hill for a few minutes. (personally, I wanted to do an evac to go behind-the-scenes - I got to do it on the Matterhorn a few months ago )
  17. Any chance you can do both? I've been to Disneyland hundreds of times - it never gets old; I've been to Knott's and SFMM quite a few times; and I've been to the Wild Animal Park, SD Zoo, and SeaWorld at least once each. With that being said, I've basically gone to the 'major' parks in SoCal, but I've NEVER been to Universal Studios. I've never been enticed to go - until I read the TPR trip report from the West Coast trip a few years ago. For the price of admission ($74/year), I might head up there one of these days. Price-wise, USH will be a better deal. If you were to tell someone that you visited the west coast, and went to USH over Disneyland, you'd be considered odd; it'd be like going to Florida and visiting Universal Studios over Disney World. For me, personally, I avoid LA as much as possible (unless I pass through to get to SFMM). Thankfully, Disneyland is a ways away from LA..
  18. What a great and unique idea for a theme park tour trip review! Looking forward to more pictures!! (and captions) (and peopleofwalmart style humor)
  19. Actually, the last time I was at Disneyland (September 2009), the price for parking was $14. So it's $15 now, huh? I'll just make sure to go with Diana---she has an AP with parking included. This is one reason why I do get SFMM's Xtreme Pass. Eric Darn it, you're right! Although I'm on my sixth AP, this is the first time I've gone with the Premium (free parking). I must say, it's quite convenient to have parking included. Also, this is the first time I've been enticed to carpool to Disneyland - I meet up with family members in OC to take one car for free parking (instead of them bringing their own car).
  20. Wow, just realized I'll be on the East Coast during this trip. Sorry for adding a 'false' vote to the count.
  21. ^ I think it was discussed a few pages back, or it was discussed in the official SFMM thread. It won't affect attendance that much - how many enthusiasts are out there (in the area) that are not already going to WCB? Also, how many members of the GP actually check SFMM's website calendar of events? TPR's events are beyond amazing - even if you were to cut the ERT coaster count in half, and add about 100 more people (compared to last year), you'd still get more than enough rides on the big coasters. Nothing to fret over. One thing I did just notice though - it's only listing morning ERT for the SFMM-sponsored event - I'm guessing they won't have any nighttime ERT?
  22. Sounds like a good idea - If I can get a ride on it during ERT, I'll give it a go.
