  1. Wow, what a horrible tragedy.. This ride is very similar to the one at the San Diego fair each year.. right as you enter the rides section. Except the one at the fair is mounted to a semi trailer, and does a full 360 revolution...
  2. Was this in '08? (I think so.. Terminator was not built yet). Anyway, nice TR! And I really like your clean closet thread! Great pictures. I can't believe how packed MM looks in the pictures.. That just looks unbearably busy.. Perhaps because I only go on off days.
  3. ^^ Get to CA Adv before it opens. Once the park opens, head straight over to the Grizzly River Run fastpass distribution machines as they will be dispensing WOC tickets, with varying show times and locations. If I am ever at CA adv, I might watch it. Heck, I saw the entire Fantasmic for the first time this past summer.. and I have been going to Disneyland since I was born. I would much rather ride rides and take advantage of shorter lines.
  4. Since it is Memorial Day, and a lot of schools are already out for the summer, are there anymore amazingly empty weekdays remaining at SFMM?? Say, this Thursday? I would love to get one more day in before the summer crowds take over. Thanks in advance.
  5. ^^^ I think you can buy them tomorrow in-person. Anybody else going? I will be there tomorrow - at this point, I will be heading up by myself. Email/PM me if you would like to make some arrangements. chrisradcliffe@verizon.net
  6. I went around that time last year on a Sunday. X2 was over an hour, as was Tatsu. Terminator, since it was a new ride, was about 45-60 minutes. Riddler was a good half hour or more. It was 'busy', but manageable. We were able to ride all of the main rides.
  7. ^^I'm pretty sure there will be wristbands. Just like WCB, they close the park and make the 'regular guests' leave, while those with TPR lanyards were allowed access.
  8. Good to see some action in this thread.. it's been kind of slow lately. Is Ninja officially open? Or just randomly open on certain days? I would like to go Sunday and hope to ride it. Good to hear that X2's audio is working okay! That is a deal-breaker for me if it is not..
  9. Anybody else attending this event? Perhaps we can exchange contact information to meet up at the park.
  10. Wow.. FB replies are an excellent source of entertainment.. There is a constant redundancy with Six Flags fans on FB, and it revolves around the word 'free'... In response to the private party: -Can play pass holders like myself attend? -u'd think us season pass holders would also be allowed to stay till midnight!!!!!!!!!!!!! seriously cold!!! -Can i use my pass so i can stay till midnight? -season pass holders are considered... "THE PUBLIC''??? -thats cold -What if you are a Magic Mountain fan, but you also have a season pass. Would you still have to pay the 23 bucks?? I hope not, you guys are awesome! Hopefully awesome enough for that haha. Tell Kyanti I said hi too!!! Ok.. I'm ranting.. I guess I feel that the park is closed at 6pm; if you want to go 6 more hours, pay $23.. whether you have a pass or not. I am so used to Disney's prices, where a pass that is actually decent (summer/weekend visits) is about $300. It's sad.. $60 is such a bargain.. without any blackouts.. yet people still bitch about twenty bucks or so. /rant
  11. Alrighty, perfect timing for this thread. Xcelerator was NOT open today.. I got to the 'Independence Hall' parking lot at 8:30 AM for the Mustang show, and glanced over at it at least 50 times throughout the day... nothing! I managed to leave my car for an hour to catch 2 rides on Silver Bullet, and one on Ghostrider. On SB's lift, I could clearly see the blue/turquoise Xcelerator train parked outside of the station. In response to the SB crews.. today, someone was 'beatboxing', then later on, two other employees were talking about something not related to the park or the ride. I did hear one girl talk about the ride.. the length, number of drops, speed, etc.. That was cool. Otherwise.. grabbed a box of Knott's cookies and headed back to the Ford show.
  12. ^^^ By any chance, do you remember what it was called? Or which network it was on? I would love to see Goliath's construction. I just watched Mega Builders for Tatsu's construction.. pretty darn awesome!
  13. I will be at the Fabulous Fords Forever show this weekend with my '65 Mustang.. If I see any '57 Chevy's cresting the top hat, I will try to take some pictures. Now that I think about it, I might as well cross the street during the show to ride a few rides..
  14. I am excited about the new trains.. Unfortunately, due to maintenance a month or so ago, and a hiatus from Disneyland (school), I have not had a farewell excursion on the old bobsleds... Gosh.. I wonder if they will sell the old cars on eBay, without wheels, and holes drilled in the bottom, of course!
  15. Here are some REALly good pictures of the new trains/bobsleds.. http://micechat.com/forums/disneyland-resort/135593-new-matterhorn-bobsled.html
  16. Awesome, just found the info! Any AAA members that wouldn't mind bringing me along? I am not an AAA member and would really like to go. Thanks!
  17. Oh wow.. I definitely want to go to this.. I am NOT an AAA member.. Can I join someone? I will pay for the ticket and then a few extra dollars just for the opportunity. Please PM, respond, or email: mustangparts65@msn.com Thanks!
  18. Excuse my ignorance as I miss pages of this topic sometimes.. What is the AAA event?
  19. ^^I agree.. every coaster has its own uniqueness that makes it fun.. I personally don't dislike any coasters because they are too slow, or too fast, or too short, or too old, or too bumpy.. The only coaster I like, but cannot re-ride immediately, is Ghostrider.. I don't dislike or hate Ghostrider, i just cannot handle its roughness for multiple rides (except for certain seats that are smoother). While riding the ride, I think it has an awesome layout, amazing speed, and a certain level of enjoyment.. Even if there is a coaster that might 'suck', I will still ride it again.. why not?
  20. I feel that Batman provides one heck of a punch.. especially compared to its (in a sense) twin - Silver Bullet. Sure it's not the tallest, or newest, or fastest, but Batman is certainly a fun ride.. As is Viper.. Back to the Scream argument.. I have ridden it at least ten times.. and still find it to be an enjoyable coaster.. The parking lot idea doesn't bother me.. I find it amusing, actually. I enjoy the ride because of its layout, speed, type, and the fact that it's next to the parking lot.. However.. I will admit that there is a certain 'roughness' to the ride, especially considering its age, and the fact that it is not cycled as much as the more popular coasters.. It's actually more of a 'vibration'.. Does anyone know why this might be apparent on such a 'new' ride.. I expect roughness from an older steel coaster.. but not something that is less than a decade old..
  21. I wanted to ride.. we even went into the station. But I was just watching my money. I figured I would be 'nickeled and dimed' to death in Vegas.. $5 here, $8 here.. a beer here.. dinner. etc.. Plus gas, and the room.. Plus.. knowing that I would be at SFMM riding coasters all day for an incredible reasonable fee.. just kind of kills the mood having to pay so much for ONE ride.. And as you said in terms of roughness, I had heard that before about this coaster.. Yes.. I bitch a lot..
  22. No.. we didn't ride it.. Looks like a very fun ride though. What are the air gates of death??
  23. Yes, it is quite interesting indeed. The picture should have been taken from the top to really show the closeness. The only thing that I can think of is the support base is lowered onto the studs? The nuts are then tightened onto the studs, and perhaps for final adjustments, the support bases move a bit? I dunno.. it's all just speculation. I guess I should be more focused on the fact that the nuts are still there.. that's all that matters, right?
  24. Since I have a Shelby GT, that needed some warranty work at the Shelby factory in Vegas, I figured hey, let's take advantage of going to Vegas.. We drove out on Thursday, stayed at Planet Hollywood, went to Shelby on Friday, drove back home to make sure the car was safe and sound, and drove up to Valencia on Friday night.. lots of walking in Vegas, lots of driving.. but overall, a darn good weekend, and an amazing time at SFMM on Saturday! I must say.. kudos to EVERYONE involved with the planning and execution of WCB! Not only Robb and Elissa, but every single employee at SFMM! The day could not have been better! Here are some pictures... enjoy! Pretty, yes.. For three hundred miles, no. Take note of the hood scoop edges.. not so pretty. And to think there was $1000 gas-guzzler tax on this car.. Note to future Vegas travelers.. be careful going over 100.. there are cops everywhere.. But we won't mention how fast we went.. First stop, Calico! It has the atmosphere of Knott's, but without any roller coasters.. So much for Calico being a Ghost Town from the 1800s.. where the only form of transportation was a horse and buggy.. Wait.. Knott's is three hours away.. right? "I'm Mike Rowe... and this is my job...." MTV Cribs.. Old West Style.. When people were three feet tall.. Viva... Las Vegas.. Viva Las Vegas.. Vivaaaa..Vivaaaa.. Las Vegasssssssssssssss! (or to the tune of Elvis.. but yeah.. just use your imagination). Thank you Droid for leading the way. And thank you Pioneer DVD player for keeping the passenger entertained. *cough. *wink. We went to WCB this weekend.. and saw a functioning monorail!!! We drove three hundred miles with blue skies and no wind. We arrive at Vegas and.. gray skies, WIND!!!!, etc. CRAZYYY wind! Debris flying all over the freeway! If you haven't noticed, I like cars. And coasters. Enough said. Oh, that's our hotel in the background. We were on top of the PH 10-story parking garage. If Austin Powers had a hallway designed with his taste in mind.. it would make you want to get on the elevator very quickly. Yes.. we went to Pawn Stars. Unfortunately, Robb didn't provide us with a line-free ERT.. so waiting 30 minutes was necessary.. It is veryyyy deceptive.. on TV, it looks much larger inside.. we saw the old man.. that is all. With a chopper like this, there is no need to clean bugs off when you get home.. it simply devours them along the way. We went bowling in an old Airstream trailer.. It was very difficult handling the balls as they were very small.. "Deee....es..perado.. Why don't you come to your senses? You've been out ridin' fences.. for so long." Ok. So I used to listen to Country music. So the only response I get from my sister when I showed her this picture, "Why'd ya park in the handicap spot?" Well.. I didn't park.. I just pulled in. And the car was running. And it was the only spot open as someone was getting married in the background. Enough Vegas for now. How about some Shelby's? No? Well SFMM is coming up shortly, I promise. Screw the strip. And the alcohol. And the gambling. THIS is why we came to Vegas!!! $23 million for this car, or to have your very own roller coaster in your backyard. YOU decide. HA! My sharpie is the commercial grade! I could not take pictures inside the factory. It was amazing! Shelby's, Super Snakes, Shelby F-150s, etc. Remember the earlier hood scoop picture? Much better! Alrighty.. enough Vegas for now.. How about SFMM??? Geese are talking to each other: "Hey.. ha! I betcha some WCB attendee will step on this little present I left for them." Other goose: "Why'd ya hafta leave it there.. they JUST re-coated the midway.." Disneyland shows you the backside of water? HA! I give you, THE BACKSIDE OF Terminator! (and Deja Vu). Yes there is a coaster going here. (I can think of a few jokes relating to said coaster, but they would be inappropriate). A backstage park area.. kind of interesting. It would be super popular in the park.. perfect place to relax. And an upcoming flume ride. Sorry Superman - you aren't the fastest coaster anymore. This one is. E-Class, the ride, with speeds up to 160 MPH. Yet against all odds, it's the shortest ride in the park. Yes we're in a restricted area that is off-limits to the general public. That's right, you're the general public. Please don't spit on me. thanks. Black and blue on your face, not so good. Black and blue on an awesome B&M? PERFECT!!! Hi Riddler. We'll be riding you later. Riddler is taking the tunnel. It's one thing to be approaching a tunnel at 85 MPH.. but it's another thing to see humans waiting around the bottom of the drop.. Even the tunnel is themed! Nice! More Flags, more Fun! SIX FLAGS!!!! I realized after our tour that there is absolutely no access, anywhere in the park, to Goliath's support poles. Unless you go on a TPR event. Wow. Backstage tours are AWESOME! I was thinking about the pager in Bruce Almighty.. but God didn't have the number to these phones.. Regardless.. DO NOT pull cell phones out when your on a coaster. Period. Nerd shot, yes. But how did they tighten those nuts in the first place?? There is no room for a ratchet. And even with a wrench, the nuts don't have enough room to turn. Step by Step, day by day.. Wait.. even the cast of Step by Step didn't get to go on racing Colossus.. Only TPR WCB attendees did.. AND IT WAS AWESOME! Unfortunately, if you don't get out of the park quickly enough, the animals come out to play.. Thanks again Robb for such an awesome day. If any of you would like more pictures of Vegas, Shelby, or SFMM, please let me know - I have hundreds.
