  1. I think the clue to all this is in the word "unique" and exactly what is meant by that. At the very least if that means unique to the park's lineup that would still be totally awesome. Maybe so this doesn't get totally ruined, the subject of 'project 18' should be dropped until it gets close to the time of the official announcement. Being a year or so away this is going to get discussed to death to the point that when it is finally announced, the reaction on here could just be meh. Or, this could work in favor of the park, a mysterious project discussed for so long that it draws a ton of interest and publicity for MM. I almost wish I didn't know anything about this until next year. Either way I will be very excited to go and check out whatever this is when it opens.
  2. Well I hope that by the time this gets announced it won't be a let down.
  3. Some of the best photos for this could be the many awesome photos posted on here (with permission I would think) or photos you take yourself.
  4. This is a good way to quickly get burned.
  5. By 'unique' does that mean unique to this park/California or unique as this has not been done before on this type of ride if it is some kind of dive machine?
  6. I've used my discount at the food place by Goliath and Flags with no problems, no lead or supervisor needed.
  7. Yes it was (and I feel still is) a masterpiece of engineering and I've wondered that about Anton as well. I think if he rode it today he would be greatly dissappointed. I rode it as a kid in 1978 and it was truly an awesome and fun ride. I still ride it today because I still like it and it holds special memories for me but it saddens me that it has the crappy OTSRs and is trimmed. Like said above, "oh the potential" this ride still has.
  8. A building is a structure, sometimes containing steel, so is a metal fence, a bridge, a large sign...all some sort of structure with steel.
  9. That can look bad from the GPs point of view and it can be a distraction for the employees that are supposed to be paying attention to the ride, which could potentially be very dangerous, IMO.
  10. ^ That is so annoying when they do that. I was the one who posted that photo. Well if they have nothing better to do maybe they should be sent home and save some money on payroll.
  11. If Chang originally had two trains, what happened to the other one?
  12. ^ The obvious answer is the 18th roller coaster but really it could be anything or nothing.
  13. You can't have enough track and supports in that picture!
  14. Even if this is not practical, someone could still build it in RCT3. Then if it fails, just make it crash....make it crash anyway! Something like this does make me wonder if Intamin builds anymore of these will they try to do something like that, making it safe but still a lot of fun. With a drop that high just imagine how long it could be and how many elements could be put in there. Then, if it doesn't work...make it crash!...lol
  15. We don't even know if it is a coaster, its only a "project" at this point which could be anything. There actually is more than enough room in Whizzer's spot, between the Pictorium and WWF for an awesome coaster.
  16. I'm hoping too but I think someone would have spotted something by now unless its on an area you can't easily see, even from the tower.
  17. Obviously it would not be listed on their site but I looked anyway. The only thing there is an unknown 2010 project for China, which actually looks pretty awesome. I have no idea what the mystery project is but this could be for a building, maybe for a station and not necessarily part of the track. I hope its for CGA but.....
  18. Keeping a row empty to make the wall of water that hits it smaller seems odd as this is a water ride and water will get in the boat, shouldn't matter how much. I'm sure they are designed to handle and drain out the water otherwise that would be really silly.
  19. For that matter, has anyone seen any construction ANYWHERE?
  20. Of course they could have designed a smaller one, like a Windseeker lite, 200 feet up is still pretty thrilling.
  21. Those buildings are required to have insulated glass so then, what noise? There would be about as much noise as my new dishwasher, which is so quiet you can easily have a conversation in the same room so it's just them looking for something to complain about. Maybe the park should start complaining about how ugly those buildings are and how they ruin the park skyline or how their idiotic complaints are interfering with park operations....morons. Shame on Santa Clara for not doing something about it.
