I can tell you one thing, Cedar Fair sure knows how to use Facebook now. They've been dropping clues about Carowinds 2011 expansion all the time and we're pretty sure it's just going to be Snoopy's Starlight Spectacular. But they are hyping it up like it's a major addition.

I really don't get the love for Nights in white satin. It wasn't that good a ride to me, and one of the problems was the way the screens would just end and then you'd have a blank wall or whatever. We came off the thing going "What was that?". It was certainly better than Monstars of Rock though.

I guess I need to PayPal over some more money.

You guys got the credit that used to be in Gastonia, NC. It was built into a mall and only children could ride it here, cause it would decapitate adults!

^^ That must have been the days when you had cigarette vending machines on every corner too. No cigarettes are not a prize at a Cedar Fair park, they just have the usual stuff made in China.

Those are some seriously scary looking coasters. I've had a few like that, the Pinfari at Beech Bend with it's old train comes to mind for me. Love the pics.

The park wasn't perfect, and for one thing all the concrete made for a very hot day during the summer. I for one did like Time Machine & the mine train, but as you said they were nothing spectactular. If they had themed the mine train like the one in Europe, it would've been awesome. I guess Hard Rock just assumed their name alone would bring in people. No need to try and do much thought beyond that. 3,000,000 people the first year. Can we say Delusions of gradneur?

Great pics of Kings Island. I wish I could have visited back then. It's cool to see a lot of the same defunct rides that were there, that were at Carowinds back then too.

Yeah I got my first Screamin Swing ride in on the strip there, and the guy was so nice. He even let me ride a cycle or two for free after my paid ride.

Probably shopping around for more used rides for Carowinds. If they could get the rattle out, I'd be happy to have Time Machine.

Reminds me of the TV show "Life After Man" which shows what would happen if man just up and dissapeared from the planet. Also interesting because my church I grew up in used to take in Belarussian (sp?) children for the summer to help their immune systems recouperate.

The other night at Carowinds employee night, we got to play several of the games for free (since employees can't normally play games). Anyway, I was terrible at the milk can game, even though there wasn't any real pressure. The other game I played was the water race, and I came in second I think. But that one is not the type that would be rigged anyway.

Asylum was mentioned on the previous page. Carowinds actually built a permenent building for theirs, so I guess it's around for a while unless they change the maze inside it. It's located right behind Nighthawk and is used for storage the rest of the year. I need to hit Camp K. this year cause I forgot to hit it last year, and looking forward to the new maze. I wonder if Stan will be back in the swamp again this year.
