  1. I never would have thought that Hulk would be the first one to go, technically.
  2. That, I'll definitely agree with you on because I do feel like the supports being half dark blue and half aquamarine is a a bit jarring for someone looking at the coaster.
  3. I stand corrected and I retract my previous post. There is still hope for this game.
  4. Ugh...it's as I feared....They're going for the Bullfrog's Sim Theme Park/ Thrillville demographic only....If this is all true and Atari does not improve on these issues, come the game's release they better not be scratching their heads wondering "WHY AREN'T COASTER FANS BUYING RCTW?!" Because if they're making it so we literally can not build realistic coasters and parks, they're only alienating the one group really looking forward for RCTW. I'll gladly stick to supporting Planet Coaster and Parkitect. At least these two games were made by enthusiasts for enthusiasts and casual gamers alike, not just casual gamers.
  5. Meanwhile, I think that's actually one of the prettier coasters out there. I don't know why, I just like how they put a lot of effort into painting the supports multiple colors. Anyway, I really don't like Monster at Walygator Park. I know Orochi was all white, but I feel like they could have done so much more than just a pink stripe across the main spine.
  6. 1992 One would figure that because Riverwood Theme Park recieved a plethora of new rides and roller coasters in the 1980s, building another roller coaster and another ride would be the last thing they want to do, right? WRONG!!! AGAIN!! 1992 brought a small park expansion to the right of the entrance which includes not one, but TWO new attractions for that area! Consisting of the park's eighth roller coaster and very first water-based ride! The first of the two new attractions is White Water Rapids, which is an Intamin AG river rafting ride. This ride includes various thrilling elements such as rapids, whirlpools, and waterfalls guaranteed to equally soak riders and it marks the first ride built by Intamin at Riverwood Theme Park! The second attraction however, has a bit of an interesting history behind it... Circa the early 1990s, when Thunderlooper (Formerly King Kobra at King's Dominion) was erected as a temporary attraction at Alton Towers in the UK, they approached Arrow Dynamics to build an attraction that is large and thrilling, yet didn't break the infamous tree-level height restriction. At the time, Arrow was working on a prototype roller coaster called the "pipeline roller coaster" and was to build the first of it's kind at Alton Towers. However, many issues came about during the development of the coaster, codenamed Secret Weapon 1, such as financail issues from Arrow's end and the project for the first pipeline coaster came to an end.... That is, until Richard Riverwood came into the picture.... When Alton Towers cancelled the SW1 and SW2 projects, Richard Riverwood offered Arrow to build a pipeline coaster at Riverwood Theme Park. Arrow agreed to move their plans for the pipeline coaster from Alton Towers to Riverwood Theme Park....And in 1992, Pipeline was born. Being the first of it's kind, Richard Riverwood knew he was taking a risk with Pipeline but he was aware of it and didn't care, he wanted a one-of-a-kind coaster at Riverwood Theme Park, and he got it! He expected Pipeline to be very popular among the general public for that reason alone. But....will the people share the same opinion?
  7. Simply put, have any TPR users ever try to teach people about the intricacies of roller coasters, such as the make and model of each one? And have you successfully ever converted someone from GP to enthusiast? Right now, I'm still working on teaching my mom about coasters. She loves going on roller coasters, but there are times where she's asked me some GP-like questions and I have to school her about certain things! For example, there was one time on our first trip to Carowinds where she was like "So who make Fury again? Intamin?" And I'm like "Okay that's it, we're going back to coaster school." lol Anyway, what about the rest of you?
  8. B&M: Fury 325 (favorite coaster altogether) Intamin: Intimidator 305 (second favorite coaster altogether)
  9. 1991 1991 was a rather uneventful year for Riverwood Theme Park. The situation pertaining to the crowds had begun to alleviate, more people were going to the park in '91 as opposed to the previous few years and overall, things were pretty status quo...but as you've seen in previous years, a status quo is usually followed by a period of activity.... One of the more noticeable aspects of Riverwood Theme Park is the fact that every single attraction and coaster is situated to the left of the entrance, with absolutely nothing to the right... However, it appears that things could change in the next coming year or so...
  10. Same here, and they really should test (Well, what's left of) that raccoon for diseases.
  11. Here is the picture of the dead raccoon on facebook, it did indeed happen 'WARNING: the picture is pretty nasty
  12. 1990 The 90s had officially come, a new decade...and soon to be a new era of Riverwood Theme Park. Like the 1980s, this decade will be full of advancements for this park, yet will also be quite a tumultuous time with plenty of bumps in the road...How will we find out? Only one way.....Starting from the beginning! Riverwood Theme Park kicked off the 1990s with a few general improvements around the park...Ever since it opened the year prior, Rattlesnake is considered to be part of the Snakepit area, yet people say it would fit more in the Old West Towne area, especially after this somewhat western-looking gift shop was built near the coaster.... In addition to the gift shop by Rattlesnake, Richard Riverwood finally made the decision to spruce up the entrance of the park by adding another restaurant/cafe, and ANOTHER gift shop. This one selling souvenirs and apparel from each of the major rides in the park..... The park attendance, while not where it was a while ago, had improved from 1989....There should be no cause for worry at the moment, but the attendance numbers were being closely monitored by the higher-ups at that point in time.
  13. Thankfully, Joaquin is pretty much out of the picture now, so I don't anticipate any problems with Hershey this week and next, which is good because I'm heading down there next week...
  14. The worst mistake they ever made.
  15. The Crypt wasn't like a Vekoma Wakikki Wave or a KMG Discovery. It was more like a standard top spin with an added row.
  16. that coaster would totally fill the void Chiller left
  17. I really liked Nighthawk for some reason...
  18. When it comes to the Morgan hypers, pretty much every coaster book I own from the late 90s-early 2000s all paint Steel Force in particular as this insane airtime filled Fury 325-esque scream machine....When I was a kid, it was the only 200+ foot tall coaster I've ever been on, so yeah, it did seem totally insane to me. Then as I grew older, I ended up riding much bigger and better coasters and I now realize that while Steel Force is all about speed and smoothness, it pales in comparison to the likes of Fury 325 and Intimidator 305.
  19. RCT3 came out when I was nine years old... Now the long-awaited sequel to that game is coming out a few days after my twenty-first birthday.
  20. Agreed. I've seen that line go from being able to do double rides because the line is so short to an unforgiveably long line that same day.
  21. 1989 With the ten-year expansion plan complete, let's see how the public reacts to the latest scream machine to arrive at Riverwood Theme Park! Hmmmm....now this is quite odd. According this picture's date, it was right in the height of the 1989 season in July....Seems rather empty for a July weekend.... The lack of crowds did not stop people from flocking to the latest and possibly greatest roller coaster at the park! Rattlesnake recieved extremely good reviews by riders, all praising the coaster for its almost perfect combination of speed, airtime, and twisty-ness. Some even went as far as to say it's the absolute best wooden roller coaster ever made, beating The Beast at King's Island! Ever since the bridge between the Zoo and the park was constructed in '84, River Rush had always been the roller coaster that "greeted" people to the amusement park section with trains full of screaming riders ready to drop down the tallest hill on that coaster.... Four years later, that job had been completely overtaken by the monolithic mass of wood known as Rattlesnake!
  22. Would not be surprised if the bottom post is complete sarcasm
  23. They actually only had one row for each train on Volcano? I've seen pictures of Volcano with only one row per car but I thought that was when they were testing the coaster out. I had no idea it actually operated like that.
  24. I will own up to the fact that for me, my initial post was sort of based on jealousy. What Robb says makes sense about Intamin working on record breaking rides in Europe and Asia and that the U.S isn't interested in one right now....however, with that in mind...I do get a bit jealous when I look at rides like Formula Rossa or the Intamin Megalites and I do say to myself "Man, wouldn't that be cool if there was a coaster like that in America?"
  25. I recently checked this on RCDB...The USA hasn't had a new Intamin coaster built in THREE YEARS with Skyrush at Hershey being the latest one. And this drought doesn't seem to be letting up any time soon with none of the Intamins slated to open in 2016 are located in the US....They're either in Europe or Asia. I thought that this was only a Cedar Fair thing, but then I noticed that Six Flags hasn't been contracting Intamin since 2011 when they built Green Lantern at SFMM. Meanwhile, as a country, America has been getting a healthy dose of B&Ms, RMC hybrids and custom wood coasters, new Zierier models, and Gerstlauer coasters with the first Infinity coaster in the country being built next year. I really wonder, what exactly is causing this drought? Is it because Intamins don't have the best track record for reliability? Is it because of costs to operate one? I'm really curious...
