The Most EXTREME rides in the world!
fraroc replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I305 is currently one of the most intense coasters in the world, but when it comes to the most extreme, without a shadow of a doubt, Crystal Beach Cyclone, that ride broke all the rules. -

Yeah, I realize that. But I think the name Super Looper is pretty short, sweet and to the point. And It's just something about that name that tells me "This ride is gonna be a classic" But thanks anyway. I do think that so far, this is my Magnum Opus when it comes to RCT3 parks. October, 1979 Hello all! Wait until you see what is going on at Elmwood Lake park for 1980's new attraction!! I cannot give any major details but, trust me. This will be both huge for the park and from what I'm hearing from Arrow Dynamics of Clearfield, Utah it will be record-breaking too! If they're not putting on airs, then I cannot believe that Elmwood Lake Park, MY park will be home to a record-breaking coaster! A sizable amount of land was cleared and a ditch was dug, most likley for a manmade pond! And within days, coaster peices arrived at the park, featuring Arrow's famous track style of the side-friction wheels inside the track! I have a feelin' this is gonna be a good ride! Stay tuned for more! -
My first looping coaster was SooperDooperLooper at Hersheypark when I was four. My parents and my aunt and uncle coaxed me to go on the ride on that thing at night. I was of course, pissing my pants scared. I think the tunnel freaked me out the most because everybody started screaming to scare everybody. I rode it again during the day, and I loved it! In fact to this day, SooperDooperLooper is one of my absolute favorite roller coasters. Just goes to show you, if you try it, you'll like it!

PAX must have been partyin' hard before building those coasters. Also shouldn't Drachen Fire (god rest it's soul) be included? It was an Arrow, but it wasn't very Arrow like at all. Also, Hydra looks pretty unconventional. A twist before the lift hill, an oddly shaped tilted Immelmann, a zero g roll, a corkscrew THEN a cobra roll. And Ninja at SFOG also seems a little unorthodox to me. I had no idea that the first inversions were called a "butterfly" I just called them "two weird loops" -

June, 1979 Hello, hello! And welcome to yet another sucsessful season of Elmwood Lake Park. For such a small park, we sure are getting a lot of fame! That fame is all thanks to Super Looper, the new star attraction of Elmwood Lake Park! Technically only the third looping coaster ever built. The first being The Great American Revolution in Magic Mountain and the second being the SooperDooperLooper at Hershey Park. A little girl, probably no older than five years old that went on Super Looper said "That was the bestest rolly-coaster EVER!!!" Unfortunatly, one of our spinning rides, the Whirler had unfortunaly become a maintenance nightmare and our only option was to get rid of it permentantly. Its a shame tough, it was a very popular and thrilling ride. The Vermont Maple Train is still very popular with families! This skyline shot really showcases all of our most popular attractions! Screamin Eagle, Parachute Drop, Vermont Maple Train and Super Looper! Stay tuned for more! Here is a little spoiler: We have been thinking about building a roller coaster at Elmwood Lake Park hopefully within the next two years that will go upside down multiple times! -

Thanks! And you're gonna see some more right now! June,1977 Hello! It's time for another sucsessfull season as the Super Looper is now open for business! First impressions of the coasters attracted countless amounts of daredevils and repulsed some people that are timid when it comes to roller coasters. The big 360! For some reason, I always liked this flyover above the station! Hearing people's screams as the train roars by reallly sets the mood! However, the fun is not over after the loop, there is a dark tunnel, and several portions of twisted track with a lot of near-misses with people's hands! This is known by the coaster community as a "headchopper" or less commonly a "hand chopper". Definetly adds to the thrill! I was 100% right, this coaster definetly put Elmwood Lake Park on the map for thrill seekers! And we ain't done yet! I can't tell much but in the near future, say, 3-5 years we will build another major steel roller coaster that could potentially put Super Looper to shame! -

1977 THE SUPER LOOPER IS HERE!!! Remember when the Whirler arrived at the park and we promised we would go back to Anton Schwarzkopf again? Well, we kept our promise! And now, new for 1977, we have the first looping coaster in the South, SUPER LOOPER! This ride undoubtly will put Elmwood Lake Park on the map for thrill seekers. Super Looper will obviously be known for it's 360 degree completley circular vertical loop! Schwarzkopf designed this to be a portable ride even though we believe it is definetly here to stay! The ride will open soon! So far it looks pretty awesome! I cannot wait until this ride opens! The coaster-aficonados are going to LOVE it. -

Thank you June,1976 Hello, hello! Welcome to another sucsessful season of Elmwood Lake Park! Also, it's the 200th birthday of our country, The U.S of A! Lets celebrate by taking a trip to the park! Even though the main midway is small, it is slowly but surely increasing in size! The new ride for 1976 is Rotor! A brand new spinning gravity ride! Here is the ride in a nutshell, you go inside of this giant drum and you are basically spun around at insanely high speeds! Then the floor below you collapses and you literally stick to the wall due to the centrefugical forces! Screamin Eagle is a great ride! Behind the Cafe Americana, I found a patch of land that was cleared. Rumor has it that there will be a great new attraction coming to the park in 1977. Could Screamin Eagle and Vermont Maple Train get some competition? -

Because, for some reason they wanted to paint the coaster blue and orange. It wouldn't make any sense for every Arrow looper in the world to be the same color, now would it? -

Rolling Thunder needs some SERIOUS work done. The more and more I'm hearing, its becoming more like Mean Streak than Rebel Yell I definetly think some Topper Track would do good for the ride. -
Vekoma Boomerang! A first?
fraroc replied to GrapesLie's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
In a way, you could count the late, great Moonsault Scramble even though it wasn't a Vekoma (I always thought it was). It had a Norwegian loop instead of the Cobra Roll/Loop combo. It looked fun as hell though. -

Thanks! I do feel this is much, much better than Kings Paradise, my first major park. I did like the name Screamin Eagle even though I preferred All-American Coaster. I didn't particularly care for Python or Windstorm though. June, 1974 Hello again! The park is now open for the season! Which means also the Screamin' Eagle is open too! Let's check the place out! The park was absolutley packed today. Long lines for every ride but this is just a sign of a sucsessful season! Oh wait....this isn't named Mine Train Coaster anymore! After Screamin' Eagle opened the ride's name was changed to the Vermont Maple Train! I think that's a much better and less generic name! A lot of thrill seekers instantly rushed to Screamin' Eagle to ride it for the first time! This ride is highly considered to be an "airtime machine" because of it's high amounts of weightlessness during the massive hills! We hope that this ride will keep on thrillin' for many generations like the Cyclone at Coney Island! Hopefully this small park will keep increasing in size and popularity! -

Thanks! Thanks! Ok! Ok! Ok! March,1974 It is finally here! The SCREAMIN' EAGLE is here! The wooden-out and back roller coaster is built by the famous William Cobb who has designed the famous Great American Scream Machine at Six Flags. Originally, the ride was supposed to be named "All-American Coaster" but in the end, we decided to put it to a vote with the general public and Screamin' Eagle won! The largest hill is 97ft tall and it's top speed is approximatly 51mph. I have no doubt in my mind this is going to be a MONSTER sucsess! -
Which coaster was "scary" for you?
fraroc posted a topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I do remember I was extremley scared of going on Steel Force when I was a kid because I have never gone on a hypercoaster before, but after riding It became my favorite. I had a very bad experience with without-warning launches when I decided against my insticts to ride Dominator at Dorney so I was scared of launched coasters until I rode Voodoo/Possessed then I loved them. I had no trouble with Flight of Fear which launches without any warning. But I will admit I was a little freaked out when I rode the Cedar Creek Mine Ride because I did not trust those wooden supports and I was terrified it was going to collapse. (Trailblazer has steel supports) -
Was the Cyclone damaged in any way? It would have made national headlines if anything serious happened to it like HURRICANE SANDY DESTROYS LEGENDARY CYCLONE ROLLER COASTER or CONEY ISLAND CYCLONE 1927-2012. I love the Cyclone, its rougher and more painful than any Vekoma or Arrow I have ever ridden but yet I love it. Mainly because of the out-of-control feeling you get on a wood coaster that no steel coaster can ever replicate. I think the only thing worse than the Cyclone is Mean Streak in the backseat. with Mean Streak the drop started out ok, but once you made it to the bottom the back of the train just whacks your spine like it's nobody's business.

Vekoma Boomerang! A first?
fraroc replied to GrapesLie's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It depends on how good the park takes care of their boomerang. Sidewinder at Hershey has those new no-headbanging sexy trains that make the ride so much better than it was years ago when I rode it for the first time. The intensity in the front row when the train goes through the loop backwards is incomperable, and I've been on I305! Other parks treat their boomerangs like trash and they become trash rides. -

Or could it be possible that instead of a B&M Wing Coaster, an Intamin Wing Coaster was opened instead? The only one is Furius Baco and It's only fitting that one opens in America soon. -
This is very good, man! And it looks like my Elmwood Lake Park, in Lynchburg TN has some competition! Your coasters are great, But when you're taking pictures of the Schwarzkopf don't face the loop's profile because the loop frame dosen't match up to the track itself, I don't know why that wasn't fixed. Very good park and I can't wait to see more!

I used Xtics custom scenery. Thanks! February, 1974 Hey! This is Bill Walsh again! I hope you are all having a pleasant and safe winter! While I can't get into much details about the picture below right now, I will assure you, it will be one hell of a ride and possibly one of the best roller coasters in the entire state of Tennessee! There is no name for it right now. All I know is that it was built by the famous William Cobb who built the Great American Scream Machine at Six Flags last year. Creator Comments: I am right now holding a NAME THAT COASTER contest! What do you think would be a good name for the woodie? A. All-American Coaster B. Screamin' Eagle C. Windstorm D. Python
