Just in case you didn't see it I posted some pictures of SFNO Flooded over in the Theme Park Board.

Hey everybody! This thread is simple! Rather than having a million little threads about everything that goes on at the former Six Flags New Orleans and potentially Jazzland, this thread is designed to consolidate it all into one user-friendly thread. Pretty interesting. Everything appears to still be standing...standing in anywhere from 5 - 10 feet of water! If you thought that Megazeph was built over a swamp before wait till you see it now. Again, not too many close up shots since this was from a news chopper, but it will definitely give you an idea of the damage! Poor Sally Dark Ride must have Major Damage. Even farther out now and we can see the S&S Towers and Megazeph on the right side of the park. Again, for the most part everything still seems 'there' but I wonder what kind of inspections they'll need to get the rides back open once the water is removed From a bit farther out we can see more of Batman...good thing they built it so high off the ground! In this photo you can see the boomerang, aviator, and a piece of Batman. Here's a closeup of what I believe is the entrance and the tip of a log flume (I haven't been to the park since it was Jazzland in 2001, so I apologize if I'm wrong) Lots of buildings underwater...you can also see the pirate ship and another ride. Here's a new Satellite view. And yet another new shot.

Ok here we go: Go to Tobu Zoo for opening, and you can hit LaQua in the afternoon. Sea Paradise and Cosmoworld can easily be done in the same day. (they are about 20min apart via 2 trains) Depending on hours you might also be able to squeeze in Aquastadium, which I believe is on the way to/from those two parks. Fuji Q needs it's own full day Nagashima needs a full day (if you're traveling from Tokyo), if you're going to be in the Nagoya area you can finish the park in a half day if it's not crowded. So I guess I need some more info from you. Are you ONLY staying in Tokyo or will you be taking some overnight trips? Will you have a Japan Rail Pass? Are you interested in just credits, or seeing the parks too? Are you a disney fan, cause in that case you might want 3 days at Disney. If Joypolis reopens you'll want to head there too because it's a really cool little park in a nice area. Hope this helps, please write back and tell me what else you'd like to know!

Yeah, I have to say I was a little putoff by the "Tsunami" Analogy. I'm sorry but there is nothing similar between the two events. The tremendous loss of life in Asia combined with NO warning is so different than this hurricane...ugh, it really annoyed me.

Very good and detailed report Barry, I really enjoyed it. I think sometimes we get spoiled by our home parks and don't indulge so it's great that you do!

We are going to depart from LHR around 4pm on that Friday the 9th on the Coach. If you can't make it on the whole tour at least try and stop by a park or two to meet up!
