  1. I lost my lip balm on that ride! I saw it arch beautifully out of my pocket on one of those insane airtime hills! Mmmm Airtime and Rodents, best park of the trip!
  2. Great Pix! You touched on a lot of interesting things going on: - Trying to be more like a movie studio and showing pilots - All you can eat pass catching on - HHN Maze Construction Nice!
  3. Twister, Email me privately and we'll talk about what's going on... emeridithw2@aol.com
  4. ^^^ Aw Crap...note to everyone on the trip...get on a coaster before John takes a picture of it! ^^Balder is in Sweden, we will be adding it on as a ONE day trip. More and more it's looking like when the bus drops everyone off at the airports on Monday the 19th we will fly to Sweden, go to the park, fly back to England that same day then most likey stay overnight at a hotel near the airports and fly home Tuesday. Of course you are more than welcome to add on other options as well. Remember chat tonight to talk about all this crazy stuff!
  5. ^I think that's actually the Webhost going in and out while they fix a problem. The entire site was down for most of last night and even this morning. Our webhost informed us that there was a problem and they'd be working on it today. Thanks!
  6. Hey everyone! Assuming Lypha is good and the site is up and running tonight...our normal 6pm Chat would be a great place for you to come on in and ask any questions you might have about the UK Trip! I'll be there to answer any and all questions/comments/concerns! See you tonight! --elissa
  7. ^^^ What email address did you send it from? Robb doesn't think he has an email from you. Go ahead and send it directly to me (I'm kind of in charge of this whole shindig) at emeridithw2@aol.com ^^Large enough to get 'park perks', small enough to do really nice special things. I'd rather not give an exact number for several reasons: let's just say more than 10 less than 1000!
  8. http://www.themeparkreview.com/europe2005/europe2005.htm Heide Park Photos added! Highlights of this update include: - Colossos. I mean, it's one of the best wood (yes, WOOD) coasters in the world! - Elissa gets a long lost credit. - SLIDES OF DEATH!!!! - Intamin gryo drops are cool! - I'm a bear and I caught a dolphin... Enjoy today's installment!
  9. ^LOL....I doubt it...plus robb would probably try to eat his way into the coke and chocolate room! I'll look into it though...if it's possible to get one suite, maybe we'll have like a contest to see who gets it at one of the previous parks! I already have some stuff like that planned so we'll see! I told you this was going to be a fun trip!
  10. for the lipstick camera we have you have to plug it into a regular camera as well. I'll tell Robb to check out this thread and post a pic of it.
  11. ^You missed a lot of the drama with the site getting messed up! Glad to hear you're still going! It should be a great day!
  12. ^On that note, did anyone see the True Hollywood Story on Blossom this weekend??? Blossom got FAT!!!!
  13. You're awesome! I also like the separation of Announcements, Sticky's, and normal posts! Oh wait, I thought of one thing! Can you make it so that when you click submit, it brings you right to your post? Oh, and one more thing I just noticed...when you edit a post, the edited last line doesn't come up so it's hard to see when someone changed a post!
  14. ^You'll have to either print out a legal document online, or go to a lawyers office to basically have both of your parents sign their parental rights over to this 18+year old temporarily. I actually did this one time when I went to England with some friends of my parents. They had to sign me over to them for the week so that they could make medical and all other important decisions.
  15. Wow Allison, the big 30!!! Happy bday... Oh, and Gregg...I'm so sorry I missed posting on your actual birthday...stupid site crap!!! Anyways, happy late birthday to the one, the only: SUPERCRACK
  16. ^Trust me, I'm sure you're mature, and we know we wouldn't have to babysit you...it's more of a liability thing and this is what the insurance company told us we have to follow... 15 and under HAVE to have a parent/guardian. 16 and 17 have to have mass amounts of forms filled out to go alone. 18 and up you're good to go. My only suggestion would be if you can find any 18 year old that is 1) Willing to go and spend the money and 2) Your parents trust enough to sign over temporary guardianship to then you could go. Does that make sense?
  17. ^^Joey is notorious for waiting till the last minute to pay up for all the trips he goes on with us!
  18. Yes, we do have a specific itinerary planned out at this time. We did not post it just yet in case we do have to make modifications. I don't know how we would work out leaving early or coming late onto the tour. If it turns out that is what you would like to do I will look into it more. Yeah like I said about airfare, early summer you really shouldn't pay more than $800 from the east coast and $1K from the west coast. Once we have the other board up and running feel free to post specific flights and deals you're finding!
  19. Hi Andy! My recommendation would be that if you are pretty sure that you will be able to go, to go ahead and send in the $150 deposit. (Remember that it is fully refundable until Feb. 1st if you find out you can't go) I don't think we'll sell out by November, but I'd hate to say that now and then have it happen. As for accommodations, there will be no hostels or PONTINS! The lowest end of accommodations would be a Travel Inn (similar in America to Holiday Inn's, similar in Europe to Ibis or Mercure's) They will all have A/C and full service restaurants. Our best accommodations will be the Alton Towers Hotel! Hope this helps, feel free to keep posting questions!
  20. Hmmm...so the 5th coaster you hit in the UK would be your 300???? I might have to modify the itinerary to make sure it's something really awful! Eh, I'll just make sure there's a crappy kiddy credit nearby!
  21. ^YAY DEREK!!!!! I'm alerting all of the birds and Lemon Trees near Skegness that we'll be arriving! ^^ Yes there will be an option for Solo Rooms. I'm sorry I didn't mention it on the flyer but the flyer was getting pretty crammed full of information! I will work out exact pricing once we get all the quotes back from each hotel, but more than likely it will add between $400-$500 to the total price if you'd like to get your own room. - Just so everyone isn't confused by Derek's post...Balder is NOT in England, nor is it on the tour, it is in Sweden at Liseberg. Derek, Dan, Robb & I (and I'm sure more people) are adding it on as a day trip! Again, this is what I'm talking about when I tell you we're here to help you with ALL your travel plans, including add on days not covered by TPR! (Although if we do get enough interest I could look into making it an official add on day!) Come on guys, isn't the UK enough!!!?!??!?
  22. This is a great response everyone! Thanks again! - As for when to send the $150...as soon as possible. It is first come, first served and I've had a lot of private emails about people sending their money in as well. - Snorers Unite and find a partner!!! This will also be what we use the "exclusive trip board" for. To help everyone find a partner if they want, help with airfare, side trips (cough day trip to liseberg cough), etc. - Yay for more females!!! - Can any of the UK Members help with the height question? Do you guys have any coasters with restrictions like Deja Vu? If no one knows, I will start to contact the parks myself. Keep asking away!
  23. ^^ We'll have to look into PayPal. The problem is that it takes out more and more fees all the time! Don't worry about driving as you'll have door to door service from the airports on a luxury coach! ^ Thank you! We worked hard to make sure it was a good deal! We contacted nearly 20 coach companies, are working with group discount rates at hotels/parks/etc. It's just hard right now between fuel costs and that darn exchange rate! But for 10 days to 14 parks, it's going to be a great deal!
  24. ^^^None! I'm pretty sure that you can do everything at 18 in the UK, I'm sure some of our Brits on the board can help you out with any more specific questions. That's a good point about travelling alone...for those of you who sign up you will receive a much more detailed form that we will use to 'match' you with a roomate, or if you know someone who is going you will specify that you want to be with them. We will figure out a "single supplement" for those of you who want your own room. It would more than likely add about $500 to the cost if you'd like your own private hotel room. Price quoted is on double occupancy as noted on the flyer.
  25. More Answers! Where to send the deposit - Sorry I didn't include that on the flyer, I thought for sure everyone knew! My bad, I will be doing a new flyer today, meanwhile deposits can be sent to: Robb Alvey 24803 Magic Mtn Pkwy #1920 Valencia, CA 91355 We are NOT staying at Pontins! Money - You pay for airfare, 1 - 2 meals a day (depending on how much you eat!), and souvenirs. Your event fee covers: All transportation in the country, all park admissions, park perks, accomadations, at least 1 meal a day, snacks on the bus, group photo, tour shirt, tour dvd and photos, luggage tags, personalized itineraries, and more! Airfare - Again, part of our 'service' is helping you with your ENTIRE trip. Not just the part we're putting on. We will help you find great airfare. Benzo - unless you eat like 12 ACErs, or buy $100 souvenirs at every park there is NO reason in the world the trip would cost you $4K! Barry - Keep in mind space is limited, so don't take too long to decide to go! You know you want to! You'd actually meet Robb and have him confined on a bus! Keep asking questions and signing up!
