^^There was prep work going on around Dragon Fire for most of (if not all) the 2011 season. This wasn't a last second decision to put the ride in. -

WOW! I can't believe they're actually removing it. I mean, it makes total sense and I agree with it, but I didn't think they would actually do it. Dick Kinzel has got to be crapping his pants about this one, but he had to know that change like this would happen once he was gone. -

^If only the geniuses who designed this ride and the business people who paid for this ride had the designing capabilities of a TPR member with Photoshop. -
Turtle Trek was pretty cool. It was REALLY cheesy, but I come to expect that out of SeaWorld. The whole 360 3D thing was definitely the most impressive thing about the whole attraction, and I'm glad I get to see the manatees again. It'll be great for kids, but I'm not so sure I'll be going out of my way to see the show again.

LED lights all over the MF lift structure would look horribly tacky. It looks great on things like Giant Wheel and Windseeker, but it would have been a bit much to cover MF in them. -
PHOTOSHOP CONTEST!!! Win some crap!
Skycoastin Steve replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^If you read what Robb said, Godwyn made that photoshop before the contest started, and it was the inspiration behind starting the contest in the first place. -
Reminds me of when CP was building Maverick, and a few weeks before the announcement, someone (can't remember who) did an interview about what was being constructed in the back of the park. You could clearly see coaster track all over the place (both built and sitting in the grass field next to Breakers Express), but he literally said, "can't say if it's a coaster, or even that it's a ride." Really? Do you think we're all idiots?

^Well, technically, yes. But it's the hotel for the people that are on the LeviaTHON trip. -

It's funny you should mention that, as it's very probable that a massive coaster installation was cancelled because of possible lost profits from taking out part of the campsite and Soak City lot. -

Stop getting butthurt over things on the internet and get a sense of humor. Tell them to do some real, actual fact checking and confirming what sources are saying (and by confirming I mean NOT posting hearsay rumors) before making themselves look like jackasses. Because there's a MASSIVE difference between a minor incident in which the train still rolls well enough to get back to the station, the ride is still in plenty good enough shape to make test runs, and a man received minor injuries, as opposed to yellow train is destroyed, a support and possibly track are damaged to the point they need to be replaced, and a man got 37 stitches in his skull and had shattered vertebrae. Do you not see the need to fact check there? By my count, to this point, BGWFans has incorrectly reported that 1. the ride would be a 300-foot launched coaster 2. the name would NOT be Verbolten 3. this entire fiasco. Maybe their "sources" aren't as reliable as they think? And it's all information that we would have gotten eventually anyway, so don't think they're saving the coaster dork world by stealing confidential plans and illegally posting them on their site.

This is insane, tough to comprehend how the train could have been going fast enough to do that kind of damage. But physics is a crazy beast. Following up on BGWFans, it looks like they still expect the ride to open May 18, even with the support possibly having to be replaced (as well as the yellow train obviously).
